Hiya Guys,

I just got this game and thought i'd put my opinion in. Before anyone gets upset or thinks i am trolling or anything, i am not..Just wanna give my honest review.

Used to love pro like alot of you guys, and my last fave one was Pro 5. Anyways on to this game....I just finished my first game...I put my team, Liverpool vs Barcelona......Superstar level....10 min game....and I am sorry to say, I was very disappointed. The final stats indicated I had 65% possession....over barcelona....I mean thats staggering. Not only that, I won the game 2-1. It didn't challenge me like I thought superstar level should do. The CPU AI, they allow through balls, like the defender wont even attempt to get it, and the way they attack, its so direct. One player will pick it up and attempt to dribble round 3 players. Another thing I noticed was the cpu can whenever they feel like put through a defence splitting pass that I am just powerless against.

The thing I love about the game was the pace, the individuality and the dribbling (on the players correct foot).

I have no loyalty towards Konami or EA, especially EA because I think they are money grabbing cunts lol. However I honestly feel Fifa 13 is the better game this year, and has been for a few years now. I really hope the new fox engine brings Pro back to the old days in a way. I shouldn't be winning my first game and having that much possession against Barca.....they should be spanking me.

Yes, in ML online there is a configuration where u can choose 3 options to play with:
- People with same team level
- Same assistance
i forgot the other, when i play again i tell you

So I've played quit a bit now.

Got the PES edit patch, and put in last year's ingame editor stadiums. Added them to Bundesliga teams and went for it.

I figured I wasn't going to spend much time on this ML save because once the new transfers come out, I won't really be using it much, so I picked Hamburg, a good midtable team.

I drew my first game with Bayern, but it really bothered me that they had half their starters sitting down. They still dominated and Robben was so hard to stop. He scored early and I was on the backfoot most of the game.

In one counter though, Beister got past Van Buyten and teed up Van der Vaart from about 25 yards out with 5 minutes left in the game and we tied it. So we got 1 point on our first game vs Bayern, even if it was at home, I took it as a good result.

My next game vs Augsburg I won easily 3-0 again at home.

Then I lost 1-2 vs Hoffenheim. They took advantage twice of set pieces, once from a corner and the other from a FK on the edge of the right side of the box. They delivered good crosses twice and scored twice. I benched Rajkovice after that.

Then I had a Europa league match vs AZ. I switched a lot of players, as I figure the Bundesliga CL spots are my priority at this point, so I used a lot of my younger players. We got a draw in the Netherlands and lie second in our group with Lazio and Getafe. (which is nice, as they both have their real stadiums in game, so i can't wait to visit them!)

A few things bother me though. Cup ties are still at a random stadium, not the home team stadium. They should at least let you choose. And the boots, while a minor detail, it sucks seeing everyone with konami booths.

All in all so far the experience is good. As they include EL and CL, you can assume they are going for realism, but there are quite a few things they should do to match it with that.

- Youth systems should be mainly new players (not recycled old ones) with the majority of them being from the country of the team you are managing.

- They should allow you to train with your team within the ML.

- Rework the whole transfer system. Scouts should tell you how good a player is, whether he'll fit in your system and what his personality is. You should be able to offer money directly to the team you want to buy from. Then negotiations start if the team is interested in selling. The whole "negotiations failed" BS is stupid. If you want to throw crazy money at a team for player you should be allowed to do so at the peril placing your own team at financial risk.

(I know bulletpoints are supposed to be concise, but that last one kinda pushed on.)

Anyways. If konami is going for the realistic version of managing, they should implement the above statements. If they are going for more fantasy stuff, they should just get rid of the CL and EL licenses which give it too much realism.

How much will I get trade for 360 4gb slim? I also have external 250gb mem and quick charge kit.
I don't think gamestation test the console by Hdmi so should be ok as they test it by scart

As good as it sounds I'm fighting the urge to buy the UK version, and wait for the US release and the overseas delivery time that entails.

In the meantime, I've got the likes of Max Payne 3 and Sniper Elite to entertain myself :D

If only Konami allowed us to download different commentary languages from the PSN store, I'd get the UK version and be done with it.

