PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

This game isn't getting any better :( played about 20 matches now.

No offence but you are a novice at the game, I was the same until around three days in, now being patient and learning it again is paying off.

You can't possibly expect to know the game since this morning, in Master League I was beaten 6/7 games, reason? Game was crap? Nah, just me.

Shooting is down to individuality, I had two one on ones with Kevin Mirallas, keeper saved his tame finish easily, had two one on ones with Asamoah Gyan, he blasted them past the keeper before he could move, in over one season I have scored two goals outside the box, keeper has either saved the others or they have went wide, reason? I have no midfielders good enough to put one past them just now.

I agree about the scripted CPU, it feels blatant at times and very frustrating to squander chance after chance only for them to get one corner at the end and score.

Keeper do feel a little less animated than demo 1, they aren't really making mistakes but just not as good animation wise when making saves.

The sprint button acts as a first touch dart of pace, after that it like treacle, so you have to double and triple tap to remain ahead of a defender.

I could have easily came on here last week with complaints, but as usual most of it was my own lack of ability.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I still recall on PES2 or 3 I think when there were no hooped shirts, but their was a lovely collection of strange oversized heads....

Apologies for saying so again, but having bought every iteration of this game since the days of ISS, I'm really not sure (despite the great gameplay) that it's actually value for money this year.

Like Gerd, I have two children (albeit younger) and I don't get the time I did before, but still love the longevity of playing with a crud team that you can take to glory over a number of years, or in my case mid-table mediocrity.

ML used to offer me that but there appear to be so many caveats with this version.

db

Exactly, this portrays how Konami is losing the battle. They're letting down longtime loyal customers and trying to cater to younger audiences - but we're talking about kids who will prefer the appeal of FIFA with all the licences and presentation.
For veterans like us, ML is sacred.

But even for the casual users who would play online mostly, they won't allow the simple option to choose from the wide array of nice football-shaped coconuts, barrels, candies and whatever else they let us purchase on PES Shop

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Played the full game and its alright. Better than 2012. I have been playing on superstar and its not as hard as I thought it would be, to be honest. The only game I lost was to Inter with Milan (2-0). So I like the fact that its not too easy. I did not play demo 2 but I can't take people seriously when they say full game is not as good as demo 1. That just doesn't make sense to me because the first demo was no where near being a complete game. Clearly the full game is a better and more complete game. The only thing I would want in the full version from demo 1 is the shooting. Other than that, I can't see how anyone would prefer demo 1.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

ye shooting and passing is better than demo 1, shooting was over the top
defence attack dribbling scripting etc. no issues here
better passing alone makes it a much better game
also i play on 0 now, feels just a bit faster than -1 on demo1, good

but mate, you would have quit two games in if this was fifa and you felt the same way. you know in your heart there is something pulling you back for more... you know that you can build this team to dominate... LOL

ok one more thing i remember from playing last night. Passing was much better, in 2012 many times you would try to split the defense or play a pass out wide from the AM player. %95 of the time the CPU would read your play and cut it out.. now the cpu isnt superman and cant cover ground that fast. I am at work right now, then i go home and watch my boy untill bedtime, then my Super Bowl Champs Giants play the Panthers. IM seriously considering recording the football game, and playing PES instead. It certainly has that, "I cant wait to get home feel to it" Never had that with 2012 when playing 1 vs cpu

This is the epitome of what PES is all about.

Yep, I noticed exactly this. Those passes now get there, even in very tight spaces, you can just slip them in. And this for me was on Zero Assistance, which is so far removed from the inconsistencies of Zero on PES 2012.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

fuck it. Gonna get in. Watch my beloved LFC (lose), order a takeaway then crack open PES13. Hopefully Daymos OF will be out tonight.

Bring it on!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I have to say that i was hoping a few non gameplay isses that are huge obstacles to the game would be improved:

1) I don't seem to find a decent camera to play. Wide makes the game feeling dead and visually crap. medium to close, long ain't that bad but it swings and the ball in the air disappeared way too manyu times. Old broadcast from pes 2010 very much needed
2) Night game lighting makes the game flat, ugly and unpleasant.
3) Penalties are still rubbish

How hard would it be to have a decent amount of camera options?

About the boots: i have the feeling they took the idea from nba 2k and as usual they overdid it.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

After reading the instruction manual, it states that the Community option is being released as an Online Community option. This truly is ridiculous. Arguably the best offline feature that Konami has introduced in years has now completely disappeared ? For the love of God, why ? :CONFUSE:

We know why - it's so there's no way for us to play any kind of league season without magic boots.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Shots are definitely too floaty. The idea isn't bad it's just the implementation, most players can thump a ball in real life, but this doesn't allow you to unless the power stat is high. I think it should be more like players over "60" can hammer a shot, those over "85" have less chance of mis-kicking, especially if their accuracy is high.

I have hit a rocket with Clichy who has kicking power rated at 67, I know this because I checked the stat after the shot because I was surprised at how powerful the strike was.

