PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Sorry to hear that. Sort of had a feeling this may be the case. Maybe with with more play time it'll blossom...

It my do mate, but honestly im still baffled at the two demo thing, because i see none of the improvements. First touch? Wheres that? Seems like Pes 2012.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I dont feel the thrill i did with Demo 1. Not sure what they have done in all honesty.

I feel much the same way.

I think it's mostly to do with the changed ball physics. They have taken the excitement of getting in front of goal away by making the shots so weak and slow, which makes it feel a lot like pes 2012. Your shot will probably bounce weirdly off the keeper or float right by him in the nets which makes keepers look bad, animations look bad and you get no satisfaction of creating the chance. Huge contrast with Demo 1 for me.

I really hope they will change this in a patch though, because im not looking forward to playing the demo all year.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I ve played over 100+ matches in pes 2013 DEMO v.1
And i was never bored, it was a thrilling, unpredictable, exciting soccer, with varying tempo, slow downs and explosions in pace.
It was REALLY SWEET.
In the final version from the very first match i noticed that KONAMI made a lot of tweak-downs. Perhaps demo was too good for a 2012 game.
Maybe next year we will see the Demo gameplay released in the final version + fox engine...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Does monitor refresh rate affect gameplay? As I've found the full game sluggish compared to the first demo running on my 120Hz monitor.

I'll switch to 60Hz tonight after I get home to test it.

Yes, had it on 75hz and it was really stuttery. 60hz runs like a dream.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Thought I'd start a Champions League Campaign with my beloved United before moving onto the Football Life/Master League/Football Fantasy with a less talented side.

In true United style, it hasn't been easy, first game vs Cluj I struggled massively to play my football and late in the second half Vidic concedes a sloppy penalty leading to us going 0-1 down at home. Then in the 82nd minute my patience paid off as Kagawa slid a nice through ball through the legs of the Cluj defender which Cleverley tidily finished. Queue intense pressure till in the 87th minute Kagawa again plays a nice chipped through ball to the on-rushing Valencia who smashes it into the top corner with a half volley. Certainly didn't deserve the win, but it felt good none the less.

The 2nd game away at Braga was a more controlled affair, led the possession stats with 60% though both teams created few chances. We won the game in the 71st minute when Nani played the ball back to Anderson who scored a rare goal from outside the area after it bounced off the post and in. Deserved the win this time, but still we haven't hit top form.

Enjoying the game so far, though I'm hoping there won't be any severe scripting as the campaign advances. I do agree with those that are saying it feels less free than the first demo though (didn't play the 2nd, so I can't comment), though it does feel more polished. I personally prefer the shooting in the full-game, I felt the shots in demo 1 were far too consistently powerful/spectacular.

Well i can safely say Pes 2013 is simply Pes 2012 only smoother.

And thats it.

It's exactly the same game.

I have yet to see any of the improved keeper animations i saw in demo 1. The graphics are absolutely horrible, i mean the goals are just boxes. The nets are unbelievably bad.

My wife just said whilst i was playing, that looks crap, it looks about 10 years old. And she doesnt even play games. Kind of says it all.

Yeah its smoother, its pace is good, i like the camera angles, but i dont feel the thrill i did with Demo 1. Not sure what they have done in all honesty. Its like they shit themselves after feedback and just tried to play it safe.

Theres no layers of 'deep tactical mechanics' theres nothing to learn, like a lot of people brag, theres no huge learning curve here, its just an average game. And ill be sticking it on when i fancy a break from the other game, just for the break. Damn shame.

Of course she did, ha ha. (insert Facepalm).

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

This "demo X was better", "they have toned down X,Y,Z aspect of the game too much" needs to stop. There is nothing in the final game that is dramatically different from the demo's and in my opinion certainly nothing that is worse.

I do think there is a patch or two needed to iron a few things (I think exit bursts out of deft-touch control need to be sharper for human control, especially for better/quicker dribblers) but the demo's simply weren't a million miles away from what we have finally got and I will say quite confidently the demo's are not better than the final game.

EDIT : I do also think there needs to be a button input to shield the ball; it is hideously random and considering the game is more physical it would help massively if a proper shielding mechanic was in place.

Just finished my third quick match on the MLO and all of a sudden my funds have reset to £500,000 :( Help! Matches are still logged though.

With all due respect Al, that's the beauty of forums though isn't it? If people want to say PES 2013 plays like 2012, 2011 or 2010 for that matter, then they should be free to express themselves. Personally, I thought the game was epic right until today. I still think it's an excellent game, still about 20 times better than FIFA in terms of gameplay, but something has changed for me after about 15-20 games of ML. The responsiveness of the lesser teams seems heightened whereas before each team and player was almost perfect. And I'm now starting to see more of those silly balls over the full back, cross, goes through my guy, goal. And more of the balls going through my players in general. Plus keeper parrying. My keeper in one game was going away from the outside of the post, saved it, and managed to parry it like 8 yards back across the goal to the CPU.

I've changed the game from zero assists to two bar because of this, when yesterday I was more than happy getting beaten on zero assists because the game felt balanced. It's like there's something in ML which just turns on and off to handicap the results.

Please don't get me wrong, like I say, this is still one hell of a game,

No, you need to stop patrolling all the PES forums and trying to supress any criticism of the game. You do this every year from what I understand -- defend PES like it's your baby and like it's the second coming. It's hawkish people like you that have contributed to holding PES back from achieving it's full potential this generation.

Those of you that use unassisted passing, whats your avg. pass completion? I'm averaging about 69%, tempted to knock it back to 1 bar but resisting at the moment.

80%

im tempted to break my fucking disc because no matter how well i play some dickhead will just press triangle or L1 + triangle, then score a 30yard screamer, all because of konamis fucking awful assistance filter. idiots

you mean manual lobbed through pass? Can you score like that?

