Same here. Let's see what PC demo 2 brings in the shooting department.



Seems like Konami has forgotten they are releasing early this year and kept their day one updates to the normal October schedule.

Another fuck up.

Well if its anything like consoles, shooting in demo 2 was toned down from demo 1. Although in demo 2 it was balanced, I enjoyed shooting less than demo 1. I felt Konami assigned powerful shooting to those players who (in the real) can rocket them in. But on the flip side it made shooing slightly limp with the lesser players.

I have just one question for real players, players that don't care about FREAKING BOOTS or league being cut off and strictly focus on gameplay. Where do you rank this game ? Best PES ever ?

what is this? play the demo then with yair's gameplay patch mate if only the gameplay what matters

So what your basically saying is that you have no opinion yourself, and are letting the decision to return the game lie firmly in the hands of forum members ? Wow.

But if 8/10 people say shooting is fooked then I think it will be safe to assume it will be.

Scored in BAL goal from 25 meters in left up corner, my rating is 55..so shoting is much better than 2012

Nice one. Sounds better. Their are mixed views out their at the minute. that's for sure. To buy or not to buy? Jury is still out!

I'd be shocked if shooting had regressed so much, as it was almost perfectly fine in Demo 1. Just the ease of long-ranged shots needed toning down. I fail to see how they could mess up the aiming mechanics again in such a short space of time?

So, summer transfers aren't being updated until mid-October? FFS. I was wanting to throw myself straight into a ML this weekend.

The transfer window shut in August, does it really take that long to switch players around in a database? It would take a couple of people a weekend or less to do, let along two fucking months.

Konami are pissing me off to the point where I'm considering just getting FIFA13. That seems like a revelation this year.

Exactly my point a few pages ago. How fucking ridiculous is this? Couldn't they have foreseen it and planned accordingly? Also, any teenager with time in their hands can do single-handedly all the transfers in 1 weekend. Why can't a company like Konami do it?

When you analyse it as a whole, it is an incomplete game off the box. No updated transfers, limited licenses and DLC/patches already scheduled. The game is incomplete, they know it, but they release it anyway.

To add insult to injury, they removed the offline League mode - which is a more casual mode that allows us to get up to speed with the game and buy some time before we can start the ML, having already installed the DLC, Transfers, Option File with kits, emblems, etc.

Licenses and patches we can understand. But the bloody transfers is unacceptable. Massive cock up IMO.

I won't be buying this game until mid-October, when it will be properly ready to be played.

I'm starting to feel a litle bit uneasy after posting my first impressions..

First of all: they are just that: first impressions after 5 (five) matches.
Secondly: PES2013 is much, much better than PES2012. It's a quantum leap (but it better should be because PES2012 was awfull).
Besides that: i like to play football games and play PES since PES1, but i never considered myself a particularly good player. I think most people on this forum would beat me quite comfortably (and that might be an understatement). So maybe it's not the game that may appear broken (and it is not broken), but the player holding the controller.

In 5 matches i played one against my son: a 1-0 win with Anderlecht against Barcelona were the difference in quality between both clubs was obvious. I had one counter and Jovanovic could tap in the ball from far...

Then Thomas (my son) and i played two matches together against the CPU. We playing with Belgium, loosing 3-1 against Germany. Vey realistic: we dominating but Germany countering and scoring at an almost 100% rate. The good news is that playing together against the CPU is much, much better than in previous editions.

Next matches i played against the CPU.

Torino - Atalanta (=me). I won that match by 1-0, a shot from outside the box.

Atletico Madrid - Granada 2-0 Is it a coïncidence that this was the best match. Atletico had most possession but Granada was dangerous on the counter. This could have been a life coverage of the match. There was only one thing irealistic: Falcao's shooting was poor (but he could have been on a purple arrow down, the first games i don't bother with the tactics).

All in all (and remember: these are first impressions): PES2013 is much, much better than PES2013. It also has less obvious flaws than PES2011 (which i really liked despite these flaws) and might be better than 2011. But that is PES: you can only judge it after a couple of weeks or months.

Something that impressed me was the the movement of your team mates.

Oh and finally, one advice from a 50 year old child. Don't judge the game by other persons' opinions. The guy who does not want to open his parcel is (with all respect) a litle bit of a lunatic. Just try the game and judge it after a couple of weeks. Unfortunately that is the way things are with video games.

