And why have there got to be regional seperations for option files, annoying when you find a file which looks promising but it ends up being 'Murican.

pes had many things to improve, i think most of the guys here are asking to mutch in such short amount of time, they basicly implement everything we ask for, there is always room for improvement but i´m very happy with the changes they introduce if they come correct and bug free.

Theyve had 7 years since pes6.......

+1 Spanish is my mother language and i switch them to italian. The Best ones IMO. CARTELINO ROSSO!!!

I reckon if we played the games out in English and learn the script triggers, we could learn another language. (sometimes I feel like my brain works by itself.)

haha same here I like listening to italian commentators a lot. for the english ones, I like Tyler and Tyldesley very much, I'm still ok with Jon Champion too but in Pes6 I still play with the Italian commentary.

There is one thing that i still would like KONAMI to fix in ML and BAL. The players respawning after retirement. It really breaks the game sometimes to see a player retiring just to appear again as a youngster...
I think that it could be enough to create a random player over the retired one, giving him random stats, random appereance and random nationality too. That for example would make more hard to find new young players to add to the team. I dont really think its hard to accomplish since managerial games do it already by a long time

If I was developing a football game, I wouldn't waste time on commentary at all. I'd redirect all that effort into making the crowd audio as exciting, variable and responsive as possible. Personally, I'd much rather have a great stadium atmosphere and no commentary.

u asking too much aswell then....:TTTH:

btw making a great commentary is not even possible for the modding community but adding REAL chants we do that for 13 years already

I know it's not a solution when a videogame sports, I've had it enough with the commentary, I switch to a language I don't understand at all.
Psychologically it really makes a difference.

That's exactly what I do.. I may go to the new Arabic commentary this year.

It's not just about authentic chants, though. More about the reaction to events, the involvement of the crowd, dynamically reflecting every individual action on the pitch. What atmosphere is, really. I don't think any football game has explored this far enough yet.

Maybe this 'Heart' stuff will get it going - we'll see.

Try watching a streamed football game on ESPN3 where there's no commentary. Just not the same.
What about when you're at the stadium?

I just think video game commentary is destined to feel fake and repetitive. I wouldn't bother with it. Aim for the in-stadium experience rather than a second-hand tv broadcast, imo.

I think that's a different experience all together though isn't it. Well, at least it is for me. When I'm at a game, I don't need to listen to a commentator for some reason--would be weird if there was one, on the PA system or something:LOL: I think if commentating is done right, like in FIFA, which I think is adequate, it adds to the football experience. However, repetition does set in, for sure. I need something though. Can't be listening to music, podcast etc... while playing football:NONO:

The first thing I do in a new football game is turn off the commentary.

The first thing I do is turn off the in game music.

I start my first game with commentary but by half time it's off. I prefer to do my own commentating as its much more exciting. It would be good if there was an option for the commentator to only mention players names without all the other stuff.

Current PES commentary is okay.. they just need more script, emotion, and talks between Jon and Jim.. and more funny lines.. lol.

Actually, i think their line is quite epic.. lol.

Similar to nerf's comment earlier, I'm mainly interested in the stadium atmosphere. A vibrant crowd reacting dynamically to the on-pitch action would be perfect.

The televisual experience is not what I'm after hence commentary is low on my list of priorities. Even the best commentary (NBA2K) can get a little stale after prolonged exposure.

I think PES 2014 is going to have a classical soundtrack. Beethovens 9th symphony in the trailers, Nessun Dorma in the main menu of the E3 build...

All I have to say is: Day 1 Steam.

I've just gone and uninstalled Origin from my PC. It is weeping with joy.

Yep; that's on my to do list as well. I won't miss bloody Origin, that's for sure - it's even worse than GFWL and that's saying something!

If we've only got a limited number of leagues, I don't think 'reincarnation' works very well. If you've got a huge number of leagues like Fifa then the player could pop up anywhere - you might never see them; with limited leagues, it's almost guaranteed you'll run into them.

Which brings up another point: is there a limit to how long your career can be in PES (both ML and BaL)? Fifa had a fifteen year limit.

It's not just about authentic chants, though. More about the reaction to events, the involvement of the crowd, dynamically reflecting every individual action on the pitch. What atmosphere is, really. I don't think any football game has explored this far enough yet.

Which brings up a bit of a concern: will 'Heart' affect the fan made chant packs? Because 'Heart' or no 'Heart', PES default chants are generally rubbish.

I just mute the whole thing (Volume settings on PC)

You miss out on some fantastically atmospheric chant packs then.

The in-game music annoys me a lot more than the commentary.

Surely this year there will be an in game music changer?

I remember a few years back though there was one song in PES that I loved - 'All My Friends Are Dead' - that song was hilarious.

Passing assistance at 0, no assistance at all in shooting
no radar, wide cam, Superstar difficulty
begin a master league with the default players

now that is hardcore gaming

That reminds me of when the ball would decide to disappear in the middle of Fifa back in The Last Great Recycled Fifa PC Era. If it was an important match and I was leading, I'd try and hold on to the result using only the radar. I even got away with it once or twice!

The doctor76.

In PES master league there is no limit till u either go bankrupt or go below 15 players i think, or u just give up. In BAL u start off as a 17 year old youngster and can play till u reach 35 or retire before (I played BAL only in 11 and 13 so dont know others). As for the fan chants r they not making new fan chants or am I the only one thinking they will?

Edit: I dont know if u can pass 35 as I only managed the longest till 30.

They probably will make new chants, but going by their past efforts, I still think we'll be wanting to use fan made chantpacks.

Thanks for your replies to my question. I don't like the sound of 'bankrupt' - that sounds like 'if you run out of money then it's game over' and as I've said before, no sports game should have a 'game over' scenario.

In master league you're able to defeat nature, and love for a 100 years despite looking about 35 the whole time, but if your clubs goes under 16 players you're not allowed that one week to sign a kid from the youth academy and if you run out of money, game over! Which becomes impossible anyway, since you can just have a 109 rated 22 year old who you sell for £200m anyway.

I hope to be proved wrong but everything I'm hearing about the way ML works - it just doesn't sound realistic at all compared to Fifa's Career Mode.
