PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Maybe they're pushing for a closer release date and still in progress until confirmed. Hopefully that's the case. We'll know today for sure.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I'm far from an expert these days (hardly have the time to play it). Must say that the gameplay in the second (and the first) demo feels good.
I honestly don't understand what all the fuss about the ML is about.
There are a few easy solutions: make the ML more customizable (this, in general is Konami's biggest mistake, why for example no gameplay sliders like NBA2K orFIFA). Another solution would be that you can transfer players in the season mode (lately i play that one more than ML).

The problem with the boots (if it is a problem, i'm not convinced) can be helped very simple and this in different ways. I don't understand why people will not buy the game for that reason.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

More thank likely I will play a BAL mode first. I like that because you can play in more than 1 different league and you can play internationals. Will be good to work your way into the national side just in time for the World Cup tournament Brazil 2014 :)

Even playing some standalone leagues would be good, although I'd probably just play the Spanish league now it's fully licenced and has all the stadiums and the Italian league.

Offline ML will be hard to fully gauge until we all play it but I'd be happy with the other couple of modes if MLO was also good this year like it was in 2011. For one, the whole system last year got hard to manage I found. Half the time I had only 2 subs because I couldn't afford player salaries or couldn't work out all the different contract expiry dates lol.

Sometimes you just want to get on and play without needing to micro manager everything!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Think its mainly the PC players gerd. They a bit sour about not getting the second demo.
I also find it worrying that such a bloody good game is going to fail due to poor PR more than anything else. I said it a few times and I'll say it again. This is the best PES so far from a gameplay perspective. Of course you need months to guage a game properly but the initial feel with demo 2 is konami have struck gold.

Now they must not bugger it up with poor decisions that will affect online balance and I'll be a happy camper.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I'm actually looking forward to the online features they have added. You could see which of your community members were online and ask them for a game without having to log into the community and you could pair up with players in your city or nearby city.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I played 2nd Demo for PS3 yesterday for the first time. It took me 7 games on Top-Player to win a match - all 6 games before ended up 1:1 :D
I like it very much, but for me the CPU offensive is very limited.
creates only slow numbers of chances, but nearly every chance is a goal.
And the 2nd thing which annoys me a little bit: almost every attack will be played with a chipped throughball - even if passing on the ground would make much more sense...
Besides this i like the demo very much hoping the final game will be the same :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

The biggest Bulgarian game selling site says the game will release on 28-09-2012 .

That what Konami will announced tomorrow

and amazon.de, a a little bit bigger website, has it set to the 20th. what now? :CONFUSE:

nobody knows what konami will announce today.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Btw, Winning Eleven's demo 2 is out on the Japanese PSN if anyone's interested.

It has English language too :)

I wonder if that's an indication of the final ver having english, too, 'cause that was omitted from last year.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Seems like die Second Winning Eleven 2013 Demo is out on jap. psn store! Did anyone check this? Any changes?
I'll download it myself later to check...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Played some more of Demo 2 yesterday with Real Madrid against Manchester Utd. Player ID works very well for Cristiano Ronaldo, yes. But for the others I didn't see a big difference. Jury is still out for me.

Lots of new shot animations are in there. The CPU scored an odd goal from a cross. Valencia scored it with an overhead karate kick - it's not the Ibrahimovic one, it was with the sole of his foot, he looked like a Kung Fu master with the agility of a cheetah or something :D
A header would do, but I thought it was amusing.

Now even playing on Top Player I seem to create a lot more 1-on-1 chances. Means that the passing got much better.
But if I'm patient enough, I can keep passing all day long. Hence the difference in possession we tend to see in our favor.

Another thing I dont' get: this stupid system of showing player attributes grouped by category and grading from A to E - this has never helped me in any way. What's worse, it seemed misleading. I checked Messi, he has Top Speed 82 or something. He's has a grade "A" for Speed. Alexis Sanches has 86 for Top Speed, but he is a grade "B" for Speed. Go figure!

They should just bring back the hexagons from the old days, they were much better to compare players.

It's not just speed that counts, you also have dribble speed and explosiveness.

But I agree with you though, I don't like this system. I still prefer the simpler old one.

And is it me or is every player's running animation like Ronaldo's?

Is the Grading not to do with the ball, for example, Messi is an A for speed with the ball, whereas Sanchez is a B, although he is faster sprint wise?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

From what I see most of you say pes2011 was the best pes yet.

