PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Any game that encourages more of dribbling (High level fancy skills) than passing will forever be seen as arcadey. Fifa right now looks like an eyesore. I don't know whether studying animations is what caused it for me but the way they do skills moves just looks disgustingly repulsive and unnatural. The movement lacks a naturalness to it.

The last 3 pages:

Discussion of demo1 > demo2 > final game.

This has become an habit since last year with 2 demo releases system and that provoke our hate for Konami and a excuse of saying that the final game will be bad, because we will never play "demo1" full game. (that supposedly is the better version of the game)

Why 2 demos Konami??? You love to irritate us and see how the game fall in to pieces? Is the only game that doing this!!! And is bad to our health.

They don't gave us pc players 2nd demo..

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Can someone who has played Demo 2 comment on something for us lowly PC users - is there any improvement in your players 'locking on' to the ball? I had real issues in Demo 1 where I'd be running for a loose ball and look to be about to nip in ahead of the CPU player, only to just plain miss the ball.

There are also massive player switching issues, but I kind of expect that from Konami at this stage. It's one of the ways they make it more challenging. My personal favourite is when the CPU does a perfect through ball, you hit switch and it puts you in control of the full back who is all the way across the pitch (more than likely keeping the damn attacker onside).

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yeah I can see the love in the post below

:BYE:

Apologies I'll stop being an ass now...

For me to be really happy, these problems you quoted me listing would have to be solved, but nonetheless I like demo1, otherwise I wouldn't be playing it since release.

Happiness is a much stronger and higher state than merely liking something.

Demo2 is different, I don't like the direction it went, instead of merely solving the problems which Konami did for some things, they also reduced or made worse things people including me liked in demo 1, like the individuality and gamepace and the general feeling of it playing it.

I hope Konami changes it back to the feeling, individuality, ballcontrol, freedom and realism demo1 offered for the final release and combines it with the improvements regarding playerswitching, animation and atmosphere demo2 offered... and adds a better logic to the referree and reduces cheating.

Fingers crossed!

yeah, both issues you are talking about were sorted in Demo 2

Are the aerial through balls still on rails? That aspect of the game really annoys me, especially when the CPU does them to create one on one situations that you literally cannot defend, even if you pressure the passer they put a perfect ball over the top and if their attacker is stronger/faster than your defender it's basically a guaranteed shot, and if they get into the shot fake territory you are screwed lol.

I (think) I see it too, it's too fluid and you know you can't really feel it when you play it.

Question: Is this possible in PES2013

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Arial through balls by the CPU have an infuriating tendency to find their man because the game makes your defender momentarily stop or even change his direction just before you control him, which leaves the attacker through on goal. Starting to notice that a lot. I'm sure there will be some defensive tactic to prevent through balls but the lofted variety are a bit of a cheap move by the game to be honest. It tries them. All the time.

Most of the game is still on rails.
However, using super cancel on aerial through balls helps.
Not an ideal situation, but a very effective one that works all over the pitch.
Not much we can do about the CPU attack mindedness though. Hard to believe they attempt the over the top through ball when 50% of the time the attacker is offside.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

So guys, yesterday I had 2 more sessions with Demo 2 and I got more impressions.

Firstly, it's still way waaaaay better than PES 2012. I mean, the game is addictive again! Finally, after that 2012 fiasco. This is a good sign, I wanted to keep playing all night.

But now let's talk about the problems. There is a small dose of PES 2012 in this Demo 2 unfortunately. I was playing all matches on Top Player level. I must say that in Demo 1 defending was much better. Massive centre backs like Pepe were really "felt" by the opposition, there was a sense of collision and CPU attackers didn't find it too easy.
But on Demo 2, there's a lot of waltzing past my defenders again, and the player controlling the ball can do those quick stops and turns and wrong foot our defenders so easily. This can be done by the CPU with ANY player - be it Messi or Castolo.
The game went back to being a bit flat again, as someone mentioned earlier. Player individuality/skills/limitations aren't so noticeable.
The "ice skating" effect is back unfortunately. Our defenders feel so much more difficult to manouver than in Demo 1. They feel very slippery again. This reminds me of those horrible physics on PES 2012, where any Average Joe could do a quick stop with R1 and your defender would look like a truck on the loose and take 3 or 4 seconds to turn.

But in other aspects Demo 2 is more polished. Goal keeper's deflections now feel much more right now. Passing is better too.
Shots were toned down a bit too much. It's not disastrous, but sometimes I feel they could be more poweful, especially the ones hit with R2 (the ball goes too floaty for my liking).