Game is already being sold in Brasil by non-official stores... if you are in Brasil, of course :P

RPG elements, magic boots, equipment etc etc...

I'm noticing NOTHING of it. And I've already given two of my players boots and some others a few stats boosts. IT HAS NO IMPACT ON THE GAME, SERIOUSLY. I don't even notice people wearing black boots, I focus on playing the beautiful game.

Stat boosts certainly have influence on the game. They keep you from having to go out and buy a better player. Simple as that.

I've enjoyed ML so far while ignoring the gimmicky stuff.

Now, the equipment stuff is excellent for BAL.

I'm not sure about that Steelhorse as I live in Dublin. Can't see them giving you too much in exchange, as they would know xbox is rubbish from the amount of people dissatisfied with it. Personally I would never touch xbox again. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but a lot of them were breaking down after updtates from microsoft especially after the warranty ran out, that's my experience. Hope you get sorted good luck!

It was only ever an issue for those who decided to make it one, and before they even played the game. 'Bootgate' my ass. Silly fluff, nothing more, nothing less.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me.. I'm trying to play online but everytime I select the any online game mode it the game asks my online settings. After I fill in the ID and password etc and log in, the gane just sends me back to main menu. The same happens everytime.

Apparently you can set your pass assistance settings. Please let it be and free this game from its shackles online

I was a few matches into ML having a fantastic time, until I remembered why I never play ML. It becomes a game of arrows. It's hilarious how when I play a team away from home they'll have all yellow/green arrows, yet when I play at home, that's almost never the case. Or the fact that when I play at home the away team has all green/yellow. It's ridiculous.

JESUS CHRIST I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT

Dived straight into a Copa Libertadores with Internacional, zero assisted controls following Jimmys orders. I'm a convert, power guage was fantastically consistent and i dont recall ever underplaying a pass beyond my own error. Love how long balls are now so variable, can no longer punt an inch perfect 50 yarder from maxing the power.

The first weeks of PES where you're adjusting to the AI are the best. Got tonked 3-0 in the first group game, salvaged a dramatic 2-2 late equaliser in my second, then lost 1-0 to Santos in the third after being absolutely raped by Neymar. (Had to put two men on him in the end)

Already forged a love hate relationship with Dagoberto, he'll shimmy past two men then fall over hopelessly. Individuality is back in abudance. Dribbling is a dream. Shooting is going exactly where I want it to. Honestly, I'm chuffed. I don't doubt I'll be completely dominant against the CPU in a week or so, but beyond that online should be quality with the balance this game possesses.

on a side note, anyone know why replays and off-pitch animations run at 100x normal speed on my PC?

oh, and how do i get foreign commentary while retaining english menus?

did you guys need to input your online pass? i thought they wernt needed for a few weeks ?
 
Well even though Hdmi port has gone - getting it fixed tomorrow by shop - I used the scart socket to see screen when putting on Daymos option file. It's amazing.

the gameplay is simply amazing in this game... 'floaty shots' people i seriously what to know what you were smoking ??

its such a shame that every seems wrong with this except the gameplay. why can other players see my manual arrow ? why is there no proper manual filter ? i start up master league online, set up the 'filter'... boom, assisted player, scores to ridiculous long range goals - one a 25 yard volley and another a 35 yard lob... 2nd game, another assisted player

exited out of MLO and just searched ranked match 'manual'.. and actually got someone who played manual... and had an amazing game!! incredible... but yeah, everything BUT the gameplay feels like its been so underworked

I noticed something that you can now block people not only for chatting anymore but also facing them again. It's called "match block". I'm loving this.

I'm finding CPU scripting in ML a problem. I've now had several games which I have dominated only to concede to a corner which the CPU practically gives itself. Defending corners is proving impossible at certain points. I wouldn't mind if they were in the game, but I'm walking all over them. Cant help but feel it's difficult in the wrong areas.

I see they've completely reinvented the ML default players! Although I have a sneaky suspicion most are just subtle name changes.

The ol' English clogger in DM is absolutely hilarious with the new first touch system. Don't think I've ever retained the ball with him after the initial tackle.

You just have to be very alert. Select a decent header of the ball, then position him right into the mix with R2.
