I am with cro on this.

People would not understand the frustration when you play 0 assist and people play with assist on. 1 bar is not unassisted you could (ON PES2012) pass the ball around with gay abandon and very seldom was it possible to get one over a non assisted player. No matter what the level of player.

On PES2013 it still seems prevalent. On 1 bar I can dominate the CPU on 0 bars I can hardly create scoring opportunities.

I hope to hell there is some sort of filter to mot have an assisted and unassisted player in a match room as it kills the experience.

I played on 4, 3, 2, 1 and 0 pass assistance.

The difference between 4 and 1 is... The power helping and slight aiming correction (pretty much like in FIFA 12 manual/semi-manual).

The 0 assistance is free ride where you have to aim well and get that power of pass right. The problem is, power bar inconsistency in that mode and your teammates AI not knowing what you're going to do. This needs sorting out badly.

It takes away from enjoyment of manual passing... :/.

The passing ratio doesn't change that much in any of the above. I'm for now sticking with default 3 bars and there are games vs AI where passing accuracy drops to 70%. Mostly it's ~78-85%.

So it's definitely not FIFA (where you can keep it in high 90s if you so desire <lol>).

Each one plays the game how he wants to play it. I hate that superiority talk going around manual players (on FIFA it's absolute plague!).

I don't get it either. Just give people either stat-related or completely manual.

Plus what are the arguments here about? One side is on about assisted offline who don't play online while the other is on about manual online and don't play offline? Then I don't see why there's an argument?

Yeah Jamez - PES 2011 was great in that regard.

I actually don't think that the real problem is with how much assistance 1-4 provide, it's more to do with the lack of consistency with 0 bars. Like Lami said, they could make it fully manual. Then once you have 0 mastered, you should be able to hold your own (and in some instances, gain an advantage) over guys with 1-2 bars.

Info nailed it for me when he said it's your AI teammates not knowing what you're going to do on full manual which is very annoying and often the reason the flow of the game gets killed. If they can fix this then I would give manual more of a chance maybe.

That wasn't really the argument as it turns out. Assisted players were being unfairly criticised and tarnished, hence why Tim and I responded.

I must admit I had a dabble with 1-Bar for a while on the demo, and there is a big difference between that and Zero Assistance. The weight of the pass is almost always perfect, but I also felt that there were occasions where the CPU played the pass to a different player to the one intended. I didn't like that at all.

I do feel that Zero isn't refined enough or fully implemented fully on this demo. And essentially, that's all that this is, a very early, albeit polished first offering.

I do think that playing with any sort of assistance is a totally different kind of game. Not to say that one is better than the other, as I don't believe that to be the case. Different strokes for different folks. I quite enjoyed the 1-Bar experience for the most part, it gave me the chance to play some stunning football, and a lot of one-touch triangular play.

I personally still prefer the Zero option though, I just feel that there is more error, and for me personally, it makes it more rewarding. Even with the obvious current frustrations.

They need to segregate online though, it took Fifa a couple of year to realise this, there is no excuse for Konami. If anything, they should have learnt immmediately from Fifa's early error with the whole Manual v Assisted online debacle.

Konami should just make zero-bar the same as L2-manual, but make sure that stats have an influence on vision and success.

You can't. And that is the difference between Fifa and PES in that regard. Zero Assistance doesnt actually mean fully manual. There is still assistance. I find that is pretty much the same with L2.

Edit - Also, I find that offline play can benefit from the assistance levels. As an example, when I have my mates over for our weekly Lads Night, the least experienced players that don't own PES will probably be given 1-Bar, the rest of us will be Zero. It's a slight handicap that really does level out the playing field across the board.

well thats what it's all about it, isnt it

if there is any assistence to the aiming there will always be problems as the computer will register that you may want to be passing to different players.

therefore i think the best approach to make aiming fully manual, but the individualness comes down to passing power and passing technique - which is in essence can all be controlled with the power bar.

e.g. pirlo power bar should be made so that it is very easy to get the right amount of power you want in the pass, also the bar stays reasonably consistent for most passes like off balance pass or backheel pass - things which require high technique - pirlos power bar will remain around the same making for pretty easy and consistent passes.

a player like carroll however will have a hard to control power bar that will power up very fast, making the timing very hard to control, then for passes like off balance or backheels it would power up even faster making it extremely difficult to get right.

so stats make a difference, but not for aiming

people may think that is removing individuality, in some ways it is but in a lot of ways it is not. i mean, this is a game, which humans control. indiviuduality has always taken a backseat in some ways to let us play the game - e.g. you would never see crap players pass it around with the vision and speed like a very good PES player makes them - or you would never see a crap player make and amazing dribbling run like a good PES player makes them - true individuality i only for a game like FM where you give 2 teams stats and let it play out with no intervention.


so basically - aiming full manual, power bar speed stat influenced

:LOL: I find it amusing when people take these games so seriously that the idea of playing on 1 bar passing assist is button mashing and such, its a video game, if you want to test the extremes of how hard is to pass a ball 5 yards for you let alone a professional go outside and play a bit of football.

Think they're punishing the PC users for our time extenders, damn them! :P

Doubt I'll even bother to dig out my PS3 or Xbox to be honest, quite content with the first demo for now.

second demo is coming only at the start of September for the PC version, it's funny that konami punish us, we are making Their games playable, even pes2013 has so many problems so in the end they need us but this action bring down my motivation to work on Their game.

Isnt the no assistance passing the same as it was in 2012? Going from the demo to 2012 I never got the feeling that the passing in 2013 was not a finished article, I thought the problems in 2013 were in 2012 too.
Talking about error I found that when passing with Deco there was a greater chance of it because he had a greater range of passing, especially when using the manual modifier which really shines with the better passers.

Sorry to say it mate, but you need to practice more on 0 pass support, consistancy is not an issue.

Give it more time, and don't expect miracles. Look at the players you're using, their preferred foot, the angle and the weight, you will find that 0 support is the closest thing to mimicing real football.

I've had thousands of matches on zero, the flow is just fine if you pick your passes and play clever football. Fatigue also plays a MUCH BIGGER role on zero assist.

Jimmy and Zee can attest to this I'm sure.

If FIFA takes stats into account and passes need to be different when passing the same pass with Lovren or with Srna, then yes it is.

From what I've read, FIFA's manual does not take stats into account. PES does.

You reckon PES 0 assistance disregards stats???? Have you played more than a half on 0 pass support?

I have never felt Zero Assistance on Demo 1 had been fully implemented properly. It felt far less forgiving than PES 12. In my opinion.

I stand corrected. I'm still living in the times when Fifa's stats meant nothing. I appreciate they now do.

The way Konami have taken the initiative this year in terms of the early release and getting a head start on FIFA is promising.

Hopefully the full game won't disappoint because it looks increasingly like a lot of people who gave up on PES a few years back are being tempted back.
