PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

well yes and no Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and several Pacific island nations all call it soccer

new zealand sumtimes call rugby football

Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday Soccer AM.

the word soccer is widely used

Sure. No use in arguing against you.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Football Evolution would do. Quite like that.

Either would work for me. Futbol would be good with Konami's leaning heavily on Spanish/Soutn American licenses and it would avoid confusion with the markets that for whatever reason call some odd games football.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

In Ireland only the culchies call it soccer. It's how we could distinguish them from us town folk in school.

Gaelic football is our national sport it is called football in every county from wexford to belfast its called football just do a google search b4 u post such nonsense

Football is called football in the north. Belfast men calling it soccer? lol Gaelic football is known to us as Gaelic.

We have no national sport. GAA is just one sport that's bigger in the south, but isn't even close to football up north.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Brave, but Konami have nothing to lose by doing so. Besides, the rebranding from ISS to PES had no negative impact. I don't think they would lose sales at all, rather create a lot of interest.

You've pretty much agreed with what I said. :))People like you and I see FIFA for what it is underneath, but for the majority casual audience, the "outer shell" is exactly what they want from a football game. It does the things it needs to in order to sell to it's target market, and it does them very well.

The "outer shell" is next-gen. That's why it sells. The kind of depth PES offers is wasted on 90% of FIFA players.

Aah yeah I get you.

This is football was intersting they went hard into marketing I remember seeing a lot of ads and so forth when they decided to get in and for a wee bit looked like getting a foothold witha few FIFPRO licenses and of course jumpers for goalposts LOL but in the end the just faded into nothing. Its a real pity.

I know what soccer is, but I also know what football, futbol, fussball, calcio was as well.

Yeah, sorry if a bit too strong on the football point in Ireland. It's one of those big 26/6 culture differences.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Maybe they could call it Konami Association Football. Winning Eleven works for me but they aren't going to change the name we all know that.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Just call it "14" lol. I honestly don't care, as far as I'm concerned it could be called "Barbie: Horse Adventures - Mystery Ride."

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

They should try to get backing from UEFA "UEFA Football/Soccer 13"

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

For PS3 users: I'd recommend you guys to create a japanese account on PSN, because the Winning Eleven 2013 version will most likely be avaliable hours eariler than PES 2013 version on US and EUR psn's, and it's good to play the two versions and see if there are differences.

Last year this is what I did. I think it was there after midngight here in Brazil.

That's what I do. Since I live in the Eastern Time Zone what time would the Japanese demo drop on PSN Japan? Any ideas?

I don't have any idea, but I'm 90% sure that last year I downloaded the WE2012 demo after midnight in Brazil's time, really late, probably around 2:00AM.

Brazil's time is four hours of difference from UK's time (4 hours earlier).

We will know it when tuesday comes.:))

One question.
in PES 2013, can I get out of the rails like hmmm... fifa?
You know, that freedom stuff we heard before PES 2011 release.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

It's one of this year's supposed features, the fact that you have absolute control over player with the cursor almost immediately
