PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yes true, I think Charlton do the same, though £25 is the top price bracket.

Never mind, back to PES eh!

I'm now going to play with the new camera's Jenkey has just released, I think Wide Broadcast will be the one I stick with for the full game. Speaking of the full game I really hope someone releases a patch with the Championship teams in it!

I haven't played around with the camera settings yet. I quite like wide, normal-long and pitchside. Widecam used to look terrible on consoles because of the loss of detail but on the PC it looks really sharp so I've gone back to using it more.

Any camera settings you recommend?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

is there a way to play using the D-pad instead of left stick on PS3?
if i have to use the left stick in full version to move, it'd be a massive turn off for me :(

i've already bought the champion's league edition: ;)

EDIT: what was that PES (or Winning Eleven) that had the olympic teams?
it could've been a great addition, but i highly doubt it

Can any of the PC contingent recommend any respectable leagues?

Used to be part of Evo-Elite and PESLadder, but i doubt either is active anymore.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Have you seen Barcelona vs Madrid? Ronaldo makes a nice goal with a header and Barcelona immediately equalises with Pedro not being played offside by that stupid Madrid-defender.

If that happened in PES, and it happened alot in PES 2012, I would have screamed cheating.:))

Oh, and have you seen Valdes trying to dribble against Di Maria? Lol!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Iniesta was immense in this game. And I'm so glad the ref didn't blow a foul against Di Maria. If a player takes you on and loses the ball because of poor control, even the keeper, then you shouldn't win a foul for going down easily. Cracking pace for a game which doesn't really have a lot of importance at this time of year.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Sorry to say it mate, but you need to practice more on 0 pass support, consistancy is not an issue.

Give it more time, and don't expect miracles. Look at the players you're using, their preferred foot, the angle and the weight, you will find that 0 support is the closest thing to mimicing real football.

Bro - I don't mean inconsistency in outcome because of my skill. I was referring an interview with Kei Masuda the other day and he said they will be working on zero bar passing because of inconsistencies noted by users. In particular first time passes, if my memory serves me right.

Not to sound like a prick here, but I do know of the various factors to take into account and I've played zero bar on 2012 for a fair while along with full manual on FIFA but to me, on the first demo this year, zero bar felt a little off.

And for me it depends too on how the AI difficulties are tuned. If the AI plays better on Superstar, for example, then I probably will need to use 2 bar to compete. If I use 0 bar and play against the AI on Regular or Professional, for arguments sake, I might not have as good a game balance as a different combination. Time will tell but cheers for the comments.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I'm strictly talking about online CC mate, I never play vs. CPU and pass assist vs. machine is not gaining an advantage like vs. a real person.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

No probs.

For anyone in Australia, the Four Four Two magazine here is hosting a PES 13 night on September 19th in Sydney. You can enter the competition via this link: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/competition.aspx?CIaCID=598

Could indicate that the game is out the following week since one of the prizes says "PES 13 game (a week before release)". Hopefully lol.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

1-bar passing is like PES 2011’s semi assisted passing. You can occasionally knock it slightly to the side/into space of whomever you’re aiming it, but its still nothing compared to the freedom of zero, and it is still possible to ping pong it if you really want to.

Nowadays when I play online I play a mix of unassisted and 1 bar passing, alternating games one with the other. With zero you get more freedom but an imbalance, with 1-bar you get less freedom but more balance. That way I’m not always locked to having an imbalance, and I’m not always locked to playing with less freedom. I play with more freedom one match, more balance the other match, replaying the same team for both matches. Its 50/50.

Until they give us zero assisted lobbies I’ll play the public online modes that way, outside of the likes of zero assist communities like PEEL (which I will join when I get a PS3).

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

No probs Lami. Thinking of heading down? I'm at a busy time for work so I can't fly over, otherwise it would have been an excuse for me to visit Sydney :P

Couple hour drive for ya?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

For me the bars are not an issue, I can play on zero bars just fine.

The problem with the game is inherent I believe until the new engine, and that is the total imbalance between the rules that the human player has to abide by to get from A to B to C, compared with the CPU counterpart. Because the CPU play a direct breathless game, I feel the game becoming a chore, in that I am forced to play patient 'real' football on zero assists, Superstar mode, whilst ANY CPU team looks to hit me with the same direct patterns over and over again.

This skews the game further in my book, more than say 2012, as possession stats are totally out of whack as it never feels like the CPU play on zero assists. My possession never dips below 65%, sometimes reaching as high as 70-73%. This isn't good.

The problem is deep I fear. The CPU hardly ever look to go back, or indeed sideways. They never look to maintain possession in their defensive third for periods of time to force me out of position. Why? Because they don't have to. Eventually passing lanes will open, because the game is designed to go forwards, forwards, all the time. When was the last time the CPU held possession for say 30 seconds to a minute of earth time? Never! And that is the problem. My point goes hand in hand with Henry's Hand (no pun intended) points, in that a real time stamina system MUST be introduced to force the game (both human AND CPU) to slow down and have moments of breathing space.

