PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

If you're talking about offline ML, isn't that to do with doing some conditioning training or whatever it was called in 2012?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

what i want to see in pes is the AI team play like granada played against barca today they know that they need to defend because they play against barca but in pes you don't see team come to the game in this mentality.

I would like to see that too. But i think it's extremely different to do in a convincing way. Because there's more to it than just defending against Barcelona. Against a team of similar strength that same team (Granada) would have to go for a win...
And if Granada play Barcelona after 10 consecutive wins, they should be in the zone and play with more self belief, whereas after 10 consecutive defeats they should be all shambles...That is the way it is in a football league.

I don't know nothing about programming and making games, but it seems to me that is impossible to do at the moment.

What should be possible, is the fact that form arrows should be more consistent. One week a player scores a hattrick, the next week he should have ared arrow up...that never happens.

In PES2012 i played a league (not a ML, a league) with my daughter. We played with her beloved Chelsea and Didier Drogba had a purple arrow down for 75% of the season...this didn't stop him from becoming top scorer. What is the use of these form arrows?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Actually I thought that...at first. But I was interested in this this year and I've been checking the away teams arrows, and it seems more balanced this year. For example I played a game against someone and they had like 2 blues and 2 purples. Normally it's all red and yellow.

I'll check every team from now on just to see.

The coach thing doesn't help really, because i've seen it with 3 different teams. Top teams no less.
I would think differently if i play as a weak team (away) vs strong team, but that's not the case at all. If we use a top team the colors should be at least green or have a story behind why a player isn't 'fit' to play. Make use of those cutscenes and all that good drama then right?! :P

Now the CPU might have a couple of bad players too, but not too that extent. If you notice.. in away games even with good colors, the games are already influenced by lets say 'cheating'. So that's more than enough i think.. bad colors have no business being there.

First game away vs Barcelona, whole team is dead.. It's not the other way around. Just maybe Xavi and Pique blue and Tello (a sub no less) purple. That's really bollocks

Only in away games? Odd.

Btw i didn't play PES 2012.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Is it to do with coaching? I previous years there have been coaches you can hire to help improve player form arrows. Plus, signing new, better players (though you may not be using player defaults) helps too.

On another note, I'm loving the R2 dribbling as well as one of the moves I never knew existed until I did the training exercises. It's a kind of sidestep move, and is in the first guy in the video below. Really love that. I tried it with a much lesser player and while he technically performed the move, his touch was so heavy and lumbering that his second part of the dribble took it away from him and into a crowd of other players. So, basically, as in real life, everyone can 'do' this move but only top players can do it effectively.

Similarly, with top players, R2 is a joy. In the vid, Gorcuff dances around on the ball and makes space for a lay-off to a team mate. So much fun.

That is the double touch move I was talking about. It is not on R2 but performed by flicking RS to players left or right then flicking LS in direction player is facing/moving.

On a side note guys, is anyone else loving the music this year lol, so fking catchy.........'I'm on top of the world aye'.....

Ah, no. Away games were like that too in 2012, but not ALL blue and purple though, as there were some green. But yea I guess that's their way of giving home teams the edge.

Ah,, that explains.. they changed everything when it concerns gameplay but forgot the rest :P
Yeah of course i still got some colors.. But i was playing with my friend on PC and PS3 and we was like wtf is this?!
Quite the letdown though for us but nevermind :/

Thanks

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Starting to feel this a bit now, had an excellent couple of CL exhibition matches this morning. There's a few things niggling away at me (AI possession, attacking methods) but the good is beginning to outweigh the bad perhaps.

Yup, it's a brilliant move. I tried it with a lumbering left back and he kind of barged his way through with the first touch then his second just hammered the ball away to an opponent. I tried the same thing with Aimar just inside his own half and he wriggled past two players in a way that really reminded me of Gazza back in his glory days. Aimar pulled that off, the crowd suddenly for excited and a break away was suddenly on. It was fantastic.

Its more so in my experience, and the reason is that when all is not equal, ala 1-bar and alike, then the better passers shine due to their stat-based assistance.

