PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Any blockbusters buyers out there confirm if the steelbook is the same size as the ps3 box or are they all xbox 360 case size? And did you get DLC?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Played some more.

This really is a refined Pes 2012, and nothing like what was released in demo.

It plays EXACTLY like 12.

- Same through balls from cpu
- Same animation
- Same stumble effect when going shoulder to shoulder
- Defence switching off at times and leaving a man free
- Same replays
- Same graphics.

The only additions are the manual controls, a few new animations, the steal tackle and some new feints.

And theyve managed to remove:

- League
- Afternoon matches WTF???

Sigh. I'm continually baffled by how anyone thinks this is remotely the same as PES 2012. Just because it looks very similar in graphics etc people think it's the same. There are problems but in terms of gameplay it's so different.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

This is my biggest issue as well! Its starting to become a gamebreaker. What bugs me the most is not the constant counter attack/through balls by the computer, but the scripting of it! The ball will literally roll over my defenders shoes with no attempt to intercept it!
Last night Robben scored a goal against me, where he went through my defender, and when i say through I mean through :)

I'm really trying to like the game, but I'm struggling right now I must admit..

I'm getting tonked on Top Player but I'm still not conceding many, if any goals from through balls, especially compared to PES2012. My main tactic, which others have said, is to use the right stick to take control of your last man and use him to backpedal and keep track of the striker. I often do this and the AI simply decides it doesn't fancy the through-pass after all.

I've done this so much now that I've started getting risky, keeping pace with the striker's run then trying to time when the CPU will play the pass (when it does decide it wants to try the through-ball) before making my man I'm controlling move in the opposite direction in an attempt to catch the striker offside. It's risky but I've gotten quite effective at it :)

The fact it looks so similar in almost every way (including the menus) means it's hard NOT to think of PES12 when playing it.

It's only once you stop thinking of PES12 that you can start to appreciate it's finer details.

So, @kellex, listen to Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupertalk and I (and lots of others) and try to free you mind :-)

Anyone know why my data pack download option is greyed out?

Good tip...
But another serious issue is that almost all teams are using the same attack pattern (through-pass straight forward), no matter the tactic in use.

Setting Offside Trap to On in your tactics menu will certainly reduce the effectiveness of the CPU's killer pass. That is an absolute must for me.

Also, I love the way the CPU forces you to think out of the box and track the runs manually. Defending in real life is all about awareness and positioning, PES in recent years forces you to adhere to those principles to be successful. I very, very rarely ever concede from a through-ball, I have this off-the-ball-defending nailed. I do feel that you need to be using Semi-Assisted Cursor Change though to be at your most effective.

This is a brilliant example of an interception I made last night. I tracked the run a split second too late then had to improvise. It was beautiful :)

And this was a cheeky cross-over turn that I set up on Link Feint to get me out of trouble...( And yes I did put the wrong title up for this clip. :CONFUSE:)

I cantbelvie it?

so u are saying that its programmed like a catch up thing if you are winning by 2 goals all of a sudden his goalkeeper improves and your players make unforced errors etc?

now u get it, this is pes ;) vs cpu only the cpu "cheats" to make the game much more exciting because in regular ways it cant better than a human, in human vs human matches scripting makes the game more exciting, try nba2k games aswell, eg. if u behind 10-15 goals there u cant get back to the game, not against the weakest opponnent, not with the best team, i quit playing that in 2010
but pes is like a fat, ugly girlfriend who cheating on u every time but once it was a romance back then and u always give her a chance...

but i wont try to conveince u, i play pes since '99 and im confident to say that there is scripting , especially in the nextgen era,

waiting for until jenkey/yair remove it,

cheers

I'm sorry but I disagree with this just based on my last two games yesterday in ML:

Stoke played long ball football to Crouch - I had to compensate for Crouchie doing his usual thing of coming deep to receive the ball by changing to 2 DMs to block the space.

Norwich played neat short passes through midfield before working to the flanks to get crosses in - for them I changed from a traditional 4-4-2 to a diamond 1-2-1 in midfield so I could pass around them while preventing them playing in the centre.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

How good is this Player ID by the way ? :WOOT:

I swear to god, Ronaldinho is Ronaldinho, in every single way. He even has his outside of the boot flick pass motion captured perfectly, as is his stepover and his shooting animations. The more I play with him, the more I see. His range of passing on Zero Assistance is amazing as well. He truly is him, in every single way. I can't wait to have extended play on all the other players captured in this way.

