Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)
No, you need to stop patrolling all the PES forums and trying to supress any criticism of the game. You do this every year from what I understand -- defend PES like it's your baby and like it's the second coming. It's hawkish people like you that have contributed to holding PES back from achieving it's full potential this generation.
Aye, that's right pal. I and a few others have single handedly held the game back. Flattered you find me and these select others to have such a big say. Completely and utterly wrong though.
I am voicing MY opinion and that is that I think people have it ingrained that something always changes for the worse come the final game. I can actually understand that to some degree, given previous releases but I feel this year there is no real discernible differences between demo and final game and those little issues that have existed throughout the codes/demos I have had exposure are still there. I just don't think anything has gotten any worse is all.
- I still think deft-touch control can be a little sticky and better players in particular don't exit out of it sharply enough.
- I DO think that the AI scripting in higher difficulties suffers from a little too much scripting post user goal or near end of half/match. I can accept scripting needs to exist and probably always will but it is a little too glaring on occasions.
- Heading on goal is still not right/pretty random and lacks any real logic I can identify.
- Keepers seem to be easily beaten with finesse shots. Keepers
are better than previous releases but still don't inspire enough confidence. Awful in 1 v.1's.
- Loose ball win ratio v. COM is still an issue and even though player awareness has improved, it could do with being better. This is particularly noticeable when playing with 0 bar passing.
- A proper shielding mechanic is needed.
- Double Touch move should have stayed how it was in June playtest code. There it was simply a case of flicking the right stick to the left or right of the player while holding down the direction you were dribbling with left stick. Now it requires a quick release of left stick, input with right, then pushing forward with left again. It was far more intuitive in earlier codes.
- Manual low shots were executed with L2 + triangle in earlier codes. Should've stayed that way.
- I actually like the auto-step over malarkey from PES2012 as it added a little more character to certain players. Has it gone now?
- Too much Super Cancelling required for very simple tasks remains from PES2012.
- COM, while doing a little more in the way of lateral/backwards passing and slower build up in midfield, still is a little too direct in final third.
I am enjoying this game but with some caveats.
