PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Had a blast last night. Played about 15 games yesterday, Superstar, 15 mins, gamespeed 0, zero assists.

By the end of the night I had this feeling that I wasn't putting too many points on the board shall we say. I went to check the schedule and I hadn't won any of my last NINE games lol. I was just so immersed in the gameplay that it really hadn't bothered me that I wasn't winning.

Man it's going to be a tough slog this year with my Reds.

On another note - and I NEVER thought I'd ever utter these words - I'm ashamed to say I'm actually having some fun and enjoying these little equipments/boots games lol. The point system doesn't appear to go through the roof and whilst quirky and a little childish, I've found it enjoyable assigning a bit more speed here, a bit more physical there.

I need to way sharpen up on my tactics when leading though.

How can I play online with my Be a legend player ?

Me too actually :EMB:

When you're leading try to play on the counter by going defensive L2+down.. that stuff works so good. And maybe adjust your attackers or (wider) support a bit differently. Little things like that can impact your counterplay big-time.

Long ball tactics are pretty sweet too in this game. It's very random

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Does the A.I. press everywhere and all the time? Does it use different tactics to counter your changes?

If not, then this year it's another shitty for players who enjoy co-op vs A.I. or ML.

Yeah I took a llook at ML and actually kind of like some of the items you can assign players. Purchasing a dedicated physio to an injury-prone player is pretty good.

I've been playng on professional and the CPU pressure compared to 2012 seems massively toned down. It's more forgiving too. You can actually try to score some outrageous goals now because there's a chance you'll be able to do it. Playing as Inter, I had Maicon (yes, I know it's not been updated to see him at Man City, and yes this is shit) burst forward into the opposition's penalty area and I almost pulled off the best dribble I've ever done, beating several men with R2.

Main difference is the CPU AI feels a lot better than in PES2012 and so it doesn't 'park the bus' like the last game.

Overall it's vastly superior to PES2012 in every way.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Ok. Initial impressions were bad. I will admit why probably.

Yesterday went to shop and bought game legally. As you can notice what I did play before was pirated game from S-----W.

Now dunno what those fuckers did with game code, but trust me legal game is so much better it's un-f*****g-believable!!!

The game is ace, plays like no other Pro Evo game since PS3/X360 days :O.

No stutter, smooth gameplay, goalkeepers are down to Earth and actually make some amazing saves!

God damn, I just started my campaign to reign CL once more with Milan, but so far struggling a lot in group haha :D.

Playing on semi-assisted settings with all other things turned off. Ace.

Night games look less plastic and more toned down. The teammate AI knows how I wanna play when you tinker sliders in tactic options. A joy too ;).

The atmosphere on Spanish stadiums is class btw. All teams from Spain have their chants in. Shame there are only 5 slots for chants, but hmm, playing Master League in Spain is tempting.

Still don't like commentary duo and cameras, but gonna live with it. This might be important for some people:

-players do tire in more realistic way now. If you run with one player a lot, he will tire very very fast. Just did it with Pato and he was burnt out near end of first half. Run and pressed opposition a lot. Other players ended in 75+% of green bar as those played more patiently. (those are 10 min halves too).

-subs and tactics do matter a lot now

-seen yellow cards fly for both AI and me. Got player sent off in first game @Mestalla for hacking opponent as last man. They got their GK booked for fouling outside area :D. Crazy, but you will NOT see this on FIFA. Never.

Finally a PES in which I can delve deep and forget nostalgic PES5 and 6 once and for all.

Off to play some more games! Viva PES 2013!

EDIT:

One more thing, first touch is beyond beautiful. It's not random like in FIFA. It's stat based. Poor technique players will most likely take heavy touch. BEAUTIFUL to see. Really it is.

It was not elaborated a lot by KONAMI, but this brings randomness back to game. Game is feels de-railed too. First game in CL campaign ended in me winning it 3-2 away. Chuffed with that :D.