Zero Assistance isn't full manual by definition. If it was, I wouldn't use it.

I gave it a go Jimmy on zero assistance and while it's taking a bit of time to adjust I completely agree, it's amazing. There are many factors that I'm noticing that zero assistance affects, not just in passing accuracy. I'm now a convert :))

I've been trying some games with Juventus, and my last one against Bologna was a joy. It finished 0-0, but thanks to the passing it improved the game no end. I was on Top Player, zero assists.

First thing I noticed is that it actively slows the game down, the ball doesn't ping to much. Secondly, the CPU seems to almost counter balance your controls and it felt more error prone too. Both teams finished with a far lower pass completion rate than before.

Using some pretty good Juve players, those with average passing seem to require pinpoint accuracy so I was giving the ball away a lot at first. I found myself actively trying to get Pirlo on the ball, as he feels so much better than everyone else on zero assist. Using a player of his ability did mean that his passes required less attention on my part, which to me is fantastic. He should have better accuracy. I could just hammer the ball across the pitch and his passing would be fast and accurate, even playing the ball perfectly into someone's path to run onto. Perform the same thing with someone else and it would have gone flying into touch.

The last thing I noticed was that by having to judge the power bar so much more, any over hit pass, even by a fraction, has a heavy effect on player control. By over hitting a short pass, it made even an 80 rated attacking full back take a first touch like it was bouncing off a brick wall. Love it.

The amount of errors in the games I've been playing from both teams has meant that my games have been tight midfield battles with fouls galore. Thanks to me being on a higher difficulty with no assists, for the first time ever in a PES game I'm largely second best and playing on the counter attack.

I sound like a resident Konami spokesperson at the moment but I'm just enjoying this so much. It's the best PES ever, by a long long way .

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

What piss me off is that i have been giving konami feedbacks for years and then i don't see some minimun features required for a ps3 game.

CAMERAS: ffs customizable camera, the actual cameras all sucks.
PITCH TEXTURES: it is horrible. And am i mistaken or there is only 1 pitch texture and pattern for all stadia? With decent pitch texture and colour game would feel immensively better visually
THINGS MISSING: what happened to afternoon games? League Modes? Shop?

And is the lobby only for non ranked game?

Gameplay wise is a good effort, but in the long term the lack of customization and diversity kills the enjoyment.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Shop is in Master League now... Actually, they made things unlockable in game (like Nicknames and such :D).

Pitch patterns and textures can use a bit of work, but they are way better than they were in 2011 and 2012 default game. Plus blur is not as annoying as it used to be. It's toned down, so now replays DO LOOK like REAL thing (not over blurred).

Lack of League Mode is indeed bad, but DLC may add it back. Pretty much like Community mode in October DLC.

Fingers crossed. I can say clearly it's the best PES of this generation.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Made it into the cl final with Chelsea on professional group stage/ top player knockout, had some seriously lucky games, especially my last game against inter they were all over me. Had no right to get to this stage tbh something smells fishy!

Will see how I get on against barca

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I must say I do enjoy Master League this year, no nagging, no players whining about anything. Just you and games ahead of you.

The only thing I dislike are black boots and AI randomly putting them on players.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Haha spot on, theyve nailed the move perfectly. I presume this is a new feature because I've never even it before.

Here's the move again, this time with Maicon bombing down the right (pre-transfer of course). Try this with someone like Walter Samuel and see how poor his is at doing it, but players with high technique....perfect.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Lack of any decent camera is killing the game for me, just like in pes 2012.

I am really puzzled about how such an imporant feature like customizable camera is missing. If nba2k didn't have the 2k camera i'd probably never play the game.

I don't know what's the use of that John Murphy folk. He probably knew league mode were missing, he is aware of the camera issue. he does nothing. If i don't see league more or new camera in the october patch then i'll be selling my copy.

Sounds good. You started with defaults if so what are like they like? Gonna start one later

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I really want to use broadcast camera but it's just not feasible thanks to the game switching angles when you're out wide. I usually play on wide, which is fine, but love playing on broadcast. It flows even better on this year's version on this cam, but the feature that makes the camera change to a close up view when you're by either touch line renders it unusable. Such a shame.