IMO (and as first impressions) it's not the development team who fucked up with Konami.

I'm worried about the pace on the ball being toned down. I really hope it's not because I loved whipping a shot in on demo 1. Shots had fizz, dip, serve on them. You could score some beauts. Shooting is an integral part of football. Without it's just keep ball.

my rates are
PES2013 Full = 5/10
PES2013 Demo1 = 8/10

I am very disappointed by the way that game works.
It gets 5/10 just becouse of freshness it offers with player animations and without animations its no more than 3/10.

Main thing about sport games is replay value and this "piece of game" has none replay value.
I realy realy dont see why should i after long day of work come home and play this?

Shame on you KONAMI. For sure this is last game that i will buy that has KONAMI sign.

Is it just me or have the keepers got worse since the demo? I only played demo 1, but there is a lot more parrying into the centre of the goal than before.

So it is not just me! I liked keepers in demo1 much more.

Surely it is much better than 2012 but not as good as demo 1. At least you can decide the direction of the ball. IMO both keepers and shooting are toned down! why Konami?

The same like last year. If you want play quick matck you can chose similar level opponet or similar assist. That's all.

Has anybody on any difficulty level had lower possession then the CPU? I mean without intentionality letting them have the ball more. Have the CPU at any point just kept the ball for any length of time? I've played all sorts of teams, all difficulty levels and the lowest I ever see is 60-40 to me.

BTW personally I have no problems with the shooting at all, I aim and shoot, the player shoots, you can bend it, put it where you want, dink it, all sorts of options are available.

the fact that menu, visual, audio is pretty much the same doesn't really help it to feel it fresh for sure. Even the presenation with gardeners ain't exactly very fascinating.

Tbh when i picked the game up i was pretty amused to see the cover is pretty much identical to pes 2012!

I am afraid CPU does not hold the ball. Even with superteams. I actually noticed that if you stop running and stand there, on max setting, sometimes no other player come chasing you. maybe a little glitch. I should test more tonite.

anyway there are some different chants in, especially for rivarly matches, but the overall crowd noise reminds that of an old tv that lost its signal...bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Fabulous to hear. Hearing so much positivity around FIFA and so little marvelling at PES that I was starting to worry. Played one game just now, Man Utd v Juve....man, it was fkin perfect. I need to stop reading the negative comments, they must be playing a different game to me. For me, this year is so sim-like it's more than what I could have hoped for.

@Abu - do the CPU play a more patient build up approach? I hear many people still not getting to grips with defending this year and saying the CPU is just attack, attack, attack. Personally I don't find it the case to be honest, BUT, I would like a tad more slower CPU build up? So what's the retail like in terms of game pace over demo 2 and CPU build up v demo 2?

hey mate yeah the cpu mixes its tactics all the time iv played over 20 games and the tactics for each team are constantly different its unbelievable, i agree the tackling is new but takes time to master i love it, this game is amazing, i play this game on top player, i strongly disagree with the cpu attacking constantly its always mixed :-)

It's very comforting reading this from you Gerd. I remember we share very similar opinions about PES 2012 and it's great to hear that the good gameplay is back.
Despite the obvious flaws, stuff they shouldn't have removed, stuff they shouldn't have included... it still sounds worth buying.

BTW can anyone confirm which commentator languages are available for the EU version?

The shootings perfectly fine, you can't hit rockets as often, it all depends who you have shooting and how you hit/angle your at, i think the curling/finese needs toned down but it's fine

It took me a while to learn the game mechanics, and I was getting crazy 70-75% possession...BUT I was losing. Now that I understand the game better and not press so much, the possession stats sometimes are almost 50-50. Mostly, it's around 57/58% to me, but this has been the case since forever with me playing footy games.

Do you play on zero assists?

EDIT - also I believe the tactics actually work this year. For example I was losing one nil to Juve as Bayern, when I switched my defensive line from 14-18 and put that attacking bar thingy up to its fullest, this pressed them high up the pitch but in units, this forced them to play back and around their third more which I thought was cool.

hey mate yeah im on the ps3, this game is really amazing the different tactics used by different teams really stands out this year, and to be honest i really dont mind the boots, more of an incentive for me to use them cause in the past when i donwloaded the boots i didnt bother using them, i give it the thumbs up :-)

same. Been playing it this morning. Game is better than PES 2012 but still feels too rigid and shooting is poor.

Shame as I had high hopes. FIFA game for me again this year
