PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Be it FIFA or PES, I have never found 360 dribbling/movement to be that much of a "game changer". Not to say it isn't welcome, but it was more a natural progression than super-duper innovation. FIFA10 and all the games that since followed have made me appreciate just how good FIFA09 was.

I actually still play Fifa 08 to this day. Had a few games a few hours ago. First touch on it feels so much better than the latest versions.

Agreed. 360 dribbling was massively overplayed and makes a negligible difference to gameplay over 16 direction movement.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I still play fixs on PES2012 and the game feels unbelievably limited. Its amazing that both games are based on the same core engine but play so differently.
Dynamic 1-2 deft touch, flick ups, shooting and differential lobbed passing they all add up to a great change in the game when you play it. If you played PES 2012 enough it smacks you in the face within minutes.

As for the shooting-its a case of different strokes. I didn't enjoy demo1 shooting- it felt a bit of a pisstake. The demos 2 version is damn good the knuckle shot is cool and the low shot with the triangle is just as good. Now if konami can just fix up the goal keeper throws. It needs to be a tad faster but I am sure they are afraid it will lead to too many quick counters.some Keepers should have a quick throw ability though as its very much part of their stats.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

and the low shot with the triangle is just as good.

i think thats terrible. it needs far too precise timing... why cant it just be shoot+triangle equals low shot, whyd oes it have to be so exact with the timing ?

youre better off using manual through pass or normal pass it into the net

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

They must have started working on PES 2014 when PES 2012 was released. That would make most sense to me.

But is this the case here, we don't know :D.

My guess as well. FOX Engine seems to be in a fairly advanced state by now, obviously they will keep adding to it and building the engine more and more, but I don't think it's far fetched to think that a team in Konami has been working on PES 2014 for a big while.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I will keep calm about FOX ENGINE demonstration on MG GZ.

We have the engine. But one thing is how Kojima Team make profit of it (a genius with any engine since MSX, PS1, PS2 and PS3) and another is how Pes team will do with FE in his hands.

Rebember two artist can have the same materials but they can make a very differents results. Just remember Ecco Homo :P

Calm before anything and see to believe. For now focused on 2013

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

The Final Fantasy engine is above ALL these engines showed ATM, including the new MGS video, wich still is very impressive when we take into account that this MGS is target to the current gens.

I'd say that the MGS Ground Zeroes is a "nextgen READY" game (PC version) just as the Watching Dogs game, both are very impressive compared to what we have today (remember that this MGS have that graphic quality being an OPEN WORLD game).

But those "nextgen ready" games (like MGSGroun Zeroes on PC and Watching Dogs) are till FAR from what will be TRUE NEXTGEN. Only the Final Fantasy Engine is the one that is FULLY target to the next consoles and PC (so it will not hold PC graphics back like the console games do today).

The FOX Engine with this MGS will be very well optmized to the current consoles and the PC version will probably look like a "nextgen ready" game as I said, but it's just that, a TRANSITION between this and the next gen. But wait when Konami announce a game with Fox Engine exclusevely target to the nextgen game (MGS5 anyone ?).

The Final Fantasy video ALREADY shows what we can expect from the nextgen, hence why it looks much better than this video. Fox Engine will only start to show it's real potential with a game exclusevely target to nextgen consoles (an PC), and this will be MGS5.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

PES 2011 was not a brand new engine. It was a heavily modified version of the engine that they have been using for a long time now.
A brand new engine implies that they started from scratch, they did not. They re-use a lot of stuff and changed a few others.

The developers themselves said PES 2008-2010 used the modified PS2 engine, and from 2011 onwards they used a new one. It is not the same as the previous versions by merely being modified, it is new and built from the ground up for the current gen consoles; with a completely reworked animation system, physics, AI and graphics. Apparently hadn't they been working on it for two years by the time it was released? Just because it isn't as spectacular as FIFA doesn't change the fact that it was a proprietary engine built for 360 and PS3 to see them through until the next engine.

EA of course started earlier and had theirs in place from 2007+, hence why in tech terms and animations they were able to steal a march on Konami who were still fiddling about with the transition from last-gen to current-gen.

The Final Fantasy video might very well be in real time but it would be somewhat naive to think that is what next-gen will look like. Once things like AI and overall "game stuff" is applied, those visuals will take a considerable knock.

What impresses me about the new MGS footage is that there is a game present and that it isn't too perfect. The end result is something that looks believable in current-gen videogame terms. There is just enough imperfection on show to suggest that it could well be possible on current systems, though admittedly I would be amazed if the end product looks as good as is currently being shown. It's a very grounded showcase.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Really? After first impressions, I am now unimpressed (talking about Agni here). Not that it looks bad, but if that's what next-gen consoles can pull out... Hello we can do it on PCs at the very moment :P. Plus Japanese people do know how to sell trailers/game tech videos well. Take a look at Final Fantasy movies or watch their game trailers in general.

The only thing which still is unknown is, whether or not, next-gen consoles will allow dynamic terrain and graphics generation in real-time. If the answer is yes, my jaw will have to be reassembled from the ground.

For now keeping tabs on few interesting engines floating around.

Next Gens to come next year I hear? If so we shall see what they have to offer v. v. soon.

I find it hard to believe that they built a new engine in 2011, that doesn't even have proper physics and foot planting, and then use someone else's engine for 2014. But that's just me.
PR is PR. When your sales are down the drain and your fanbase is getting extremely pissed off at you, you do what you need to do in order to damage control.

They absolutely needed to re-build stuff in the old engine for the 360 dribbling, but I don't believe they created a new engine in 2011. They can say whatever they want to.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

They didn't. Even Seabass said that they just put new animations and control into current engine they had.

It's not new engine despite what Adam, PesFan and WENB tried to sell ;).

None of those folks tried to sell anything of the sort. Stop being such a drama queen/conspiracy theorist. It's just videogames, man.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

wait a minute, isn't Pes a vodeogame? :CONFUSE:

thats what they want you to think

Matty is right. Nothing in life is random and Adam involvement serves Konami purposes. Videogames are a big big industry nowadays and its a multibillion industry. People are so naive sometimes. Adam is like what joseph gebbels was for the nazi's but for Konami.

Just ask yourselves ,would you be able to praise like that a game like PES in the state that is in the recent years?. And yet he praise the game every year. Would you really believe that these companies (including EA) aren't really capable of producing a very good game of football (i am not saying perfect) without major problems. Simple its not on their interest to do that for many many reasons.

This. It's basically just viral marketing, all the big games companies do it nowadays. They just pay "community leaders" to promote the game and almost all of them sell out. EA did the same thing with the FSB team

I don't know what this has to do with Wenb and Adam.
He is just a link between Konami and customers just like Murphy is.
Big websites like IGN, Eurogamer, Gamespot, etc are far more influential than Wenb.
Anyway i think that EA and Konami don't want to improve too much in just one year otherwise they will have nothing new to sell in the next year game, that is obvious.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

The best I opinion yet:

Whether people conceive ML as being fantasy or not, as fans of realism we should be pushing Konami down a more authentic route with ML. My fear is, with this implementation, if fans are OK with it, then it will be taken further and further into the realms of fantasy the following year.

This reaction to ML, as I've said countless times, isn't to change PES 2013. I've admitted I see the impact of the boots and stat boosting an integral part of the workings in ML this year. My concern comes from the fact I want PES ML to simulate the real world, and a blasé reaction could be detrimental in the years ahead.

And this should end this whole ML debate ;).

Now where is the 2nd PC DEMO?!?!?!?!?!?!