I finally met my match, however, playing on broadcast, top player, zero assistance. Tried playing as Lyon v Santos. Got utterly, utterly battered, but in a good way. Previous PES games would see the CPU soak up crazy amounts of pressure then hit you with perfect pin point attacks that seemed like the game was just dicking you over.

This time, I got so hammered I could barely retain the ball. The game finished 0-4, with me having just two shots on goal, andq the CPU having twelve shots in goal. It should have finished 7-0. The CPU also finished having had far more of the ball. I just couldn't live with it. I'm guessing it's partly due to playing on broadcast, I'm awful using that camera, but still it shows a huge step forwards in terms of the AI. It kept the ball, passing backwards, sideways, picking me apart over and over.

I also discovered the joys of crossing. You can put the ball wherever you want in this version, and I love holding R2 while crossing. It produces an entirely different, high, looping cross you can put in. It's especially useful from deep, when you've loaded players into the box and want to cause a bit of a bundle in the penalty area.

Pc -2 speed on pc. My mate played with me va CPU in ML with Rennes. Shooting does seem weak....other then that I thought it was brilliant. My mate thinks they switched the a button with the y. I tried to tell him it takes awhile to get used too, the new full manual. A with zero assistance is waaaaaaaaaay different then 2012. We started off with two wins the got drunk and lost concentration and got whipped three games in a row. Playing with a mate is much harder the in years past. Shooting seemed hard and very weak...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Started with club lineups to see how it goes ;).

Real Madrid is a joyous bunch to play as haha :D.

Cheater! Just kidding, nothing quite like the feeling taking a team with a bunch of crappy nobodys and turning them into european champions though

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

If you are having difficulty beating a man or just finding space I recommend editing link feints so as you have only one move assigned to each L1 + direction prompt.

I have assigned quick turn left when I press L1 + up when player is facing right, and quick turn right assigned to L1 + down when again facing right. This means I have very basic but effective quick turning moves at my disposal without having to worry too much about getting stick prompts correct beyond holding L1 and flicking the stick. I have yet to settle on what I will assign to left and right.

EDIT: I should add that it is also recommended to practice, practice, practice and then practice again the double touch move. I was getting sick and tired of the com skinning me all the time so took to replaying back what it was it was doing and majority of the time it was the double touch move. In the code I played in june this was much easier to perform as all you had to do was flick the right stick to the players left or right while holding the directional stick in the direction you were dribbling. Before that code supposedly Iniesta did it as part of his Player ID when using deft touch dribbling. Now it is a bit trickier to perform but seeing as the COm uses it frequently why not give it some payback!

I have not experimented with linking feints, so I'll give this a go and do the training some more. Thanks for the tip.

Anyone know what "FORM Upgrade +1" item upgrade in ML exactly is/does?

I equipped it, but nothing happened as far as i could 'see' :/

The players have a form stat you know.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The Form stat determines the colour and frequency of the player's form arrow. i.e. Players with high forms have red/orange arrows more often than players with low form and vice versa.

I thought that was condition? as in fitness. I didn't think there was any signifier of form on matchday itself, it just a number from 1-8 in player stats and the higher it is the more consistent they are. Although it's definitely true that the arrows play out the same way as form, which is why it's a shame that it's so inconsistent in ML.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

PES 2013 needs to be played on +1,+2 speed?

Last night I done an expereimetn I played PES2 on ps2..then I treid pes 2013 demo on ps3.

The most appraent thing was that PES 2013 was about 1/3 the pace of pes2,,the speed of runing was like walking and the passes and shots were totally sluggish and floaty.

I then bumped up to +2 speed and it was like pes2 speed...the game was more fun..but maybe to fast.

I put to +1 and it was better than 0 speed but still kinda sluggish compared to PES2.

But I read a lot of guys playing at -1.

Thing is I never felt pes 2013 was slow or sluggish until I done head to head comparison with the ps2 game.

After playing ps2 pes and actually enjoying it pes 2013 at 0 speed was pretty boring.
