Who cares? I've played demo 1 and demo 2 side-by-side under the same circumstances and imho demo 1 clearly wins.

Probably people who'd like to make their own mind up.

Besides the 5 minute games aren't the same as 10-15 minute games that are possible on demo 1 (PC)

The more I play demo 2 the more I like it. Just played PES 2012 and it's a lot more hectic. Quicker paced and the AI even from your own team is chasing people around all the time. Seems more sensible positionally and pressure wise on PES 2013. Also the step on dribbling is a godsend. Hopefully some good times ahead with the retail version!

Not sure, probably not.

Last year we could download digital version from gamesplanet.com, but as I type this, they still haven't even listed PES 2013

Agreed, the PC-demo2 should be released so that everyone can form his/her opinion, but after reading so many people praising demo 2, I was very excited when it finally became available for silver-users (xbox360).

But I was disappointed in seeing demo2 go more in the direction of PES 2012. In order to make sure that my memory didn't play me some tricks I threw in PES 2012 as well as setting up my mac-mini with demo1 on it in the living-room to compare them all side-to-side using the same controller, same TV, same teams, 5 mins...

And it was indeed so that PES 2012 and demo2 were somewhat similar while demo1 seemed different, fresh, more free and more realistic.

Konami improved certain things like the CPU-buildup (a little) or the playerswitching or atmosphere, but went back on other aspects like gamepace, first-touch-control, inertia, player-weight...

And regarding the one aspect I really wanted to see a change, cheating... it's as active as it ever was:

- Using Ronaldo's pace I was able to leave a defender behind, I thought great, defenders can be wrong-footed and there seems to be no catch-up-bug anymore. It was on the right side of the goal-area and I reached the cornerline, turned left and I saw in the middle Benzema free, I made a pass (playing with zero-bar) in his direction. The cursor went on him and just when I wanted to shoot one-touch-style with Benzema, the cursor went away from him to someone on the same line but six meters more to the left and at least two defenders were in between. And Benzema went backwards from the ball.

- When I made a goal, suddenly control for my defenders gets worse, cb's leaving their positions joining the full backs, allowing the CPU easy throughball-situations, and loose balls returning to the CPU, crazy shit happening with the goalkeeper not able to hold the ball in his hand and parrying into the feet of the opponent's strikers or ball reflecting from the goalpost and from my defenders until it reaches the net.

- Referrees becoming blind to brutal fouls by the CPU.

I can only hope the PC-modders can resurrect the great feeling (gamepace, playerweight, first-touch-control, inertia...) of demo1 and combine it with the improvements of demo2 (playerswitching, atmosphere) and get rid of the cheating.

Pre-ordered the PC edition off ShopTo. £18 is extremely reasonable really, will get my moneys worth even if they do persist with this boot nonsense.

That's my thinking. If I had to pay £35+ for the console version, and I was an avid ML fan, I would have to think twice.

Confirmed; Seabass is the end boss of ML in a pair of flourescent pink turbo-boots. Defeat him and rockets emerge from your players boots, propelling them into the atmosphere. PES 2014's ML will be set in space.

Not surprised to hear that! PES 2012 is massive pile of shit :LOL:
That game was all over the place really, our AI team mates running like headless chicken and bumping into each other. No to mention the ineffective defense/tackling mechanism.

Demos 1 and 2 of PES 2013 already look miles away better, a much more accomplished and well put together game.

I still don't know what Konami were thinking when they released 2012 like that. The stinker of the decade! :P

Must admit I've had this problem with my defenders and seen it happen to the CPU also. Did have a couple incidents recorded, but I lost them in a hard drive crash.

Also my Centre Midfielders & Defensive Midfielders have a very annoying habit of joining the back line when it is entirely unnecessary, I love the fact they'll cover for a rogue defender, but when I've already got a solid line and want to bring out my midfielder to meet the attacker, he will leave a gaping hole. Not sure if it's just me experiencing this?

Also while I'm "moaning", I've noticed a problem where the CPU will attack to a point and I'll thwart them until their player will just stop dead on the ball, not shielding it or anything, I'll just wander up and steal it. Could be fixed in Demo 2, but I wouldn't know.

one of the biggest faults of the demo

i tried to stop this happening by instead of selecting my full back, i would select my midfielder and track back to have me and the AI full back double up... what do you know, i track back with the midfielder and my full back pulls into the CB position!! wtf?!

again, player instructions would stop most of this automatic crappy stuff where AI just guesses what you want

I'm seeing plenty of FBs, CBs and DMs out of position the more I play both demo1 and demo2.

It's better if I'm in control of the last defender because I can retreat and hold off to make the tackle and I often succeed.

The most annoying situation during defending is when I'm in control of the CM, my CBs are retreating to their lines(dumb AI with no awareness) then BAM, throughball --> my CB lockups to allow a free 1-1 chance.

Really scripting at its best.

Do you use manual offside trap? Or change cursor to CB to run backwards thus nulling offside, instead of putting him offside? You will see the cpu give more bad passes instead of always giving that 'supposed killer' pass. Those little things might help. But i agree that it's somewhat dodgy at times.
Konami said that they're still working on improving the GK and defensive line form and awareness etc.

Btw does anyone remember how the CPU AI played in Pes2009? If this game only had that buildup play by the AI for the CPU combined with current AI. Then wooooooooow

as i use to play with 2 CBs most of the time i tend to switch to the defender which is deeper at the moment so i can contain attacks better (while trying to block through balls) rather than chasing attackers..

playing MLO against loads of Messis, Ronaldos, Eto'os and Arshavins have trained me pretty well for effectively defending, and all of this previous training is paying off in 2013 :)

i'll miss my 2011 MLO team, i finally managed to get a powerful team.

i cancel the pre-ordered for PC version yesterday..

I will test the full game and if its better from demo 1 PC i will buy it at next September...

I'm in Sweden so games are more expensive here. And after the initial shock of the ML, I realized that the gameplay hasn't been this good in a long time. And if that means having to deal with magic boots and black boots all over the place, then so be it. Pre-ordered for PS3 today as soon as the release date was announced.

I would literally kill to have it on the same day as FIFA so that I can don my PES 2012 T-shirt and maybe make some new friends in the Loooooong qeues FIFA brings.