Kitserver also affects game code imho.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The free kick bug on line is still there.

wait till time is up and the cpu will score a goal for you. disgusting stuff. it means they have nobody testing their game

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I'm trying some of the training tutorials to learn anything new from the game a bit better, I certainly never knew you could use R1 (LB) to tackle while jockeying, as well as double tapping X (A on 360). I'd only been doing the latter.

Some of the training tutorials are a bit baffling though. I can't score a nutmeg shot at all. I watch the tutorial, where the keeper stops in front of the attacker and gets nutmegged, but when I try it, and inside the box too, the keeper just charges at me and dives to the side making it impossible to nutmeg him!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

2nd game in group vs Braga... At home and the game is much tougher than Valencia one.

1-0 at HT due to Pato effort makes me happy tho.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

30 odd games now, having moved down to 'Regular' with no assists (other than shooting) and starting to enjoy it a BIT more.

I scored a Worldie with Ibrahimovic; R3 flick over my head, leaping volley, 20 yards out, top corner. Sounds far fetched but watching Ibra do it, it looked like something he'd try.

The ref still seems to favour the CPU on fouls and I seem to get booked for 75% of my fouls (maybe more!).

And, that thing where away games in ML find all of your players with purple arrows remains :(

Please note, it's not like me to post negative comments so I'll stick with it and see how I feel after a few more games.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

One thing someone noticed though, this year AI corners are almost lethal.

I am scared to give them corners! They scored all their goals against me via corners so far... O_O. Normally, it wouldn't be a problem to clear them, but... Something bizarre does happen when AI has corner. Check it out :o.

Game ended in 3-1 win for Milan. Stats: 56% possession for me vs 44% for them 13/5 shots vs 6/1. God I love Montolivo, Pato and Robinho here. So lifelike ;).

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

There is none. Apparently it may be added in DLC later as well as Community mode which is said to be added in October DLC ;).

Fingers crossed :P.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I wanted to ask (for those of you are playing online) what sort of filters does online have??

Also what kind of cameras can u utilise online??

And how does the AI of the players compare to offline and in general how does offline and online games compare??

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Don't you just hate it when your missis won't go to bed early ? Jeez I do.

So there she is, drifting in and out of sleep on our new leather corner suite, as I'm downloading some Flamengo chants from Fanchants, wishing she'd hurry the fuck up and vanish upstairs so I can crack on with some single player PES 13 action. Eventually, at 11.58pm, she dragged herself upstairs to bed. Jesus, that felt like an eternity.

So after transferring the chants from my USB to the PS3, I started a Copa with Flamengo. Joy.

The Brasilians drew Bolivian side Real Potosi in the first knock-out game at home, with the recently instilled raucous home support in fine fettle. As the drums pounded throughout the stadium, Flamengo rose to the occasion from the get-go. Willian came close early doors, a 25 yard strike had the Potosi keeper beaten, but not the upright, as it smashed off the woodwork to the gasps of the boisterous partisan crowd.

Oh and I tell what,..... Ronny still has it by the way. ;)

Pulling the strings and showing flashes of his former brilliance, it was Ronaldinho that looked the most likely to provide that extra bit of class to break the deadlock. A stunning display of quick feet (R2) left three Potosi players for dead, and the following strike zipped past the far post (Long Range Drive Player Card )with the keeper once again stranded.

Flamengo had the better of the first half ending the opening stanza with a 12% possession advantage.

The second half played out the same way for the most part, with Flamengo controlling the pace of the game with Potosi chasing shadows. The argument was finally settled with less than 10 minutes to play. Another moment of magic saw Ronny skin two players before weighting an inch perfect, 15 yard high-through-ball onto the penalty spot for Willian to take first time and bury it into the far corner. 1-0. The stadium erupted.

Flamengo held out after a late surge from the visitors, but justice was served.

The return leg in Boliva saw the home side come out with added impetus from the opening whistle, and were unlucky not to level the tie on aggregate with less than 5 minutes played. A stunning save from Cesar ( a new animation as well), denied Potosi what would have been a dream start.