To PC users who can't play Demo 2:
I can only imagine your frustration, but bear in mind that Konami will change a lot before the final release. I think previous experience shows us that those Demos don't reflect the final product - I think Konami just use the Demos to get user feedback before they can cock things up for the final version :P
I still want to see the final release before buying it. I'm not trusting Konami right now.

The bolded part as well. I forgot to mention it. That's a big difference for me.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I agree with those points, especially the part about attackers being able to waltz past challenges. I doubt anything wil be changed between the demo and final release now, but Konami patch the crap out the game every year so, frustratingly, what is released could still be changed months after release.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Demo 1 isnt better ffs.

Find it amazing how people can say this.

Keepers of demo 1 vs keepers of demo 2.

Player switching bug also.

Thanks for that but they don't deliver to Australia :(

Anyone have a GAME gift code or know where to get one? I'd like to get the Man Utd steelbook as it's exclusive to them.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

LOL thank heavens thought I was going mad.

Demo 2 for me too.

Its more naturally responsive rather than feeling artificially sluggish like demo 1, and there's more of a balance between being able to slow things down and being able to speed things up like real football. A bit faster than demo 1 but still slower than 2012.

At first after playing demo 2 and comparing to the first it felt more rushed and arcadey, after extended play it feels great.

Talk of dumbing down is exaggerated. The individuality is still there easily, I can still feel pronounced differences between players, passing, first touch ball control, the works. To really know dumbed down, minimized stats, lets play the FIFA 13 demo on tuesday, I'm willing to bet we won't feel the players' stats and differences in any way near the way we'll feel them in PES demo 2.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I have been playing the 2nd demo a bit more this week as the workload in school has been pretty light. Overall I find the 2nd demo to be much better than the first in most aspects. Shooting is far superior. The positioning of your player's body is taken into consideration much more than in the 1st demo. The nutmegs, run-arounds are more difficult to pull off which is a welcome addition. They were too easy in the 1st demo (probably to show off the feature). Manual passing is much more improved, as well as player switching.

However, as mentioned above, you don't feel the weight and muscle of certain players as much. Players like Pepe, and Rooney felt imposing in the 1st demo. Especially when you do the super cancel and body the opposition player clean out of the play.

A problem that is in both demos, and I really hope gets fixed is that players like Cristiano, Iniesta, or anyone who has some speed to them seem more capable of defending than the CPU's defenders. I get by defensive players only to find myself get chased down by an attacking player that no matter what I try, they defend me much better than other more defensive players. Also, when the CPU gets a shot off, and your goalkeeper makes a stop, your whole defense hesitates for a second and it leads to many second chance goals by the CPU. Same goes for when the CPU sends a through ball. When you switch to the appropriate defender, there is a slight hesitation that leads to a high amount of 1 v 1's.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Where'd you order from Zee?

BT Games here in South Africa. They actually very well priced on the premium edition around 32 quid and release date is 26th but I suspect they going to release it 21st as takealot - another local site - have the standard edition down for 21st at a measly 30 quid

Only problem is we receive the EU version which uses different option files atleast this was the case with 2012 and 2011. Seriously pisses me off that KONAMI do that

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I dont know why Konami release two demos. When making the game they probably have about 4 or 5 versions. If they let us play them all then I bet everyone would like a different version. They should just release 1 demo - the 95% final version.
I dont see the point of releasing demo 1 if its not going to be anywhere near the final product.
Look at EA - They release 1 demo - two weeks before the game is out. So you 99% know what you are going to get when you buy it. Konami should do the same.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Demo 2 here too! manual passing + semiassited player switching is vastly improved, I'm loving it.

They want feedback based on demo 1

Perfect quote. Play more that demo 2. It's more balanced between attack and defence, sense of weight and inertia of different players is still absolutely clear even if passing at 0 bars is a bit more assisted right now (maybe because of better players overall)

Passing at 0 bars as it was in demo 1 is the only thing i wish they take into final game.

For everyone struggling to defend against CPU in demo 2: try to use R1+x, sometimes R2+X. It's much more effective now. I know that some of you is against pressure but if it's useful it should be used.

Lucky you man. Here the steelbook version costs about $88 which is around 57 quid. Crazy eh. I always get my games from the UK. Much cheaper that way even if it arrives a week late.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Reading every post in this thread is madness, but if i read all the discussions about demo 1 and demo 2, i know what Konami's problem is (i said the same last year).
Konami are listening too much to the community.

Roughly half of the people prefer demo 1 and the other demo 2...what should a development do with this kind of feed-back?