Zero assist may be just fine v Professional mode or whatever, but Top Player and Superstar, by now, should be the ultimate in simulation experience. It should simulate football both for the human and the human should feel that the CPU is simulating football too. Knock 2011 all you want, I feel the game balance was close to the real thing, they just needed to make the CPU more patient again whilst freeing up the rails.

All it seems I'm doing at the moment is grabbing the CPU by its coat-tails as it mounts yet another direct, central attack. I'm constantly forcing the game to slow the fk down. I'm begging Pirlo to keep possession and pass back and sideways if blocked. I'm begging Ibrahimovic to stop, turn back and pass the ball back into midfield instead of going solo for the 80th time.

The main flaw, and it's breaking the game for me, is the CPU's total lack of pitch/human player awareness. They attack with total abandon as if losing possession anywhere on the pitch is just fine. I'm also getting pissed off at the space in midfield on counter attacks, it seems the defensive AI never pushes up congesting the pitch, just leaving acres if midfield area to mount yet another breathless attack.

Until a game, both FIFA and PES, begin to replicate a real game of football in terms of patience and player awareness, and to get the CPU to move me about in a focused planned manner from defence through the midfield instead of going all Maradona on my ass, then I'm going to continue to be disappointed. What is 2013 so far? Probably a 7/10 effort in my eyes. But in 2013 I now expect and now demand even more. At the moment there's not enough in the demo to suggest I'm going to be shelling out for this year's iteration. It's just too close to a patched up Jenkey's 2012 version for my liking with some first touch and movement alterations.

I really hope the 2nd demo will prove me wrong.

Car would take me 45mins max. If I go I'd take the train. So probably about an hr.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Go check it out bro. If I could take time off I would have flown in and grabbed a snow egg from Quay restaurant while I was there. Have you seen those?

Yes you can.

You need to go into Button Config and right at the top there is an option to control with Left Stick + D-Pad, just Left Stick or just D-Pad. Just press left or right to scroll through the options.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

care to elaborate? Care to give it a go and argue how assisted passing somehow takes more skill against an unassisted player? As I said, I'm all ears....

Frankily speaking, I don't care about ass vs unass play, why? Because i've already done it plenty of times. I'm a diehard pes player, so i don't care about that nonsense.

I don't get it either. Just give people either stat-related or completely manual.

Plus what are the arguments here about? One side is on about assisted offline who don't play online while the other is on about manual online and don't play offline? Then I don't see why there's an argument?
In my case, my initial point was about manual passing being inconsistent, so therefor i'm not using it. I think manual pass should be like pass ass 1 but with manual aim. But that's just my idea.

Now all of a sudden everyone is talking about completely different things.

Besides Murphy said they're working on the manual passing etc, in the latest gamescom video.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

yes u can play online with mods only if the exe is modded u can not play....but every patch has a detailed description about how u can play with them online, and i strongly suggest to use a complete patch not seperate stadiums, faces, etc its much more easier to install, it has everything and its safer

Hi Dannyfc2, I myself was originally from Pesladder in the day. I am now playing on evo-league which has a small following but has kept alive during the demise of the pes series.

We had a good 30 players for pes2012 but alot have since drifted away which has forced uus back to PES6 2v2 mainly.

Hopefully if pes2013 gets enough peoples interest we may get enough people to play in a league.

Anyway take a look or even pop into the chat, everyone in there would be glad to help if you need any.

Very good post pretty much sums up frustration for most of us..give us a mature game of football..

"Performer Streaming" a la FIFA in PES2013

- Performer Streaming : Un copier-coller venu tout droit de Fifa. Il s'agit tout simplement d'un terrain d'entraînement qui remplace la plupart des temps de chargement du jeu.

nice, now we don't have loading screen we can play in a training ground until the game start just like fifa :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Can't they think up their own ideas instead of stealing Fifa's? etc. etc.

I mean taking a nice feature from one game and using it to enhance another game drives me insane! If they keep that sort of thing up then the game will only get better and better, damn them!

:P

Though it's a good idea and i'd be happy for it on my consoles, the loading times on my PC are non-existent due to having PES installed on an SSD.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

i have one of these controllers. basically you can control how high/low your triggers are set, so it can help with games like cod where you want to shoot fast... for pes 2013 demo i have put my left trigger all the way down so manual passing always on and i tell you it is a joy to play... the game flows amazingly

Trigger-Stop+-Hair-trigger.jpg

by the way anyone wanting to play full manual you could just put tape or something over the shoulder button.. trust me the game is really good with constant full manual... and dare i say it, the arrows are pretty great to! (when the trailer first came out i thought they were incredibly stupid..)

There is no loading screen in PES...

If at all it shows a loading icon for 2 seconds if you want to skip the intro in the first few moments.