Aye, that's right pal. I and a few others have single handedly held the game back. Flattered you find me and these select others to have such a big say. Completely and utterly wrong though.

I am voicing MY opinion and that is that I think people have it ingrained that something always changes for the worse come the final game. I can actually understand that to some degree, given previous releases but I feel this year there is no real discernible differences between demo and final game and those little issues that have existed throughout the codes/demos I have had exposure are still there. I just don't think anything has gotten any worse is all.

- I still think deft-touch control can be a little sticky and better players in particular don't exit out of it sharply enough.

- I DO think that the AI scripting in higher difficulties suffers from a little too much scripting post user goal or near end of half/match. I can accept scripting needs to exist and probably always will but it is a little too glaring on occasions.

- Heading on goal is still not right/pretty random and lacks any real logic I can identify.

- Keepers seem to be easily beaten with finesse shots. Keepers are better than previous releases but still don't inspire enough confidence. Awful in 1 v.1's.

- Loose ball win ratio v. COM is still an issue and even though player awareness has improved, it could do with being better. This is particularly noticeable when playing with 0 bar passing.

- A proper shielding mechanic is needed.

- Double Touch move should have stayed how it was in June playtest code. There it was simply a case of flicking the right stick to the left or right of the player while holding down the direction you were dribbling with left stick. Now it requires a quick release of left stick, input with right, then pushing forward with left again. It was far more intuitive in earlier codes.

- Manual low shots were executed with L2 + triangle in earlier codes. Should've stayed that way.

- I actually like the auto-step over malarkey from PES2012 as it added a little more character to certain players. Has it gone now?

- Too much Super Cancelling required for very simple tasks remains from PES2012.

- COM, while doing a little more in the way of lateral/backwards passing and slower build up in midfield, still is a little too direct in final third.

I am enjoying this game but with some caveats.

no just a normal lob through pass, on assisted. thats all people do on assisted, through pass through pass and even long range shots. so boring. and i cant stop playing them because it automatically matchs us up :RANT::RANT:

I don't get the infatuation with the demo's and I see nothing in the retail release that makes it worse than the demo's

Have you played the demo after playing retail? Because you must notice that shooting is a lot weaker, game is slower, keepers are worse and AI seems to me like it isn't making the runs into space like it did in demo 1(although I might be wrong there).

I'm 99.999% sure I am not imagining these things. Ok maybe the shooting in demo 1 needed some tweaking to make it a bit harder but the overall power and wheight of an average clear chance shot was practically perfect for me.

Actually she did Mr fan boy, and you would know this was a lie how?

For your information, and ill fill you in anyway, i have this on ps3 downstairs, and an xbox upstairs, which is why she noticed because she was sitting in the lounge.

But of course, dont want to be negative with Mr Pes himself. Im surprised they dont send you a free copy.

What apart from your players turning like a mersey ferry?

Cmon man theres loads different!

Im with you mate, its different. It feels like Pes 12 because it feels a chore to play. Its a chore to dribble, its a chore to sprint with the ball. Even the collision detection looks worse.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Whoever thinks demo v.1 was better than the final release, lets make a petition to the only one that can really help us.
Y A I R ! ! !
I sent him a pm asking for bringing back the demo's gameplay.
But i think that if its only me, he won't bother.
So, whoever wants it, send him a pm, asking the demo gameplay in final version. He said yesterday that demo was better than the final.
Lets encourage him to release a gameplay patch.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

maybe im wrong but the thing thats more real about pes than fifa is that ..and i could be wrong here as im usin gmy memory not playing the games for awhiel.

but...in pes u can play with the ball in opponents box..what i mean is when u play pes you are not guaranteed a goal igf u get in opponents box sometimes tehe defesne is deep and still defenders to beat and u can play football..whereas in fifa as soon as u get past back line on d you are just shooting at goal..so in other words hthere is no football to be played in the box..often in football unless a counter teams still have to play in theb box.

i could be totally wron gthough just a thoug ti had

I actually felt exactly the same way until about 45mins ago.

Finally, FINALLY feel as though I have cracked dribbling to some degree. Beginning to notice that even just a feather of R2 as you approach then bursting in just about any direction with sprint results in you wrong footing or simply boosting past opposition players. All dependant on the player in possession of course.

I was guilty before of holding R2 a little too long until the deft touch animations initiated before bursting with sprint or changing direction but you don't need the animations to start to reap the benefits if that makes any sense.

Now on to mastering the feel of dynamic first touch which if I am being honest I have struggled with since the demo's. Can you have the left stick pushed in a direction when you look to press R2 at the right time? I know I am doing it sometimes as there is a rather satisfying burst when the player traps perfectly but just curious as to some of the finer points as the training challenge mode is completely useless for educating one on the nuances of control.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Game is already being sold in Brasil by non-official stores... if you are in Brasil, of course :P

That's the thing, I'm living in the UK now. My mates already bought the UK version but I'm holding on for the US version to have Silvio Luis cracking me up with his priceless commentaries :D

Oh, and I wonder how the non-official stores in Brazil got hold of the American BLUS version before it was even released! :P

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

when i watch football on tv it looks like pes...not sayin g fifa isnt fun but pes looks like a real football game..

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Been having a bit more 'fun' combined with realism on Superstar, two bar. May even crank it to one bar. I feel zero assist against a slightly unbalanced CPU was become a little tiresome and needing a little too much concentration v enjoyment. Back to enjoying the game more, even though I feel like I'm cheating a bit lol.

Non gamer or not, she made an observation, and a good one. I didnt have anything to say in its defence.

What difficulty do you guys think is most realistic? Ive seen posts where people have been playing professional, top player, and superstar all saying that its balanced :P
