The new R2 Clipped High Pass with backspin. Perfect to clear players on tight areas. Love it.

This is a L2 Manual High Pass from Ronny with R2 aftertouch to reduce the speed of pass.

First link, very slick i'm using that too, this was actually never possible in PES afaik.

Second link, thanks for the R2 aftertouch mention, because i noticed that i was using it too for some reason, just not quite sure what it was. There's a lot of aftertouch feedback in this game after short, long and high passes, it's very subtle and/or yet outrageous at times.

Just test it out, if you pass with R2 held down, it's more tight and controlled. If you pass then press r2, not only will u get a pass and go (situational), but the pass is usually a tad weaker unless you powered it correctly. Maybe it's placebo but i doubt it 'cause i've even felt this on assisted pass settings.

This goes for ground passes

So earning items in ML online allows you to use them in the offline ML? Hmm, I might need to go online for a bit in that case.

Oh and Jimmy, is there anything you can do to add backspin or is it a natural side effect of using R2 on through balls? Must admit I haven't tried through passes with R2. Has never occurred to me, which is odd because I pretty much use R2 for everything else, especially passing now that I'm on zero assistance. Makes each pass just that little but more accurate, as if R2 is making your player concentrate more ;)

Question:

Is it still possible to let the ball go, and run after it from a pass into space or a strong pass, like we could in earlier PES games by holding the direction of the pass + sprint? I barely played PES '11/'12 but i'm sure this was still possible in '10.

I tried supercancel and the aforementioned controls but (i think) it seems that it only works selectively, for ex: when there's very much space on a counter or/and with certain players as i'm sure i saw Higuain do this a few times.

Finally understand the game and my team, it's taken around three quarters of a ML season.

As Jimmy says, zero assist is fkin perfect this year. I'll put a clip up later of a Gerrard pass that highlights how good it is plus an Adam left foot pass.

I've also cracked -1 now and stepped back up to gamespeed 0, where the game should be. I just needed to take a step back slow everything down to see where I was going wrong in terms of rushing build up play and being too panicky against teams playing a high line high pressure game. I'm also now totally understanding of the game mechanics in terms of player runs.

Today has taken this game to the next level for me now. Just such an incredible game. It really is.

From PESGaming forum:

I have finally got a reply from Konami about League Mode and it doesnt sound promising-

"Dear customer,

Thank you very much for contacting the Konami customer support team.

We are sorry about your disappointment and we understand the League mode was one of the most cherished playing modes for some PES players. However, the decisions made by our PES Team have been directed by:

- the vision of an ever better game experience for our users

- assuring a variety of team and professional players which better represents your preferences

- your suggestions collected over the years, one edition after the other.

We can confirm that there will be other modes to play with your friends and fellows online, such as the Master League Online and, with the data pack available in October, the Online Community mode.

Best regards,

Your Konami Support Team"

Load of bollocks if you ask me, if theyd collected our suggestions over the years im sure none would say remove league mode, but i bet a lot would have asked for a multiplayer master league, ever better game? my arse, come on konami get your finger out.

Goto https://uk.secure.konami-europe.com/support.do and hammer them with your emails complaining about lack of league mode

This makes no sense. They understand (correctly) that league mode was cherished, yet remove it. What kind of company does that?

Proof - if it were needed - that Konami does not listen to their fan-base and does not care about them.

It appears more evident to me that removal of league mode was a corporate driven decision which is linked to the new master league features. Removing a 'cherished' mode, by their own admission, has no logic whatsoever.

It also saddens me how readily the community will support these poor decisions. That's the worst thing to me.

I fear that my 15+ years of buying Konami football games is coming to an end, regardless of promises of new engines and overhauls.

Konami really are a bunch of rank amateurs.

It's almost like Konami said to themselves, "Look, we have a fixed group of fans who buy our game every year... what could we possibly do to change that? What can we do to piss off our most loyal buyers?"

Totally disagree, they have it spot on in my opinion. It's all real-life technique and stat related. How anyone could want the ridiculously overpowered shooting from Demo 1 is beyond me.

Demo 1 was overpowered, but retail is imho way underpowered.

