Does anyone find secondary pressure a touch overpowered in PES2013?

Loving the game – and just as I thought, magic boots are a non-issue. They're so easily ignored, tucked away in a sub-menu, that I forgot all about them after a while. I couldn't even tell that my players weren't wearing the 'correct' boots to begin with. You have to go looking for this problem to find it.

Good to hear. So you've started a ML then? I wanna get cracking straight into one but might have to wait for the transfer update in 5 or so weeks time. Argh.

But hey, that was my decision. I can't rush out and buy a product day one given the revelations and mis-information of the last couple of weeks.

I'm with you mate - completely agree, and have also decided not to buy it yet until I see how things develop. I cannot really imagine PES without league mode, unfortunately.

I guess we shouldn't check back here all the time to read the mouth-watering reports about gameplay :))

dunno about pes 2012 but

use R2 to jockey, use this button most of the time

if you get pulled out of position tap/hold A to pull yourself back into position

R1 + A is used to hone yourself straight into the ball, which can be useful for 50/50 or when running beside someone and things like that

time your tackles with double tap of A

general tip: try and control a midfielder and track back, instead of selecting a player in your back four

ummm... Arsenal has possesion tactic and i just want to ran over a small team in the CL and i just got a lot of counter attack and a loss of 0-2, next match against Valencia, i also tried that in the first few minutes and got 1 goal, then i calmed down passed around the pitch, Arshavin hit 2, Podolski hit 1, and Cazorla hit also 1 with super teamwork and with patience while looking for a gap, and i also win with this tactic with 1-0 with less chances and it felt great...passing around the pitch and i wasnt frustrated not to creating chances like in the previous pes games

Yes, just a trial run to see how the new micro-training mechanics (that's what the items are) all work. I usually play a League Mode while we wait for OFs etc., but well.... ugh. Not happy at all about that.

But Bootgate is nothing, really. I think this whole nonsense has stemmed from one person – ONE person – deciding that he didn't like the aesthetic appearance of the standard-issue boots on his players. Which, again, you have to go out of your way to notice, i.e. pausing the game and flicking from player to player in replay.

So, first thing I did was start a MLO with Liverpool and renamed them the Junior Cows. That's right.

Three games in, all have had horrible connections according to the bar but have thankfully not been ruined by lag inspite of this. Good sign!

Yes I know about that but CPU still closes down / catches up and i know about arrows too.
I think the worst crime is your speed off the ball.

Fucking HDMI gone again
Only been back from Microsoft for 6 months after last repair.
I have to say the 360 is the worst console. Ive had 3 now and they keep breaking.

Everything about pes is good but keepers like i said, they parry too much and the scripting got shifted from the cpu running through all your players to human keeper controlling the score.

Xbox are a pile of shite, they're designed to break, I really sympathise with you, I had 4 that broke in a year, switched to ps3 and haven't had a problem since

First match impressions:
So, soooo, much slower than Demo 2 (I even had to check the speed setting and it IS on 0).
I've had a penalty! Didn't have one in a million demo games, this is good.
Corzola has taken the piss out of my Juventus defence with skills, I.e nice individualism.
Crowd effects, to me playing with Surround System on, are ace.
(ps3).
More after a few more opponents.

Hmmmn, not really. Or at least not to the point where I have felt it maybe an issue. I played my best mate last night, who is a PES fanatic since day one. In fact, he was with me when I first bought ISS 64 (we packed our girlfriends and the kids off to Centerparks for 3 days so we could play it).

Anyway, he plays ML constantly, and he loves the whole double pressure shit. He uses this against the CPU and it's engrained into him when he plays me. He had trouble last night taking the ball off my players with secondardy pressure, my R2 movements were more than enough to give me the angles to drop a shoulder and buy me a second to knock the ball on. Basically, if I can thwart him and his secondary presure, then I think it's fine.

What I did notice though that was that primary pressure is still there with sprint and X. I thought they had removed it completely, they haven't. That's a shame, it would have forced people to think a lot more about the skills of defending. I really enjoy the new 'hold up' play with X then R1 or double-tap of X for the step-in challenge.

Thankfully though, the control with R2 can prevent the 'spam' pressure when used correctly.

Oh, and my first match ended with possession stats of 49/51 which is encouraging.

How?! What level are you playing and what teams? I've never had a match where I've had less than 60%, and usually average 65% regardless of teams.

Playing as Palermo vs Barcelona on Top Player, I remember my possession being 66%.

ok i played the 2nd demo on the PC and now i can tell you for sure that the only one god thing in the demos is that the players feel much more free then the final game, but now i can import the good thing from the demo to the final game :)

Just with regards to having the L2 button stuck down constantly. In the manual it states that if you are on Zero Pass Assistance, then you don't need to hold R2 down at all for passing. I'm not so sure about that though, as I also felt L2 was even more manual, if you know what I mean.

Professional, in the Champions League.
Perhaps I'm just shit.
My next game, home to Shakhtar just finished 53/47.
Can't get used to how slow it is compared to Demo 2 (the first demo is a distant memory).

Yesterday I had a longer session of pes and have to say it's actually very good, no need to be worried, it's no doubt going to grow in everyone of us :)

I'd like Yair putting in one of his patches the ball sound as it was in demo1. I think that hearing the sound when you hit the ball give more depth to the experience of shooting
