PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

To defend corners, press the clear button (square/X) while the ball is in midair, then you can press square repeatedly to attempt to clear the ball. I'm not sure that second part with the repeated button hammering is correct though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Just played my first couple of games. Love it. The paces seems a fraction faster than the demos, I've had to lower it to -1, but key differences are that players feel more individual than before. Players with poor technique have awful first touches, which is great. It forces you to play to their strengths. First match, I drew 3-3 with Benfica v Marseille. I had Aimar as a nippy dribbler pulling all the strings and used Oscar Cardozo to win headers and hold the play up as he turned like an oil tanker but physically dominated his opponents. Lovely.

One minor worry is just how effective shots are by holding down R2. I'm curling in a lot of them from around the box with ease, as nice as they are, it seems too easy to curl the ball in.

It's fucking lovely. Honestly, this was my main complaint about PES 12 and they've sorted it out beautifully.

It's like I said while ago, it's almost a hybrid of the best aspects of both PES 11 and PES 12.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Just playing it now for first time.

Is there any option for foreign commentary in UK version ?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Gonna trade it tomorrow for ps3.
How much will I get trade for 360 4gb slim? I also have external 250gb mem and quick charge kit.
I don't think gamestation test the console by Hdmi so should be ok as they test it by scart

I thought the slims were supposed to be reliable. I just got one not long ago..

Sorry, I do not play online due to my poor connection. I play with 2 bars passing semi-assisted. Passing is satisfying without using manual modifiers so I do not use it much, but manual passing is great for sending lovely through balls. It needs some training.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Its really a shame when not ONE member can help a fellow member out when asked a simple question. Evo-Web has surely changed,.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The AI is far from terrible. Just don't expect Superstar to be fair, but Top Player is. Miles away from the cheating-fest of last year.

Online has a great balance this year, teams like Barcelona CAN be stopped. I've had a few quality games online, with no lag at all.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Some take SWOS as a joke mate, and say it doesn't compare to these newer games

it kicked the doors down for the next gen of football gaming

the database was huge and accurate and simple style of football... even the skip match the results were still matching the strength of team rather than a random poor out come computer generated result

great game truly was ....

i still have no pes13 due to blockbuster not being able to afford first class stamps !! might be tempted to dust off the amiga for one night relive the old days

I still play SWOS 96/97 on PC. There is PC SWOS TOTAL PACK just recently was released by biggest SWOS community sensiblesoccer.de it has all transfers up to date, proper stats, adjusted gameplay, new pitches, commentary, chants, everything. Check it out,.

Spot on. It does feel like the best parts of 2011 and 2012 combined. It's so fluid and feels more organic and has so many more random moments. I'm starting on Professional level and I'm winning most games so hopefully Top Player might sort out my worry it's a bit too forgiving at times.

But I just played a 1-1 draw as Parma v Sienna. Was great. I almost scored a blinder with Amauri with a sombrero flick and R2 shot that went just wide. Shooting is beautiful. I ended up hanging on for a draw and late on Amauri tried another sombrero flick, but he must have e been low on stamina becauses he flicked it into his own face :P

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

And some people should get off their high horses and
I wasn't going to post this as I wouldn't want to ignite anything in here, but you're asking for it badly. No one cares what your background is, it doesn't hold any water, sorry. I've been a ISS/PES and Fifa player since 1993, does that make my opinion any better than anyone? No.

PES is not a million miles behind Fifa. That is one hell of an exaggeration I can't and won't stomach. I've been playing the Fifa 13 demo and for the life of me I simply cannot comprehend what about it do you call football. There are a few good things I like, but the one basic thing that it should do better is freaking wrong. Players skating around the pitch is not what I call football. Ball control doesn't represent football. Dribbling doesn't represent football. I simply cannot stand it and makes me so angry at a huge company like EA who cannot get this basic thing right. Seriously how hard is it to implement? They have all the equipment and the money required for this, yet it still looks ugly as hell. They call it a simulation yet they can't simulate what I mentioned. I hate the skating with a passion. Give me Fifa 08 with all it's faults any day over this.

I find PES gives me what I want football-wise on the pitch. It might be weaker in other areas but on the pitch is all I care about. The football experience. A game can have all the fluff in the world but when it comes to the real part - football - it fails. Then I'd stop playing that game because I won't be sitting there staring at fluff. Fgs I endured all the PES blandness (not football) way back when and used pen and paper for all the scouting, leagues, etc yet I never complained. Why? Because the football part of it always pulled me back. I loved every second of it, every moment. Take the notebook with me everywhere comparing players on my list then setting tactics based on their strengths.

