PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

the weird part is that, in passing and stuff, it feels ''okay'' but the shooting its still/ it feels light, also in the second demo i dont hear the sound of ball being touched etc. (what in my opinion adds to the experience of blasting a ball on to the goal or just a weak shot whirling towards the keeper.or is this something i`m imagining(soundpart) ?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I think passing lacks any kind of error rate... try passing direct passes with shit players one to each other in PES 2013, it'll work fine, whereas in PES 5 (for example) after a few passes they would go astray.

I'm not talking about assistance levels here (using 1 bar now), but about players making errors depending on stats.

I feel passing is too easy (not really too fast) and therefore it's VERY easy to get out of the pressure from the attackers which results in too much 'box-to-box' gameplay for my favour.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

i did find that towards the end of a match if a player would get exausted that both passing and shooting becomes effected, but maybe longer matches (demo 2) would give a better view on all this

Yeah, I do agree, remaining stamina seems to have a bigger influence than stats (demo 1), I think the whole 'short pass accuracy' and 'long pass accuracy' seems to have an impact mostly on wether the CPU is able to pick out complicated passes with certain players or not.

If at all, when you are in control of a player, you will only notice a drop in accuracy with lower stamina and maybe sometimes worse players will overhit passes, but the direction is almost always inch perfect.

Long passing is even worse than short passing, basically i was able to hit 10+ passes from one side to the other with any random team with all of them hitting the targetman perfectly.

Which is why you switch to 0 assist right?

Demo2 is miles ahead in terms of accuracy and balance of stats and manual as well as consistent.

Ball weight feels great to me not so much the GK throws and I need to practice my longballs and understand them better. Thank heavens its something you have to learn on 0 assist except for crossing of course which appears more assisted

Well, manual in demo1 was somehow broken (all passes being much slower than other modes, and no, i'm not too stupid to use it :) ), but basically what i want is rather being able to see the difference between players more than now.

ps i really hope some of this was fixed in demo 2, too bad i'm unable to try it myself..

also are the fullbacks still as stupid as in demo1, always leaving lots of space due to coming inside at the first chance?

How does one go about getting a tin with a pre-order? No mention of tins on amazon etc.

Thanks in advance

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

i dont get this forum at times, you get comments like "brillant" in this thread and calling FIFA a trick fest yet the I have never seen a more ridiculous amount of tricks than the goal on 1.04 in that video and certainly never in all my time in playing fifa

edit..unless the brilliant and the video was being sarcastic and it went over my head, in which case i appologise

Personally I don't like the weight of the ball in 2013. It doesn't feel right.

Did you think that in the first demo Lami, or was it the second that formed that opinion? It thought the sense of weight in both ball and players was much improved in the first, but I've not had a chance to play the second so I'd be disappointed if it's true.

I prefer the 1st demo. Maybe it's just me though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I love demo1, the ball looks alive. Didn't try demo2 though.
I really hope the retail ver don't have a light ball

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

two weeks and we have the retail, still no pc demo, not even a small announcement
what a shame

over one month time gap between the two pc demos

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

isn't it the same for fifa though? we should be thankful to have the possibility to play it, even if it is just demo 1.

Ehem what?

YouTube - FIFA 11 - "Warfare II" Online Goals Compilation

Here is one...

YouTube - Fifa 12 - Online Skills and Goals Compilation "All i know"

Here is 2nd...

If you didn't see much skills in FIFA, you haven't searched well enough ;p.

The skill-fest = FIFA. Take a note in above vids on one more thing, 2-3 passes and you're behind enemy defense line. Massive bull-shit. Like there is no real purpose of midfield play. LOL.

Pulling off some crazy tricks on PES takes more than timing alone... And some of them are fecking easy to do. Needs balance here. ;)

Not to say that his goals compilation is bad and I believe this year there will be more of those, sadly (trick-whores ruin both games imo) :(.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I have to admit, although I initially liked demo 2 more than 1, it feels like things have been smoothed out a bit to much, leaving the players being less distinguishable from each other. Demo 1 felt more "fresh" somehow.

Knowing Konami the final game will be different so I'm not all that bothered until I can test the full product.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Don't start this whole Fifa vs PES thing again, it's so god damn boring.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

 FIFA is fun arcade-fantasy football that every kid want to play . All know that !
the only reason which you want to playing and and buy FIFA , if your real football fan and you have high football I.Q. is because Clubs mode. That why 90 % of all my old PES fans play FIFA, not PES .

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I think there is a potentially dangerous and unfortunate precedent to be set here in that the PC (and console) modding scene could be turned on its head if companies take exception to their name and products being used without their consent. Could this have an affect on PES if, say, the Premier League or Bundesliga threaten PES modders with legal action? EA pays a lot a money for these two licences yet PES fans can get a similar level of authenticity for free (via patches and OF's).
In 2006 the DFL sent cease and desist declarations to several fan sites that had been patching the German football manager "Anstoss". Those sites obviously immediately removed the files but I don't think EA would stand a chance in court since they never bothered to try that again with PES patching sites.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

come to think of it didnt something similar happen on pesfan ?? option files were banned for a while wernt they ? i cant remember properly..
Still forbidden apparently, possibly to prevent a repeat/further action. A mate of mine used to post on PESFan and he reckons it was due to people selling save files or rip copies of the game with PESFan OF files, which alerted the attention of the Premier League legal boffins.

But like everything else, whenever there's a copyright infringement and the holder takes action against someone, others spawn up in retaliation. Like a never ending battle.

That must have been about the same time the DFL took action against Konami, as the (unofficial) Bundesliga was never seen again in PES after PES5. I guess the time and resources required to monitor and chase the modding community is not worthwhile for the DFL and/or EA, seeing as so many Bundesliga mods can simply be leaked out to the community "unofficially". Same applies to the Premier League. Better to threaten Konami directly.

It's pathetic really. Don't these leagues see that they can get a massive amount of extra brand exposure by allowing Konami access to their 'product'? Even better, the modders give their leagues free exposure.

You make it sound so black and white, between 08-10 FIFA was the better simulation in many people's view, it's only recently they have gone off the rails into arcade land.

theres a lot more to it than that

EA having exclusive liscense to certain leagues and sponsors and then another game just having them anyway, is one scenario.
