I assumed it was down to PES's recent licensing acquisitions around La Liga teams and stadiums, but true it may be more straightforward than that. But PES has its own exclusives like the Champions League license etc. Which must be annoying for them if you consider how much better the career mode would be in FIFA if it had a fully authentic Champions League.
I don't think the two sides will ever come to work together, but there is reason to believe that legal action could be taken against EA's monopolisation of licensing, however I can't see how such a case could be brought against them when Konami themselves are profiting from exclusive licenses.
We don't even know if the loss of the Camp Nou is down to PES, nor did I insinuate that. They couldn't agree terms.
But I agree, I'm hoping there is a point where both sides come to work together rather than screw each other over. It will never happen but one can hope.
You have to admit that the race for licenses has been a one sided affair so this is a little victory for PES fans, no matter how petty that may sound.