This is what I'm looking for. I know we are in an age where all this should be long gone but I seriously couldn't care any less if a football game gave me what I wanted from it on the pitch. I'm ready to get back to pen and paper if that's what it takes. And PES gives me that, not Fifa.

In conclusion, PES on the pitch isn't poor, Fifa is. And I'm not one bit biased. I couldn't care less what company it is that gives me what I want. It can be a one man company/project with childish crayon drawings of Chris Camara in the background but gives me the best on the pitch football gaming experience I'm looking for.

And this is my honest opinion.

That was a brilliant post Lami. I'm in the same boat and i couldn't agree more. If my english was better maybe i'd have written the same things.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

For the first time EVER i have got a refund for a pro evo game. Gameplay is too similar to PES 12, online is laggy and restricted, MLO is a pile of shit, no league mode, master league is a joke, all players wear black boots, licences are crap, presentation is super gay, online lobbies are only unranked online, they brought back a lot of the slow turn animations from PES 12 in the final version ( these werent present in either demo) etc etc.

Yes the shooting is better, yes individuality is good but the negatives outweigh the positives for me especially the removal of league no excuse for that ones. Sad day indeed.

I guess ill have to play FIFA 13 this year. With all its shortcomings as a package it is much better value than pro evo.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Well hope you enjoy it then :)

Make sure the door doesn't hit you in the ass on your way out sir :BRMM:

Your post validates that you either are a PES noob, or never played PES 13. Can't fool me pal

He has a point with this comment though as turning circles were perfect in demo 1.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Not long back from game night at mates and thought would give pes a run through, normally lasts 2/3 games as they have issues/things they don't like about it but tonight, played for hours on end, was excellent it reminded like the good ol days, so much fun to be had, quite worried now due to whole new engine next pes which mean's could be pes 08 onwards re run again but let's hope an improvement on this, which will be great.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

its such a shame that every seems wrong with this except the gameplay.

Sums it up, really. Has anyone noticed that some teams don't even have their names on the back of their kits? It's not the biggest deal, but it sums up Konami's inability to get the simple stuff right when it comes to presentation, or basically anything other than gameplay. It's always been the case, but it's actually getting worse. This is the first year I've actually felt insulted by the non-gameplay package, rather than just underwhelmed.

The gameplay is sweeeeeeeet though. We'll all find things to hate soon (I can see a few on the horizon already) but it's so much nicer than PES 2012 it makes me want to jump around. Lovely technical, tactical game compared to recent offerings. I'm still getting adjusted to what they've done to the right stick, but the new dribbling subtly alters the way the game uses space, and obviously has a lot of potential. The flow of games feels fantastic: it may just be my imagination, but matches often seem to start off cagey, liven up before half time then get pretty stretched towards the end, a big change from PES2012 where they just felt like a random bunch of incidents - if there's some Konami code controlling that, well this is one kind of scripting I really don't mind. Zero-bar and manual passing feel almost perfect to me at the moment, unlike the demos (particularly demo 1). I still think manual shooting is bollocks, though.

Obvious stuff that needs patching - goalies parrying everything, most obviously - but that'll probably happen. What worries me is that Konami will do what they usually do: listen to the horrible button-mashing kids and use the gameplay patches to speed it up and dumb it down. Right now, I'd say the pace on 0 is better than any PES game in history... there are times when it seems a tiny bit slow and times when it seems a tiny bit fast, but mostly it's right in the sweet spot, and I reckon any tinkering in that area would wreck the balance. And at the moment it feels like the game rewards realistic play more often than punishing it (i.e. the opposite of PES2012), which I can also see being unpopular in certain quarters. Fingers crossed that when the inevitable Konami patches come round they respect the fundamental balance of what is, for all its too-familiar faults, the closest thing to a proper football sim Konami have managed in years.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I know man but honestly the way some of these FIFA BOYS write it disgusts me. How can you say THE ENTIRE GAME is pretty much shit ? :CONFUSE: Its a lie anyone can see miles away.

I play the game that gives me more value for money. This year it is FIFA, your fanboyism is what keeps Konami in business and making shoddy second rate games. There is no reason why Konami should charge full price for PES 2013. Wat have they done? nothing that couldnt have been implemented in a patch in PES 2012. If anything they REMOVED features. Key features from the game. If u think PES 2013 represents good value for money, good for you but font belittle those with a differing opinion.

BTW ive got every PES since ISS so i can hardly be called a "FIFA BOY"

@araul okay you made your point now you just embarasing yourself. A patch?! LOL and Fifa is a total evolution yeah.

Tell me wat exactly has changed except for tweaks to the engine? Maybe player ID. thats about it. An awesome featute yes but not enough to justify everything that is wrong with the game. I never said FIFA is a total evolituon but at least they added features not removed them. Dont know how im embarrassing myself?
