Am I the only one who never really cares that much about real time stuff that the current and new console are/will be able to make.It's all nice and all but I'm "So what ? ".Too much attention is given nowadays to little and almost pointless details

Everything they improve in Pes 2014 will be pointless if the scripting stays the same!

Imo it's the most important part of the game and they certainly ruined Pes 2013 with it, as much as I try to love the game I just can't play it one second longer or I'll go insane.

Surely they can make the game without heavy scripting, they've no excuses this time with the new engine!

Yes, they have no excuses about "limitations" now. I am hopeful that they had to script things because the previous engine was so limited... we'll see wont we!

exactly m8, they need to fix the basics ie: player switching, the defensive AI improve the gks especially 1v1s get rid of the invisible walls, stop the catch up bug etc etc.
otherwise they are just trying to polish a turd!!!

Yeah... up the pass assistance and just full power through ball/chipped through ball in the general direction of the opponent's goal and you'll get through many times... It's a joke really.

A lot of work is required on Defensive AI and the defensive side of the game all round. Player switching, player positioning, defenders not intercepting passes when they could/should, defenders not reacting to loose balls, defenders inexplicably moving on the wrong direction, defenders not challenging for crosses, etc...

Also i hope that the new engine will lay to rest the awful player clipping issues that dog PES and allow attackers to literally pass through defenders to get through on goal. This prevents any realistic collision system being implemented.

We'll see...

spot on m8. the defensive AI really needs to be improved,alot is down to player switching which leaves a player next to the ball at times under AI contol and they just stand still or run away from the friggin ball. its a joke, it really is.
 
I miss Virtua Striker, those games were very fun.
And Namco should make a new Football Kingdom, the first one was amazing.
 
im hoping this year they are smart enough to make proper nets, not asking much. Then we shall go from their.

Hello guys I will be on my feet tonight till morning for the match between real madrid and galatasaray i have had several matches on pes 2013 and boy oh boy they were all close ones, i think it's a bit early to wonder and talk about pes 2014 because i will be playing pes 2013 for a very long time wish me luck guys for my morning soccer feast in madrid
 
Why is everyone so obsessed about nets? What huge difference does it make in terms of fun or gameplay?

Whilst it's funny to joke about, it's also the principle of it. I mean, if your nets and goalposts don't look right and they're the easiest thing to get right, then how is the rest of the game going to be good.

You could also say that the referee could wear a t-shirt and jeans instead of a proper uniform since it doesn't affect the fun or gameplay. Or maybe the grass could be blue...:P
