You misunderstand. Go back before these deals were signed.

My point is, why sign these exclusivity deals when they limit potential for higher brand exposure?

The Premier League can get its brand out to a much bigger audience around the world by selling the rights to both EA and Konami.

It's short-sightedness to the max.

any time you have a a question, follow the money. because 99% thats the motive. 99.99% for businesses.

Ea pay money for the liscenes, the rightholders obvously feel that money warrents exlcusivety over 'brand awareness'

Agreed witth jamezinho. Its a load of crap and EAs move to secure exclusive deals with EPL teams when they already have the EPL license just screams of greed and trying to monoplise the market. If EA gets the EPL the way they have the DFL its tickets for konami and we'll end up with another madden range of minimal improvements and 0 competition to push the genre forward.

I'll say it once and I'll say it agin.
If it wasn't for exclusivity EA would have died a quick death ages ago.

Because then these leagues (and teams) can charge more money, as there is only one spot to bid on. Which means the bidding prices skyrocket. Look at what these TV companies are paying now for live games! It's only going to get higher.

KONAMI may not have easy time renewing their contract. I hear EA is interested in it now... To bring it to FIFA series and bring realism to CM even more...

If KONAMI can't secure this, than omfg, this series is in deeper shit even more imo :(.

no one is holding up signs in favour of the companies nor the consumers here so i dont know why you are bringing this up

we are talking about business practice and why there are certain deals happening (specifically exlusivity)

therefore you clearly have no idea what we were talking about and chipped in anyway with 'i agree' and some nonsense unrelated garbage that you tried to tie in with our conversation, again making yourself look incredibly dumb.

Maybe, maybe not. personally i think these guys up top with all the numbers at hand are more in the know here than your opinion on speculation.

what is the direct benefit of lisencing PES? what will that equal in exposure compared to actual profit? what would that equal after you lose EA exclusivity money from EA ? what would konami pay for this liscense (theyre not just gonna give it for free) etc etc.

obviously companies can get these things wrong, but since we're talking about purely base don speculation here i dont think we can go into to much detail and so i'll end my part in this discussion now as there cant be more to be said (apart from this: zeemeister :PIG: )

Wasn't there that anti-competition law suit around the NFL games? I wonder if a similar case could be built for EA's monopolisation of football licences. Surprised it's never been tried.

Split the exclusivity fee down the middle between EA and Konami. Both will pay it, the Premier League gets double the exposure.

Win-win.

Sometimes you can over-complicate things. Anyway, you are like a dog with a bone and seem to be on an unfair witch-hunt of Zee, so I'll leave it there.

MLO was the most popular with 6-700 players. Lobbies you were looking at between 150-250 players. you could always get a quick match unless you specified zero assist and competitions ran every few hours which always filled the quota of 100 players.

I would like to ask the same question about console online numbers especially xbox360.

i class it as butting in when someone joins in a specific discussion and tries to partake but starts talking about completely unrelated topics yet still tries to claim he is on one side of the argument. just like i call it butting in if someone enters a PES feedback thread and starts giving Fifa feedback

but you didnt know what youre talking about, because you didnt have enough information. you tried to bring up specifics circumstances saying "why do they do this? makes no sense... this way is better" when in reality you have no idea what numbers they are dealing with or why they made these decisions, hence why i stopped that particular discussion because it couldnt go much further.

That's what I'm talking about: Demo2 is certainly more polished and has better CPU-AI and better playerswitching, but it lost something of demo1, where the individuality is more pronounced and passing was more difficult ie. ping pong-passing was not that easily possible on zerobar, and where gamespeed was more realistic.

Demo2 feels imho more automated and more arcade.

I don't want to ruffle anybody's feathers but I have to agree with you, demo 1 had a better feel to it, it wasn't perfect and needed tweaking but it felt like a fresh approach.

The passing on demo 2 on manual feels heavily assisted, hit a pass forward and it nearly always finds a teammate, it feels like a polished pes 2012, if they could find a balance between the 2 demos (which they won't) it would be a brave effort but the feedback seems to be mostly in favour of demo 2 so that's that I'm afraid.

I tend to agree, demo 2 is a lot more polished, I've not played it a massive amount but I haven't had any issues with keepers, player switching, any of the usual suspects I complain about really :P

But while those things have been fixed, I totally agree that players feel slightly less individual. I felt that demo 1 was a perfect blend of PES2011 and 2012, whereas despite the differences with demo 2 being very, very marginal, it's enough to tip the game towards being more similar to PES2012.

Also, I'm finding games to be a little too 'end to end', like both teams do nothing but counter-attack each other. I'm hoping that's down to the game being so short. Hopefully 10 or 15 minute matches will sort that out somewhat.

Still looking forward to it though, it's still a big improvement over PES2012, but I can't help but be a little disappointed over what it could have been.