I can see myself creating a Ronny tribute in the near future, but here is a little taster of him from last night. Using is Player ID move combined with the new R2 side-step is wonderful, such quick feet and balance ...

What are you playing on?

I am playing on pc and personally i find the gameplay very similar. Very different from pc demo.

Yes it is like a Steelbook Blu-ray size - so longer than a standard PS3 case - you will also get a small slither of paper with DLC code on it for Champions League balls and you get the standard PS3 game case also.

I went to Blockbuster on Friday night and found all this out after the guy had to ring his area manager to find out what was to be given to customers.

I left it in the end as they wanted £39.99 and Morrisons had standard edition for £34.99 - so got it from there in the end.

Because you already have it installed perhaps ?

It's greyed out on my screen and I have it.

Hate to say I told you so . . . . just after the warranty runs out too. . . makes you wonder. I'd never touch Xbox again it's PS3 all the way!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

waiting for until jenkey/yair remove it

Scripting exists, but I've always thought of jenkey's/yair's 'Remove Scripts' buttons as placebo buttons. They're there for show and to make the user feel that something has been done, and perceive their gameplay differently as a result.

As somebody far upthread remarked, the removal of scripts without full access to the source code is impossible. Unless jenkey/yair were working directly with the source code? If so, I tip my hat to them.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I had a few questions for people playing offline ML

Started a league with Manchester United with settings

Transfers on high
Best Staff

Sim for a few seasons playing a few games to get a feel for it

The team, no matter how many players I buy will only have at most 13 players that are not blue or purple and normally one position per match will have all players for a certain position blue or purple.

Only two players in the top 40 players moved in three seasons and one of them moved every year
Xavi to real then to inter then to barca. Not many other players moved bar players below 70 overall ability. Few bids for my transfer listed and none for my loan listed players. Bids for players with full loyalty or affection like Vidic and when I turn them down he tells me that he has already handed in a transfer request when he has not.

Started Master league again. Same team
Transfers on high
Worst staff
Players recover from matches is poor and they get more injures which is to be expected but problems with blue and purple condition which you would expect to be worse seems if any thing better.
Even with worst scout I can still sign the same players for the same price the only difference is I can put in less bids at the same time. Same problems with no little or no bids for my loan and transfer listed players. Also it seem that whatever players you can buy in one masterleague will be the same in them all eg same players appearing on your shortlist and players like Isco never being available.

Another point. After three seasons on both of those masterleagues I had about 500 million in the bank with spending more on player transfers than earning and not winning any league.

Finally as a test I started a league with Santos
Transfers on high
Best Staff

By the second transfer window
Valencia to Real
Ashley Cole to Manchester Utd
Four Barcelona players moved to Real Madrid
Messi Puyol Iniesta and Buscutes
Five Real Madrid players moved to Barcelona
Ramos Pepe Alonzo Casillas and Di Maria
And a medium amount of transfers below the top players

I was wondering if anybody else has these problems or is this just me. Also on the blue and purple condition it says that their are consumable items that can be bought online but did anyone unlock these playing online and if you can how exactly could you import these into your masterleage. Its baffling to me.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

very fishy reports from pc users it seems...

Did someone do an actual comparison between pc an ps3 versions to remark differences?

Is there actual differences?

I bought (still waiting) the ps3 version after being trying pc version because everywhere ppl is saying ps3 is running better than other versions.
I am among those who miss the demo1 physics.

After playing the xbox retail version, i´m happy again. The PC gameplay was a total different beast, relentless pressure and perfect AI defensive positioning, made my brief experience with it a real chore. But this one, this beauty, made me smile from the get go. Passing, probing, deciding, dribbling, running and shooting are all there as tools for footballing happiness. MLO seems balanced as PES 11`s. Really loved it, and Bootgate gets forgotten and forgiven, from my part. PC users WILL need mods! The differences are huge between versions.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I just had two matches in a row where the CPU cheated a penalty out of me when trailing by a goal late on. First against Madrid, secondly against Man Utd. When defending a corner (in each match), I was controlling a defender to clear when a different one would slide in on a CPU player and concede a penalty. Nothing to do with me.

Thing is, the penalties were properly missed each time. Rooney's went wide, Ronaldo's was skied. I won both matches.

PES 2012 - AI cheat goals
PES 2013 - AI cheat drama?

:D
