Exactly like that. They released the games on both generations. The PS1 still had PES games up until PES 2. What happens is that the previous generation gets a very small team to make database changes to the games and make cosmetic changes to kits and balls. They mess around with gameplay balance sometimes and add a few new things, but the rest remains the same. The rest of the team moves on to the next-gen. It's not a coincidence that PES 2013 doesn't look very different from 2012 except for animation.

thats good to hear then! quite shocking (not in a bad way or anything) that konami will still be releasing pes 2013 on PS2! i wonder next year if pes14 will be on ps2, ps3 and ps4 lol

I'm playing the Euro version, it's basically the same but yeah the ball feels slightly lighter. Tackling doesn't seem to be as effective either.

Tried it and Im still not impressed. Its better than demo 1 but wheres the error? I put the 2 Man U keepers up front to test it,theyboth have shot accuracy of 45 and hit every shot exactly where I was pointing. They both got multiple shots on target from 30 odd yards and in the box they were both deadly accurate, maybe they had Falcoa`s boots on :P.

Now they can't blame the engine anymore! My expectations for FOX engine were high, and rightfully so. It seems it's going to deliver bigtime!

Wow, fox engine is bloody brilliant. The best part is that the game was played on the playstation 3. That kind of quality on current gen hardware, is unreal. Looks like according to an article, fox engine will also power other type of games like silent hill, etc. Great move by konami, looks like there wouldn't be any problems in tech anymore in pes. Pes 2014 will most likely be played on the ps3.

Edit: my mistake, the game was run on the pc with current gen specs as corrected by lami and deluxe

The MGS video is more than impressive but a great tec (fox engine) needs to be used by people who have a clear idea of what they wanna do.I do trust PES' devellopers to make their game as realistic as possible so I'm not feeling anything in terms of PES2014 getting the fox engine.
It means fuck all to me if the same people will take the key decisions of PES when it comes to animations,gfx and gameplay

where did you see PS3 specs? i only found this:
"Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes demo was truly amazing, running on a PC at current-gen specs. Wow."

a current-gen PC is MUCH faster than a PS3 which probably means we will only see it on the next generation of consoles.

Every thing was perfect but the skin sometimes looked plastic. If pes is anything close to this and editing is improved Ea would be scared

This.

There is no way a PS3 can deliver that graphical quality. A current PC can.

Looks like a job for the PS4.

There is no way that is going to run on current gen consoles full throttle.

I suspect that it will be released with the next generation which could be around 2014. We will probably hear from Konami that it is too hectic to run on the current gen just for a few ooh aah nerd orgasms

Fox engine will developed a games for the current and the Next gen consoles . PES will not use Fox, will be powered by Fox, to represents some emotional moments in football . What what say week before the new PES producer .

What you see in that MGS video is not impressive for me in any way.

Good engine, but CryEngine was delivering the same already when Crysis was released (look at tech demos of CryEngine 1 and 2).

For anyone interested that is. However, truth be told, it requires super duper high end rig to run at full details.

The good thing about FOX though is it can run on pretty old specs and still maintain sensible frame rates. That is something UE 3 offered too ;).

Btw will this new MGS be released on PC market or not (played on PC does mean sh*t actually :()?

Excited about prospects it could give to PES team though. Hopefully they don't screw up ;).

Read it will be multiplatform and released on current-gen consoles (PS3, Xbox 360 and probably PC).

Dude , who care about UE or Cry engine if we have that YouTube - METAL GEAR SOLID GROUND ZEROES in PES series ?? Yeah ,EA maybe will have superior engine , but i don't care if we have that graphics ,animations and fantastic gameplay + deep and huge online mode...
In the years, all was cry " PES engine is bad , limited " ,but in some parts, the game is sill better that FIFA... Just imagined if we have so good engine, Konami and co what can do with football franchise ?
Тhat why we all so excited... current gen PES is always look purely technologically backward compared to other games, now it can be changed!

We will have bits and pieces of that engine in Pro Evo.

We don't really know what PES team will do with it yet. Hold your horses for now :D.

That's not to say I am not excited about perspectives it brings.

I won't discuss FIFA in PES thread. You want information on FIFA 14 already? (not to say, some people doesn't have those ^^).

Now we all should do a prayer so PES team doesn't screw it up like with PES 2008 <lol>.

But to answer your question above too, about why bring UE to this? Because UE is superb and you can make absolutely ANY game with it.

Football game? Someone should try doing it! (Tony Hawk HD is running on UE 3 btw).

Nevertheless if we go back to FOX Engine and that presentation above, it looks amazing, considering it's running on current-gen specs O_O.

Sweet. Can't wait to see it running with ALL stuff turned on! Should be a firecracker in the pants! :D

Can't get enough of demo1 just now. Demo2 just ain't doing it for me. Bad sign for the full release imo