The satisfactory zip is missing that shooting can develop in real life football. Just to make it clear: In real life football most players, even those from the 3rd-league or lower, can shoot with remarkable zip when they have the space and time to get that power on the ball. In the game that zip is missing, it feels lame and unsatisfactory.

I'm all for stats and taking into consideration body-balance, pressure, space... so demo1 was a bit unrealistic as these things played only a little role, and therefore prefer the demo2-model, but when having the right balance, the right player, enough space... the shot should have that zip that gives satisfaction.

Even when being pressurized, ie. not having enough time, what should suffer is the aim, not the power.

I have two questions that keeps me awake?

1. I'm the only one that keeps playing Next Gen PES with the D-Pad?

2. For those who play in 0 assist. All of you plays with Analog?

Yes, analogue is the way to go. Why would you restrict yourself with the d-pad?

1. no, youre not. in fact quite a few people do, which is why konami is still using crappy d-pad mechanics in core places of their game. i watched some youtube videos of gamescom where they got guests to play pes - pretty sure everyone of them used the dpad.

2. yes, of course. i couldnt imagine what the hell it would be like to do that, is that even possible lol ?

You can't add backspin without using that R2 side-clip high pass in the first video. You can slow the weight of the High-Througball by tapping R2 afterwards but that's it. It won't show the same animation ala Video 1 though.

As for Zero and the Analogue Stick, for me it's a must, you can't get the variation in angles that you need on this system without using the stick. Or at least I can't. The D-Pad feels alien to me now.

Yes, it's R2 and the direction you wish to move to, or, Sprint and R2 + the direction you wish the ball to move to. I use this all the time, both variations. You just have to time it perfectly.

Yeah, since the birth of the saga i play with D-Pad. I feel that playing a footy game with analog the timing to move players and choosing direction are slowish than the D-Pad.
Just feel that the analog is designed for 3D environment, third or first person camera (like Mario 64 or Skyrim) or Be a Legend Camera on PES.

More ML overdrive bobbar. Played three games just now. First a Serie A game (with AS Roma) at Milan and it ended 2-2 after a cheat-free match. Really good fun and I gave them a late equalizer. But the following games against Bayer Leverkusen in the EL and against Inter in the Italian Cup, both at home, were spoilt terribly by last ditch cheating on the CPU's behalf.

Against Bayer I went 'all out attack' and nabbed a first half hat-trick with Destro, who by the way is a hero. After half-time, the passing, movement and accuracy by Bayer were suddenly sub-human. Schurlle was like Ronaldo and Kießling similar to Llorente and both totally unstoppable, scoring 5 between them in the 25 minutes after half-time. Nothing but unresponsive controls handed to me and super secret golden boots for them, painted black to cover up the design on the side saying "Barry Bullshit". Somehow I salvaged a draw. Against Inter, I was two goals up with 10 minutes to go and suffered to both the 'never-ending deflections until your flying blocks can work no more' goal with added disabled clearance bonus mode, and the one I mentioned earlier today, the needle in a haystack 'keeper parries past 4 defending players straight to the attacker who will always slot it through a tiny gap'.

I then conceded a third, their winning goal, as I was busy mouthing off about this to the wife who was interested, but straightening her hair and not that interested, so it got my goat a little more at the time and I turned it off. I can't be doing with this turd in ML for months on end, I'll lose interest far quicker. Definitely feel the Cup matches are coded like a bitch.

guys ive just worked out a new manual tactic

for 1-2s you can auto lock your second pass (contradictoty, i know :P but )

just hold L1 + pass like a normal 1-2, then for the receiever dont press any direction - just press the pass button, and it will automatically pass back to the original passer

it seems a really cool feature. what isnt cool however is it doesnt account for the power bar, it will hone onto the original passer no matter what, even if you tap pass or hold it to full bar..

im having so much fun with pes 2013 demo that i have almost for the first time in my pes history have almost forgotten the full release of the game :), just the way ronaldo runs and curves that ball, almost better than sex

I just use manual shot. can be pretty thumping.

I still cannot execute the R2 Controlled Shot with the inside of the foot as it was on PES6 PS2. Immediately after I press the square button, I press R2 and the player does this new ugly curling the ball animation.

Can someone please post a video showing if the old animation is still in there and how to properly execute it?

thanxxx!
