League mode Co-op Online ?? It's to good to be true .

Indeed, what type of multiplayer league mode are we talking about? A league where every team is controlled by users, or a co-op league mode? If it's the latter I'll be elated.

Jesus. LOOK AT EVERYTHING KONAMI IS PUTTING INTO PES 2014. It's such a huge overhaul. Commentary I can understand to an extent, though surely it's understandable given how much else they're doing. But why are some people so disappointed by lack of snow??

As it is, there'll be so much stuff Konami need to tweak and fine tune, particularly going into the next gen, that I'd be surprised if we see something as trivial as snow next year. Expecting it this year was wishful thinking; being let down by its absence is utterly devoid of perspective.

No one really cares whether its in or not, it's just they got our hopes up high by claiming to have it in PES 2014, only to say they wont have it in. Adam also said he tried to convince them to add it this year, but like he pointed out, they want snow to effect the play, where ball might slide about or take some wierd bounces like in real life rather that just having pretty looking snow fall.

Apparently Konami have been working on the game for 3 years. It's not unreasonable to expect that during those 36 months they could have made some significant changes to the commentary to compliment the "new engine", especially when we've had essentially the same poor song and dance for several years now. The addition of snow should be a low priority though.

im yet to see any football game implement weather conditions properly so whats the point if its just a visual effect.

FIFAs rain looks awful to me and doesn't represent rainy game play nor does snow although it looks pretty

(although i do remember kick off 2 doing windy which was fun)

Microprose Soccer implemented rainy conditions perfectly.

Check out the sliding tackles between 0:20-0:26

YouTube - King of the C64 - Microprose soccer: Outdoor brilliance

If PES2014 implements it as half as good then Konami are on to a winner :P

Seriously though, i am really looking forward to it. I just hope it lives up to the expectations. Otherwise it will be back to full time editing PES5 again

Personally, I like that Konami aren't putting things like snow or handballs in until they can get it working right. Yes they said snow would be in but I don't think it's abscence is a game breaker for most people. Commentary - not sure if Adam's tweets mean that they have kept the same commentators but got them to ad lib a bit more or whether it's all the same still because they've not had time to do everything.

This will be a massive overhaul so if every single thing isn't perfect then I don't care. I actually thought the gameplay in PES 2013 was good...if animations, visuals and keepers were better I would not care about the commentary. But they should address it going forward.

Tell me you're joking here and didn't just try and draw a comparison between some child's toy from the 1980s versus any of the simulation football games from the past 10 years.

If so that's incredibly disappointing. Very tired of the same old repetitive and terse script along with the extremely dull and dour Champion and Beglin.

While it's dissappointing, Im not that bothered by it for PES 14.

I would expect changes on PES 15 on PS4 & Xbone considering it's a chance to start fresh and rid itself of the mistake plagued era on PS3/360.

Im hoping it's not a long wait until the demo!

Not having snow is not a pb for me. Does the same commentating team the same type of punditry ? I agree that it's not a issue of Beglin/Champion but how their recording are used and programmed.
You could have always the best duo in the english game, if the programming isn't good enough then it'll suck.
I'm a little bit disappointed by it but it won't make the game unplayable I mean.

Especially if the crowd and atmosphere is improved, then hopefully the commentary is less noticeable.

I think if the audience has to react to different situations, why should not the commentators use the same script to do this also?

I agree - I just meant that they might not have done it yet on the commentator's side if they've run out of time. So they may have got new crowd FX but not yet new commentary. Again though - we haven't got any confirmation on this.

That's not 3 years of every single member of staff slaving away over it though. The first year will have been a handful of people looking at the Fox Engine, maybe creating a tech demo of one player and the goalkeeper. Year 2 it would have ramped up, but still attention would very much have been divided.

What we're seeing now is what it takes 3 years of varying levels of staff input to accomplish. Even now, Konami are divided between this and the next-gen version.

Yep I was a child in the 80's and loved Microprose Soccer, I'm a big kid now and hoping to love PES2014.

Yep and it was a joke :)

disagree with the handballs, i think they should be in with an option to turn them off and then work on it like fifa has..FIFAs have definitely improved since 2010 or was it 11? cant remember but I always leave them fully on now

i strongly disagree with handballs being the game, there are enough glitches as it is, handballs will only cause more grief and a hell of alot of bitching on this site, if not done correctly, as for snow, dont really want it to be honest, will be more annoying playing on it then enjoying.

Handballs are one of those things that I don't think can ever be properly implemented, especially when we're talking about the penalty area.

Agreed about the massive overhaul the game's getting but I still want to hear a lot more about the ML and BaL.

I totally disagree. If you have no control over the arms of your player then how can you be penalized in any way whatsoever. What next cramp!

As I said above, handballs in football games are a bad idea and always will be.

Now about rain - Konami, listen up: Rain doesn't mean the pitch gets waterlogged. Understand? I'll repeat it just in case: Rain. Doesn't. Mean. The. Pitch. Gets. Waterlogged! Seems that EA are too much of a bunch of fucktards not to get that through their heads so hopefully you will.

The only time a pitch plays the way it does in Fifa 'rain' is when it's absolutely chucking it down and has been doing so for hours. Most of the time, rain slicks the pitch up a bit, actually making the ball run faster.

So read that sentence once again, Konami! Just because there's a bit of rain on the pitch doesn't mean the ball should get stuck all the time.

Couldnt have agreed more with u. Although I hate the pes duo and i turn them off completely when ever i play, i think like u and adam pointed out its not the commentators but rather the script. If they get a better script and make them appear to be as enthusiastic as the arab commentator, then I will be ok. Even if not, all the things they changed is good enough. I stuck with pes (apart from 2008, 9, 11 and 12), so why cant I wait a bit more and see if this commentry is likeable or not, then praise or complain to them to remove it.

About the commentary, it doesn't sound as thought they're going to have much 'Heart' if they're still spouting the same phrases they've been coming out with for the past few years...

More than enthusiastic commentary, I would go for "accurate" first. I mean if you look at the level it's reached for NBA 2K series, it's ridiculously good tbh. For sure after a while you keep hearing the same stuff but as long as it's mostly accurate.

yeah and ADAM who representing the WHOLE KONAMI and the WHOLE PROJECT says "well ummm...whay change phrases if our commentary already shit?" well change the scripts "naahhh we totally forgot to do that & we dont have the creativity either for that possibly"

PES has literally the worst commentary in all of sports gaming today duh
