Yes it is more consistent, therefore there is more assistance if you think about it. Assisted with regards the ball actually now goes where we intend, rather than short, long, or indifferent in direction. In PES 2012, at times, we always felt we had judged the weight right, only for it to fall short or be mis-directed. This isn't the case now. If anything, PES 2012 was more manual at times, but that didn't make the game as free as it it now. Too many inconsistencies.

I read on WENB that the BLES code that makes you have to use a specific OF doesnt not make a difference anymore, you can use whatever OF you like.

As for unassisted shooting, it's rubbish in my opinion.

you simply didnt direct the stick int he right direction, imo

shots seems to take into account technique (body positioning) which effects the power, not the accuracy.

i was having this problem, i must have tried maybe 50 times on one bar passing failing each time, quickly changed to 3 bar passing and completed it first time

The Long Passing Challenge is a pain in the arse for me as well.

Although a friend of mine told me that he had completed it (0 pass assist) by running forward in between the defenders as soon as he had made the pass.

Dunno if it works, haven't tried it yet.

You need to dribble towards the corner flag after receiving the pass (right at your feet) - yes, it's that crazy :D

Do yourself a favor and set pass assistance at 2 or higher bar for this one. The long ball practice is really a strange one.

Still the best choice IMO, the 360 OF is now as good as the PS3 one and the 360 version looks superior. I always almost get the PS3 version then opt for the nicer graphics on 360.

I play "manual" on PES and Fifa, largely because of the freedom it gives and the way it creates a more realistic pace of game. But the thing i've found with manual is, the simple things are often more difficult than the harder things.

For example, although a small 2 yard pass is possible, it needs a very very soft touch of the button and it can be very easy to over-charge it (on my Xbox controller anyway). And although distance shooting on manual produces spectacular results, I'll often miss the simpler one on one chances.

That's my experience with it at least.

It just didn't feel very stat related. I hit a shot with Gerrard from 35 yards out that went square. It literally would have hit the dug-out if there was one. It all felt wrong. I guess it's early doors with the system, and maybe it will get better a year down the line, with regards the inconsistencies. In saying that, I'm more than happy with how the assisted stat-related shooting works. I feel I have as much control as I want in that regard, with so many different ways to strike the ball.

Nope. South American version (Ronaldo and Neymar on cover) has a different BLES code and is not compatible with the rest of OF. :CRY:

Just dicked Man Utd 2-0 at Anfield, was a sweet game, possibly my most complete performance to date.

I keep losing sight of the fact that time on the ball is the essence this year, and that when you do work that move that gives your midfielder that bit of space then use it. Basically dribbling into space is key this year I feel, it's not all about pass, pass, pass. When you get that creative space in the final third then you can slow the game right down knowing that you're outnumbering the defence and patience and timing is then all crucial to getting that gilt edged chance.

Also scored a nice goal with Sterling v Arsenal, a lovely solo effort. I never really like this side of the game preferring passing, but this year I feel I have a nice control taking players on in the right context with the right players. Again, coming back to what I was saying, having confidence to dribble and using space.

Every time the game starts becoming too linear it's probably all down to my not utilising space like I should, changing the angle of attack and using body position and technique to alter the vision of the pitch by letting team mates make runs. It's all there this year....it really is.

Once again for me this game is a love/hate thing.

I can see the potential in the game play, I recognise that its better than 2012, its improved again tactically but I do wonder what Konami's goal is.

Of the many goals I've conceded so far, I'd say 70% of them could have been avoided if the defenders and GK got the basics right.

I don't see any evidence that the GKs have improved, their positioning is still poor, they still go out of their way to save a shot that is clearly not on target and concede unnecessary corners. They also still make weird decisions when it comes to how to go about making a save.

Its frustrating when I'm under pressure, I relieve that pressure but my FB and CB decide to hang back 15 yards and play everyone onside. Why has this not been fixed?

The refs have once again perfected the art of making you feel like they are against you because you slept with their wife/daughter. Clear fouls aren't penalised yet on the flip side the opposition can do no wrong. Then in the 89th minute when your 4 - 0 down the ref decides to taunt you and finally give you a FK.

The awareness of the players still stinks and I'm not happy with the response times (input) either.

Yet despite all this, I can't stop playing the bloody game.

If someone can prove to me that there are ways to stop all this, I'm listening.

That would be sweet....may be even together?!? lol.....

I do agree though the keepers make some really nice contextual saves, but their proneness to palm back into the six yard box does drive me nuts. A possible patch?

PS - Maintaining the slightly bawdy route, is it wrong to want a cut scene of some extra-curricula activity shall we say between my profile man and the secretary?!? I'm sure she's winked at me a few times.....

Hahaha, awesome!

Can I join the "tail between legs" list please regarding ML? Started one yesterday and I'm 10 games in and yeah, I'm liking it. Buying only the stuff that doesn't cause instant stat upgrades as I still can't agree with that, or the boots.

My whole post disappeared!

Playing ML on regular with 0 bars.
CPU cheats a lot.
I still win but it's nowhere near the game it is player vs player.

Hating:
- Stumble bug
- Untackleable cpu
- 90 degree cpu maradona turns
- the run one yard in the wrong direction before unleashing a perfect reverse chipped throughball by the cpu
- the cpu's defence packing the edge of the box and noone moving
- 80% of loose balls head for the cpu.

Apart from the dice being loaded, it's good fun!

Oh yeah, and is player switching worse than demo 2? It seems awful sometimes, and the cpu capitalises like a bastard!
