Yeah I play on zero assists buddy. The decisions that the computer makes just don't replicate what players would do in the same situations in real life and also what the human player is capable of doing. If a team has setup 2 banks of 4, off the ball movement and clever passing are what you rely on to break them down, not just charging at them. Not once have I seen the CPU recycle the ball from the final third, draw out my team, switch it quickly then go again. When I play Barca, I should cherish getting the ball cause I'm not gonna see it again for another 5 mins, this doesn't happen.

I'm sorry, I aint buying that.

Demo 1 shooting was ridiculously overpowered and unrealistic in my opinion. It was like playing PES on the PS2 in that regard. It's much more contextual these days and therefore a lot more realistic with regards technique.

And I appreciate people hate to hear this, but half of it is learning the shooting and keeping it real.

Also, after playing the demo a lot more last night, I found that pressing the CPU will force them to look forward, if you contain, the CPU pass it around so much better. A lot better than PES 2012.

That's the problem, why should i fix things that KONAMI made in a bad way? Plus i am a PC gamer from this year (mainly cause i still regret the 70 euros i paid for the PS3 version of pes 2012, so the 30 euro i paid for pes2013 PC is a much more aceptable price) so i dont see how i can create 2 different option files. Anyway my solution will be to play only european master league, and to put as a second division the J-League, which is neighter european, nor american, so no matter what i do in bal, it wont mess up too much (apart from the fact that in master league the j-league will be the second division of the league i will choose, but i prefer this compared to have Serie B teams that qualify for libertadores)

Just tap R1 twice and your player gain advantage if its more faster than defender,

i disagree with your two points, its not rigid and the shooting is fine. I feel the player movements and animations are different then the demo... Its not rigid int he sense that you can play how you like and you have to think about different ways to attack the cpu, the game is played in the midfield, not in the opposition third. No longer do your players slide at balls in the box when trying to score, this was a huge flaw in 2012, so annyoing. As for shooting, its better then pes 2012, and with a patch from yair it will be fine. I can say this, PES 2013 without jenkey patch is much better then 2012 with jenkey patch, and that is a good thing... I do feel however it is still pes 2012.5 because its not a big difference between 2012. At least with fifa you get new game modes and CM fixes, we get nothing with PES. Have you guys seen this nickname bullshit in ML, WTF?

One last note, as I was playing my ML with Espanyol I started noticing key players for me in the midfield, sanchez is his name. He was winning balls, playing in balls, keeping things tidy. This has been missing since the ps2 days, so the days of noticing new players and loving them is back. I also agree tactics do seem to matter, I was down 2-0 and I went all attack and i was parked in there end.... There has been some beautiful interplay that was not present in 2012, i.e. one touches have been massively improved. In 2012 they were 30/70. %30 of the time they worked, %70 they had no pace and the movement died. However maybe this is down to playing with a shitty team in ML, but this interplay does not happen enough(which is realistic IMO). For instance i was inter vs bologna and I dominated the shit out of them.. so maybe yes, this is another big improvement over 2012. And now that im typing this out, i actually want to be playing the game, it does have that "ONE MORE GAME" feeling. Even though while your playing your like, WTF, I cant score or create chances. I played fifa 2012 the other day, I setup a CM with lazio, downloaded sliders, a patch, etc.. i was bored after 5 minutes, PES 2013 is a much different feeling of hmmm whats going on here, instead of being bored, I want to play more to master the game.

The dynamic one twos were working out for me as well, but there are hard as shit to pull off... Hmm maybe i was wrong about there not being big differences

jimmy is spot on about holding them up... they do pass more when you dont press, the good thing is that when you do press, they no longer all turn into maradonas.. they tend to pass instead of dribble your whole team.

it is fair to assume that ps3 users and pc users are having slightly different experiences on the game.

I had both version last year and pc (not modded) seemed a lot more fluent and with better shooting.

I am on the ps3 version right now.

Playing a lot with Arsenal...and honestly there's very few defenders that can compete with Walcott in full speed.
Hulk, Hooper, Varela, James Rodriguez and others, not like Messi or Ronaldo, but with good speed. Never had that problem.

And what difficulty are you playing on? Because players have no problems catching up to Cristiano Ronaldo even if their top speed is in the 60's.

On a few occasions, I've taken shots that were a bit soft, but it's hardly PES 2012-esque. If you have a bit of space and you're at a good angle (facing the goal), you can easily smash the ball. People act as if every shot balloons up into the air, I just don't feel that's the case. If anything, the shooting feels more balanced than Demo 1 where everything flew off your foot like a rocket. I have seen a few ridiculously fast headers though.