Flamengo created chances but this was a different game from the first, and a change in formation from the hosts had the Brasilians at sixes and sevens at time. Potosi finally got their equaliser after some great build-up play was rewarded with an excellent defence splitting pass and equally as impressive finish.

The Flamengo manager switched it up tactically, and moved Ronny from the left to a SS role, and right in the mix.

A raking 45 yard switched high pass from the Flamengo left-back picked out Daveid (sp) on the right flank. His change of pace left his marker for dead as he raced towards the byline. A perfect deep outswinger then picked out the run of Ronny at the back stick, and his thunderous header smashed in off the far angle. 1's-a-piece on the day, 2-1 on aggregate. And that's how it ended.

Wow, what a two-legger that was. Both matches had everything and more. The individuality was off the map, and you can certainly feel immediately how much Konami have worked this area this year. Absolutely loved both games, but unfortunately, that was all I had time to play with work today.

More to come from the Boys from Brazil ..........

The minor gripe I still have is player ratings at the end of the game...

looks like 5-8 scale... Not 1-10 :(.

Tad a shame.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Is anyone been able to play 2vs2 with players on different playstations? So far I only found the add guest user options.....

Thnx

i might not be totally dooming. it's an added feature that you can use, but its not the type of feature i ever want expanding on

i think this sums up konami - after my 2nd online victory konami rewarded me with a banana :CONFUSE:

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

After winning first CL game I got awarded: Dominator award :D. Whatever that means <rofl>.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The game has a nice feel when your in control of the ball but as others have mentioned, playing against cpu is terrible.

All cpu teams basically play with the only one real goal-scoring tactic - the killer through ball down the middle, and the AI continually making your central defenders run out of position to facilitate this, so the main defensive chore is trying to get control of guy to fill that hole.

And then the 45th minute arrives and the cpu does everything to script a corner for itself, which basically results in a cpu-auto-goal.

Player stats mean something, but not when they're controlled by the cpu team. Cpu passing is basically fully assisted, 100mph ping-pong with near 100% accuracy, every cpu player is capable of dribbling like Messi when required, cpu never hits those floaty shots that human controlled players do, cpu is not affect by fatigue, cpu basically ignores stats and becomes god when it feels like it.

I went back to the FIFA13 demo and to my surprise, found that playing against FIFA cpu is actually now better than playing against PES cpu. FIFA cpu makes more mistakes, is less god-like, more varied. Too bad FIFA feels like such a hyper-speed arcade game.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

As much as i hate some of the animations this game has some of the sexiest turn animations ever. Epecially if your player is skillfull (gull). I cant believe i pause to watch replay of someone doing 90 and 180 degree turns

Been a while since I posted here and I am way too lazy to read most of the thread I am afraid.

Sadly, I don't have as much time these days so my PES time will be simply down to playing MLO probably to keep me going. Is it still a bit of a horror-show again this year?

I was hoping for:

- Play against similar ranked players
- Play against similar pass assistance etc.
- A better way of doing the players form and transfer system.

Am I shit out of luck?

I wouldn't put it past Konami to actually have a Gull with mad skills in the game

I hated PES2012 more than anyone, but 2013 is really good so far!

Erm I don't agree with this. Tactics AI deploy matter. I could dominate Valencia easily with 60+% possession, they hit deadly counters (1 goal scored from beautiful cross and corner, again :P).

Braga however, gave me a hard time. They came prepared to face big team... So they pressed hard, limiting my playing ground making fast passing a must, but that meant, losing possession and accuracy more often. They also build up patiently with ball, spreading the ball to wingers who run down and cross.

Last team I faced in group was Mothorwell, who are bad at everything, but give their heart out and play long ball almost all the day :P. Defender, long ball, lucky if the front buy gets the ball :D.

It all comes down to tactics AI deploys and players at their disposal.

If I get out of group I will see who I face ;).

Exhibition games won't show true colors imo. Competition matches however, show crafty AI behavior more often and no cheating galore... At least the game doesn't frustrate me like PES 2012 used to do :D. It's a joy to play...

