PES 2013 Discussion Thread

That is a better reply, not perfect (but nothing will be for us really - we just want the mode back)

We can only hope when the PES London studio opens up that we get better communication of European Gamers wishes being fed back to Tokyo, even if it means one day the game loads up and there are two bars on the screen ...

One saying 'Simulation' the other saying 'Mindless Arcade Fun' with an arrow to choose between them.

They are not, I quite like them in PES. Probably because game is realistic speed though.

Which reminds me what speed settings does everyone play with?

@Bob21 - that's the e-mail that annoyed me - I pulled them up on addressing me as "Dear customer" and I signed it "Regards, "Customer"".

So at least they bothered to give me a personal reply this time.
 
So the cpu scored its first dodgy goal (I'm about 20 games into ML). First of all, I must admit that I fecked up in midfield by trying a 1-2 from the circle and when I was intercepted my back four were completely exposed. Anyway the ball goes to the wing and their LMF cuts inside (again, I had the chance to jockey but in panic attempted a tackle and got skinned). So the LMF attempts what I assume is a knuckleball right from the line that clearly bounces out of bounds. In slow motion replay the whole of the ball has bounced on the wrong side of the whole of the line. That part, actually I can forgive and kind of take pleasure in. The officials are wrong so much in real life. But then my keeper attempts a save and the ball ghosts through his chest. This kind of thing happened a lot in 2012 (especially legs going through legs, etc). It was disappointing to see this again, to say the least.

The part that really bothers me is that I might score a goal in this way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I've just been loving this game after the horribleness of 2012.

One goal that bugs me is crossing to the near post, the keeper dives away from it leaving an easy goal, not sure if he is diving to save the cross or diving to save where the shot or the usual diving header is thought to be going or what but its a cheap goal, not many in the game, if he just stayed on his near post narrowing the angle it would be far more realistic.
 
next year will go something like this:

Fox Engine has many problems, but we listened to the fans and now got league mode.

And everyone will be cheering and KONAMI will be laughing again.
 
I have questions friends...

1. In ML do I have to play with the boots thing? I read it can be ignored but everyone has 'black boots' if this is the case? Is this true?

2. I have read that October's patch will include a Communities Mode where '8 players can play simutaniously'. Does this mean 2v2 will be back?

Sorry for my poor spelling.
 
Answer to first question you can ignore it but all your players will have black boots. The CPU will start adding boots to their players, when you sign other players they normally come with colour boots which have stat boosts. If you just pretend its not there not really a deal breaker to be honest up to you to decide.

I've decided not to write to Konami. I'm still pissed off at what they did to the game. But they clearly don't give a fuck anyway. So I'm thinking about going viral on their asses.

I created one of those Hitler rant videos. This one came out actually pretty funny :)

Disclaimer: not all opinions voiced by Hitler are the same as mine - it was just to better fit the video ;)

So far I've got a 2 pairs of Mizuno boots, the Morelia Neo and the Wave Ignitus, a pair of Umbro Speciali's, a pair of Adidas Adizero F50's and a few pairs of generic PES boots. The the boots themselves look fine to be honest, even the PES one's.

That video is the best I've seen in years. "Magic boots with stat boosting' was like it was synced. Hilarious. :WORSHIP: @ the creator.
 
I'll have to check out this video from home tonight...seems like it's worth watching lol.

Anyways, I've just played a few games on Top Player, in cup mode and 15 min matches and I think I've found where it's at "for me". CPU played the ball around much more than I've ever seen and scored a glorious goal from a passing move, without the usual sped up animations.

I've thrown it on 0 bar and manual shooting - like Lami said recently, I'm not sure which of the factors is helping but I'm really enjoying the games against the AI now. Not felt cheated yet and to see them pass around so much is great. Still see the occasional dumb hoof out of play or to clear it but not as much.