This isnt good news at all. All I really wanted to do was play a league with the Brazilian teams someone ropey like Recife, and eventually after a number of seasons try and get into the Copa Libertadores but clearly as this has to be played in the ML structure I can't do it simply.

After 1 season presumably there will be promotion and relegation with the 'teams' in the D2 league, and also 'teams' from the WE league will be qualifying for the Copa Lib too.

The only way to retain any sense of authenticity, it seems is for the 'teams' in the WE league and the 'teams' in the D2 league to be other South American ones... BUT if I understand correctly these two leagues cannot be filled with clubs that feature in the Copa Libertadores mode e.g. Boca, Bolivar, Nacional, Cruz Azul etc...

If so, does that mean that WE and D2 leagues will need to be filled up with craeted teams like Colon and San Lorenzo e.g. teams that aren't in PES2013 at all

Hopefully the European office will help with transfers etc but all Konami need is to have a list of summer transfers for the clubs in the game (and there aren't even that many leagues anyways), and just get a small team of people to change them all round. Heck, there are probably people out there who would do it for free.

I know there are option files etc but I'm gradually being weighed down by all this nonsense. Yes, gameplay is absolutely king but these days I'm getting more than jaded by buying PES on release only to play as 'Merseyside Reds' with no kit and players who left the club in July in their starting eleven.

It's almost starting to make me wish FIFA had the CL licence now, with that the Career Mode would be incredible, as CL is the standout part of PES ML that keeps me waning to play it. It's all about building your team and club from scratch and eventually mixing it in the CL, so from that aspect PES ML is great, but seeing as everything else about ML is so shit these days I do kind of wish FIFA could get the licence and make Career Mode the definitive game mode to play. Sacrilege I know, but Konami are making me think that way.

All this boots and missing modes business, out of date transfers, the need to OF the game, not to mention traditionally shite ML stuff STILL remaining in the game against all logic (internationals taking place a day before a big CL match, five home games in a row, player moaning, the list goes on) and Konami are really trying to make me avoid their game. I only play football games offline and where there's some kind of career to sink my teeth into, which is why FIFA seems so appealing this year. Gameplay is still king but it's not the only thing.

Just picked up my copy, the usual black bag under the counter shenanigans. Unfortuntately it will be 8pm before I get to play it as I have a match straight after work. It's a good day for football :)

Call me cynical but I wonder if this is part of their tactics to regain some consumer confidence.

Maybe they always planned to release it later as it wasn't ready and they were SO keen to release before FIFA but they didn't want to say "yeah, you'll get the League mode later" as this would affect week by week sales vs FIFA.

Hmmm, not sure. Surely league mode would be 'copy and paste' from PES2012 seeing as not much has changed between the two games. Adding league mode at a later date seems like a bizarre move, something which I doubt is part of the plan. Seems too far fetched to me.

Konami screwed up, plain and simple. I think that can be ascertained from Jon Murphy's words. "I've made my feelings very clear" is quite assertive language. Obviously Jon is not happy about this either.

Totally agree with this, playing in ML as Vorchelard FC or whatever their name is with the horrible kits that look no where near as good as the real ones, really drops the immersion levels and puts a bit of a downer on things.

I played a few season of FIFA12s career mode and it always makes me chuckle to see people saying how amazing FIFAs ML is. Yes it looks very nice with its Sky Sports presentation and deadline day is AWESOME but apart from that its absolutely terrible. I would sub a guy who would go off and the replacement would not come on, sometimes players would just vanish for no reason, I would start games and the CPU team would have 3 players on the pitch and I got to a point where the game would crash whenever I started a match. I will never buy another FIFA game again because of the career mode and all its faults. ML may be a bit laughable in some ways in comparison but at least it works.

Its same as demo 2 really.

Love the stadia, players look amazing...but the game still lacks something.

It isnt FUN. I just cant put my finger on why, maybe its because I have been enjoying FIFA 13 demo so much? I dont know.

Its a 'marmite' game (is that right saying?) I think. Some will love it, some will hate it.

I hate the shooting. Its bad. Really spoils the game for me. Presentation is standard Konami fare too (poor).

Still way behind FIFA in my very honest opinion but a good game.

If I was review: 7/10

Played online and apart from lagging as all hell I COULD SEE THE OTHER GUYS MANUAL ARROW! WTF, that means he can see mine and anticipate where im gonna pass, KONAMI are a bunch of fwits, this game gets worse evry second...so angry that i spent $80 on this piece of outdated $hit...

I played a few season of FIFA12s career mode and it always makes me chuckle to see people saying how amazing FIFAs ML is. At least you dont have some random no name generic teams polluting the division when after one season two teams get promoted from D2. It's rubbish and kills the immersion.