Definitely this year AI is not playing only one style footy. Sadly, FIFA still does play the same way. No team styles visible at all. Stoke can play like Barcelona on their day... <lol>.

You know, i read something about the PC retail being a lot bigger in size, so could it be that it's missing some valuable code?
PC professional AI seems completely dumbed down compared to PS3's professional. Goalies act different.. shots seem different.. hmmm.. ah well not my problem.. anyhoo..

PES (PS3) owns bigtime, played some 2v2 online. Best multiplay experience i've had online in PES history. Conn was very smooth overall, minimal lag. Online pacing is perfect for me, very considerate. Attack vs defence seems fairly balanced with some exceptions*

Everyone plays assisted though, but you can do some truly brilliant, dare say somewhat outrageous (in a sick twisted way) stuff. I've done and seen countless new flicks/touches, traps and passing animations that made me go, "what?! backwards scissor kick pass is in the game?!" , "ooh wtf Ronaldo's heel flick?!" "oh WOW you added this godlike trap animation, but you removed league?! jk) Very slick and contextual and not overdone.
Do you know you can do the run around trick on FIRST TOUCH?! Talk about overdone (?) lol , but that trick is sweeheeeet, heck i even scored off of it multiple times. I was especially having a blast with the new R2 dribbling and tricks online.

Fast and/or strong, players can be stopped, and aren't overpowered to the extent that they become undefendable and unplayable. They can also can be man marked with multiple people.
One game we'd seen our Ibrahimovic been marked by 3 guys! And he was still finding ways to steal the show with his strength (not balance :P) and souplesse.

Off the ball (by AI) movement is sweet and they keep mixing it up. If you do diagonal (manual) off the ball runs or dynamic 1-2's you'll see players bend there runs better and smarter. I'm really liking this! There are so many variations and mixups which cause for a different and fresh scenario each and every time!

Games are completely random but organic in the way they flow per half(s), per game(s). There are times where you have oceans of space, momentum shifts, counters, end to end play, midfield battles, cannot get the ball out of my own half moments. You really feel these moments as they're happening just AWESOME!!

I don't care what anyone says, but the goalies are/were tremendous. Especially our goalies. Never had the goalies win us so many matches LOL.
A couple of times we were under so much pressure that we both knew of each other that we relying on the goalie to save us ANYWAY..and of course.. he DID.. I (we) never really relied so much on the goalies in PES.

Altho luck/coincidence plays a huge factor in real life as it does in this game (via scripting or whatever you want to call it..) Skill DOES matter though, thou must not forget! Whether it's in the tactics department, tricks, clever passing, set pieces or whatever... The ratio is most def in favor of the elitist.

--

*Now top teams like for ex, Madrid/Man. City are complete beast in this game. I don't mind that AT ALL... but.. they have some weird cheating going on when the ball is played towards their forwards, also depends on the passer to a certain degree.

Ex: Aguero runs, Silva passes, you're already standing there, but nope just goes through you or sorta around you, boom goal!
In the box? Blind pass wide (whilst pressured and with weak foot no less) from Ronaldo to Benzema, with 2(or more) guys standing in the lane, nope, just gets through em to Benzema, boom goal!

Players seem obvlious to the ball and just don't react. I'm hoping this gets sorted out!

--

Six, if not more, types of crossing, manual passes, off the ball runs, good ball physics on shots but random on loose balls and duels, different types of tactics and unique player traits.. R2=magic, subtle animations and tweaks, better goalies.. the list just doesn't end.. oh and I'm really loving scrimmages too, it's just such a random clusterf*ck it's just exhilerating! I've never been such a 'clearing' wh0re, but this year you're just forced sometimes.. This game keeps me engaged at all times!

A tremendously fun and hardcore game.. this one isn't for everybody. You can't see the surface, if you ain't scratchin'..

Viva PES 2013!

(fanboyism over and out)

PS: Victor Valdes suckin f*cks in this game just like in real life..