Installed this again this morning and liking it.
Great soundtrack, not that important but it's the first thing you see/hear when you are in the menu screen, so it's instantly noticeable.
Much better tactics system. Set strategies for different times of the match and whether winning losing or drawing. Strategies have a very noticeable effect and teams can be set up to play long ball or passing football amongst other things.
AI keeps hold of the ball better (depending on tactics) leading to more even possession stats.
A penalty system that requires a little bit of user skill. Shooting wide or too high is down to the user rather than random.
Master League where you can individually train players including skill card training. Rightly this costs a lot and takes time. No player moaning, no boot issues.
Stats like acceleration and shot technique are still in. So are defender cards like marking and keeper cards like one-on-one stopper. Never understood why any of those things were taken out in 12 and 13.
Bad technical players have bad touches and poor turning circles

Only played 2 games so far but shooting seems ok and haven't noticed any major negatives yet, that will probably come with more game time.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

This rating ist totally crap - why don't they bring back the old and simple stat table? this solution is absolutely bad - all stat at once are also much ore easy to compare - too much switching and keeping figures in mind for comparrison, if you ask me.

From what I see most of you say pes2011 was the best pes yet.

No way... :D
If PES 2013 will be the same as the demo, it will be definetly the best next-gen PES.
By now all next gen versions are not that good compared to the old ps2 versions!!!
PES 2013 could be the first one to come back into line according to a higher quality gameplay.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

After playing PES 12 and then the PES 13 Demo 2, from a defensive perspective, the part I'm loving the most is the removal of the 'X' Pressure button. It so blatant and overpowering in PES 12, it basically allows players to use very little skill when trying to bully their way to possession.

They have flipped this pressure on the head this year, by having 'X' as a defensive holding system. Exactly the opposite to how it's always been used. I really like this, as wel as the new defensive mechanics that are shown as part of the Training Challenges. So much more skill is now required in this area, just as it should be.

Loving the new R2 First Touch as well, get this wrongly timed and you'll take a terrible touch with lesser players. I love the new Sombrero Trap as well, it's not a hard to technique in real-life, and I'm glad they have introduced this option to the game.

People complain about the removal of certain Player Cards, but I've seen so many new ones in these Demo's to make me believe that this will be by far the highest level of player individuality we have ever seen yet. And that's without even venturing into the Player I.D.

I agree that pes 2011 is the best next gen till now, till pes 2013 demo2

if they don't change the game with a patch or with retail code

Don't agree. For me Pes 2013 second demo is better than Pes 2011. More fluid, more polished, more advance in game play. Not much better but better no doubt.

there is a misunderstanding
i mean, for me pes 2013 demo 2 is better than pes 2011 ;)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I'm think 2013 will technically the better game, but I suspect it won't match the fun I had playing 2011 - which I reckon might be due to the fact it felt like a fresh take on PES, whereas 2012/2013 are just an evolution of 2011.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yes, I understand that other factors count in this, but I think Speed should be the main attribute to determine this, because it seems to be an overriding attribute (some player with a poor Dribbling Speed and +90 for Top Speed will not necessarily be slow carrying the ball).
I was actually looking for other stats that influence this and couldn't find Agility?? Messi had 99 for Agility, I wonder where that went to?

Anyways, I think Alexis Sanchez is one of the fastest footballers nowadays and if he's not an A for Speed I don't know who is! :P

This grading illustration is annoying to compare as well indeed. I'd much rather have the old Hexagon graphics overlapping for a visual comparison of players' attributes, as well as the arrows pointing up or down for each individual attribute (I don't even know if it's there anymore?)
Anyway, I almost didn't play PES 2012, so some things were already there in 2012 and strike me as new things :D

@Lami: I don't agree about Ronaldo's run. That animation looks to be pretty much his own, and it's very characteristic the way he stretches his back while sprinting (especially off the ball).
I pulled of some other moves with Kaka, Benzema and Ozil, and they seemed a bit generic. I still don't know what to make of Player ID (apart from the C. Ronaldo, who's the cover star of the game).

There's a lot of things that don't look right. Some times Rio Ferdinand was matching Ronaldo on speed! He was a demon yesterday, I don't know if he had consecutive red arrows, but it definitely was over the top.

I agree with those that say 2011 is the best so far. It really is, it was when the game finally matured in this generation. When 2012 let me down, I went back and grabbed a Platinum copy for £12 and it has been my football game of choice (until the Demos were released).
If somehow Konami screws 2013 up, I'd be going back to 2011 no doubt!

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yeah PES 2011 was the last one I played properly, after exciting demo's I quickly didn't take a liking to 2012, I think 2013 has found a good medium, not sure regarding Demo 2 but 1 had me hooked a little.