Was still able to create a few chances myself and score a couple of nice goals which was good. Played a copa game where I felt the AI was too direct and checked their game plan to see they had Long Ball selected and only 1 up front with two deep midfielders. In the return leg I noticed they had a different formation set up and they played accordingly.

Must try a ML campaign soon and see how it goes - plus I get day matches which look better lol.

p.s. Using the early cross button with a fair bit of power has gotten me a couple of nice headed goals too ;)
 
This game is brilliant.

The sheer variety of play is staggering. Had four games in a row last nigh to finish off my first season campaign and the range was incredible A comfortable 1-0 win v West Brom in which they sat back. I scored quite late on but was always the better side. They then came at me last 15 minutes, but I held on. Second was the last game of the season, losing 1-0 to Fulham at Craven.

Into the new season beat the new boys 2-0, before an exhilarating game v Chelsea at the Bridge. Chelsea hit me with everything they had and at half time it was miraculously 0-0 after Chelsea had 17 shots and 12 on target to my 5 shots. Second half it was a different Mata (so to speak), I played an extra midfielder and decided to man mark Torres with him, the game flipped on its head. Although Chelsea were still dangerous I was creeping back into the game. Suarez had some space finally in the 75th minute to unleash a devastating drive, 1-0. Chelsea came back strong and Reina was out of this world, multiple saves, world class ones too. Then a free kick into the box with Adam with lofted R2, a cushioned header back away from goal for Sterling to nod with power for 2-0......the fist pumping began!

This game has definitely got 'it' this year. It was back to its sweaty palm best last night. The ricochets, the goal scrambles, the periods of midfield scrapping as teams can't retain possession, the pinball frenzied five minutes, then calm restored with both teams passing it slowly. Great stuff.

Manual passing is a dream this year. Totally and utterly a dream. It makes the game so much richer because you start cherishing each and every player ten times more in terms of what they can pull off and what they can't. Players like Shelvey for example, when I hit that 50/50 ball and it goes wayward or too hard or whatever I just smile and think 'unlucky lad' because you know it's out of his remit. I seem more in love with the players BECAUSE of their failings this year if you can understand that. It makes me want to developy players for the first time and give squad players more of a chance for the first time in ages, because I can see and feel the difference between almost every player.

Suarez, I can try anything....literally anything. His explosiveness is awesome and he is the threat each and every match in the final third. When Gerrard's playing I almost never lose. Sold Enrique (for an outrageous amount mind) and brought in this other guy and immediately you can see and feel the differences between the two. Some bad, some good. For example, the new guy is keen to overlap and get the ball in early and has an equally good left foot as Enrique had. Meanwhile I'm investing a lot of time and energy into players like Borini, Sterling, and even like Robinson. Carroll has hardly played a game, whereas last year his over-powering heading ability ensured he was first on the team sheet...even ahead of Gerrard and Suarez!

I can't say enough good things about this game. I've got two full games if anybody wants me to break them down and analyse them in terms of giving some tips and tactics in Superstar mode. I'll also put up some good goals I've scored so far in Superstar.

New season......2 from 2 :) Could it be my year?
 
I done excalty what I said you shouldnt do and last night flipped between fifa13 and pes13. No competetion this year. PES13 is the winner by a mile when it comes to where it matters. The pitch.
 
Great stuff ccshopland been having some epic games on ml too.

Was up 3-2 in the first half where I stupidly let them back in the game twice. Sorted out my tactics at half time, it was a completely different game in the 2nd half they were all over me. Sending balls into the box at every opportunity, my keeper was on fire. Kept trying to counter them but kept missing the final pass. Managed to hold on some how felt really satisfying to hear the final wistle.

Another game where I was 1-0 down and managed to equalise in 80th minute. The final 10 minutes were crazy what went from a slow paced game into a cup tie like pace, both teams desperately going for the win ball going back and forth to
each box. It ended 1-1 but probaly the best match I've had on this.

Quick question what's the difference between top player and superstar? not tried superstar yet