I'm not so sure about that conspiracy theory. I mean really, who gives a shit about boots ? I would say that type of marketing would be better served towards the Fifa's strongest demographic.

I don't have the answer, but I certainly don't buy into that.

I've yet to play the game, but I don't even feel this whole boot malarky will even be considered or remembered after a couple of games.

And this isn't 'Jimmy Grimble' magic boots we are talking about, we are talking minor stat boosts that will be barely even noticable for the most part during play.

(By the way, if anyone has yet to see the movie 'There's only one Jimmy Grimble', aquire it, it's a great little movie about a kid who is given a pair of 'supposed' magic football boots. :TU:)

2) Night game lighting makes the game flat, ugly and unpleasant. Nightgames have looked dreadful for years how hard can it be to get it right?

3) Penalties are still rubbish They have always looked poor in PES - remember the angle from the corner of the net?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Impressed how smooth and balanced the game is online. Shame that either my router or Konami servers are messing it all up, keep seeing the "unforseen circunstances" message.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I'm still pissed Konami got rid of the 'manual' penalties from PES 2010 and 2011, they were perfect in my opinion.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Yeah best pen system ever that just needed refining not completely scrapping. Think people just couldn't be bothered to practice them so complained they were bad

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Sry in advance for the double post - I have already posted it in the pc section -:

Is anybody having problems with online? The game returns me to its principal menu when I'm connecting to online, after having entered the password =S

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Does any modder know if its even possible to fix the black boots in ML so that players start with different boots etc..

Is it slower than previous releases online? Felt like I was playing Speedball 2 on Pes 2012

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Has anyone noticed that sometimes a player will take a heavy touch whilst dribbling, I have had the ball get away from me a few times. I thought I noticed it in PES2012 also but put it down to some sort of bug but I guess they have added error into the dribbling, someone here was hoping PES or FIFA would introduce this. I think its a nice touch, it could be a bit more frequent though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I've been encouraged this last three hours about gameplay and shooting from people on other forums and on Twitter. Opinions are just that, and everyone is entitled. But I'm going to take a punt and buy the game tomorrow, just going to jump straight in and get it. No more negativity, no more PES 12.5, just going to play some demos tonight, watch Liverpool, and get the game in the morning. Peace out dudes.

But I am not getting frustrated and losing games...there is just no spark, it just isnt fun.

I will give it a few more days of course. But early warning signs are smacking me in the face.

I really thought this was the year PES was back :(

Come on, Jimmy! If you're going to go there, at least go for 'Billy's Boots' :Y1

+1 here. That PK system was excellent (although the dink kick was almost impossible to miss). But now it's totally arcadey.

BTW, Jimmy Grimble I think I watched it once. Isn't Robert Carlyle in it? He was the coach, I guess?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Oh yes, much slower. The pace of the players also seems very much spot on. And players like Ronaldo are no longer unstoppable, 'cause of the improved defensive system.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Demo#1 I loved it.

Demo#2 liked it and then started to love it.

PES 2013 full game... The very feeling of PES 2012 re-appeared again.

Starting with shooting which feels underpowered now a lot, balls feels heavier, but passing is nice and zippy. Goalkeepers are a bloody fucking joke though. Winning 8-0 is not a problem as they let every shot in!!!!

Through the middle it goes... Oh look goal scored zzz. Unfortunately near post syndrome is here too.

Defensive AI is better, cheating scripts are less visible and pacey players now can have some head start vs slower defenders/midfielders.

Player ID is great as usual...

Sadly, the amount of howlers and bad things in full game diminish pluses :/.

Night games look HUELLVA BAD, chants choice is also shit (KONAMI ffs get rid of that La La La La Xmas Man Utd song please!!!), the atmosphere on Spanish stadiums is better (not but much, but at least more believable).

Commentary is as boring as ever, absolutely couldn't hear any new lines, yet. Put me to sleep, so turned this off. Already.

Master League is slug fest. Optional boots/training or not, this is ruining any realistic experience. All players on YOUR and OPPOSITION teams start with black coal boots. Not using other boots will be very hard, trust me on that! Default boots just look sad.

The AI build up is more visible than in both demos, but the AI will still play that long over the top of defense pin point through balls out of nowhere. Making their striker score 1 on 1 pretty much every time. -.-

No league mode for now. Hoping for DLC to add it back.

Cameras and no options to set them up is terrible. There is absolutely NO CAMERA setting which I like in this game. :/.

Playing on 0 passing is a joy, but why do it when you can't appreciate the game fully? Oh yes, the game on PC on 0 speed feels like something in between -2 and -1 speed on PES 2012.

Sad to say this, but I cannot see people coming back to PES full game this year either. KONAMI ruined full game, once more :(. Off to play some older titles again. Boo-hoo :(.

FIFA will remain strong once more this year. KONAMI break the piggy bank for PES 2014 development. You need EU programmers and knowledge badly. ;)
