At this point the opinions on this whole thing (not only boots, but read my post above, Personal Training stuff) is very bad. Lots of people are UNHAPPY about this. Moreover if this isn't stopped this year, it will continue even in new Pro Evo 2014 (yep, the one built on FOX Engine).

So it's not like we are whining because of 1 year, we are speaking about game changing into crap over next years!!

Btw nice response to someone who said KONAMI might get it right next year:

Last year we were here saying the same thing about gameplay/ shooting/ excetera...
Let's buy the game this year cause they'll get back on track next year.
Sad truth is, every year they "nail" something (AI in 2012, gameplay in 2013) just to **** up another important element of the game in some stupid way.
Next year they'll back on track. I used to think the same, and this year really thoght they would nail everything. Instead, they managed to **** up the most played game mode.

Now, it's not overreacting. It's just that the amazing gameplay is of use only if you have something to play. For the ones who play almost only ML, it's now pointless to play the game. What do i do? Training? And then? That's just a question. I don't like BAL. I don't play online. I like ML, that's what i play. I like a simulative master league the way it used to be. I don't like fantasy RPG master league, so i don't have any other game mode to play in PES. What is left (training and friendly matches, not much more than this) is not enough to say "buy the game".

This is not overreacting, this is the sad truth for many ML players.
It's rude, instead, to jump in and call stupid what people think about the game. If it's ok for you to play fantasy ML, or if you can live without ML and play other game modes, it's good for you. Nobody called you stupid for that. So don't be childish and rude calling "stupid" the ones who play PES for ML alone and are left with nothing decent to play.

Also, about the "next time they will nail it", let me say this: if Konami really think that a football simulation should be done through a RPG structure, with items, bonuses and slots, with magic boots that give stat bonuses to a player, then may be they should make RPG games and not football simulations.

As I understand, and he has explained it clearly in the thread, at the start of ML all the teams start off with black boots. Just like how you acquire boots at the start of the season, so do they.

As games go by you'll start to see players on the opposition wearing different boots, but first season gone he's not seen a team wearing official branded boots - just some with fake Konami boots.

That is the kind of overreaction i was talking before.
Roll on pes 2013 release so everyone will complain about the real problems of the game.

I must agree ! All buy FIFA for online modes like Clubs and UT and buy PES for offline modes like ML and offline play with the friends,but now, when They will screw up ML... its hard to say , why regular users, gamers will buy PES . We will, we fanboys will buy PES no matter what shet will be become , but .. Konami cant leave only from owner money .
It seems that PES 2014 will be decisive for the future of the entire series! If there Konami screwed up without online 11vs11 and offline , deep manager modes, PES will die 100%

How difficult can this Master League thing be? It must be very difficult because all Konami would need to do to make it enjoyable is to make it like real football. I remember ten years ago (when I still played PES) thinking the game was good but just hoping they would make Master League more along the lines of Football Manager (Championship Manager then). It doesn't have to be as complex as Football Manager, but just make it feel like I'm managing a real team with real players and real player development. I don't want to see stat boosts from clothing items. I want to see stat boosts because the player has had time in the first team.

Sucks. I enjoyed the gameplay in the demo as well. :(

Devastated by this news, I put more hours into pes 2012 offline ML than ever before and was looking forward to doing the same with 2013. I play solely offline so this is worrying.

I can cope with flaws etc but sheer illogical awful design choices such as this just baffle me. Its almost like konami hit self destruct mode and look for ways to screw up the game somehow. Last year I could cope with irritating cut scenes but this boot bollocks sounds very intrusive.

I loved pes 2012 was more than happy with the direction this game was taking, however this has made me doubt konami's decision making not just for 2013 but for the future.

I think the most annoying thing is the fact konami waste time on bullshit nobody wanted yet dont bother with other subtle improvements such as scheduling etc. Its strange how a company can understand the subtleties of football so well but then make a dreadful decision like this.

Hm you believe what you want. It's hardly overreacting.

I saw one title die because of such stupid ideas being implemented.

It was also EA title mind you. Went under the NBA name.

Yep, PES might end the same. Game no-one will even look at having got better/more polished on offer (2k Sports NBA 2k series took over).

It's the order of priority here:

-why they implement such stupid thing when stamina system is broken?
-why not remove AI cheating, yet destroy almost perfectly working Master League?

They don't have time to implement important stuff, yet they waste time on features no-one asked about? Not coming from Europe/USA at least? Makes no sense.

We shall wait and see. I doubt KONAMI will get fans back with their stupid decisions at times...

It's just the normal Evo-Web yearly sensationalism. If it's not one thing it's another. And I just can't be arsed anymore.

Really looking forward to the game though, all the layers of technique that have been added have me drooling.

What does KONAMI do? Trolls us all with J-RPG style shit. Buy poles to +5 dribbling ability of your player. Hint: you can use it for one player only. Great!

i've always noticed, they just never play a bit part or make much difference, its never been and will never be game breaking

I can't wait for the moment when a player of my ML squad confronts me, unhappy with the fact that I didn't assign the new Nike boots to him. He will now have a permanent purple arrow and I will be forced to sell him.

No-one, even Adam, said the idea was bad. It's some parts of it which are terrible.

When player development is turned OFF:

Personal Training +1 (increases a specific ability by +1) - 50 GP
Personal Training +3 (increases a specific ability by +3) - 200 GP
Personal Training +5 (increases a specific ability by +5) - 500 GP
Personal Training ALL +1 (increases every ability by +1, that is not already 99) - 5000 GP
Personal Training ALL +3 (increases every ability by +3, that is not already 99) - 10000 GP
Recovery Trainer (improves resistance to fatigue) - 200 GP
Physiotherapist (improves resistance to injury) - 200 GP
Conditioning Trainer (increase Form by +1) - 500 GP

The 10 that are added when you have player development ON are:

Stopwatch (makes Speed training more effective) - 200 GP
Free Weights (makes Power training more effective) - 200 GP
Mini Goal (makes shoot Training more effective) - 200 GP
Keepy Uppy Ball (makes Pass training more effective) - 200 GP
Training Poles (makes Dribbling training more effective) - 200 GP
Balance Disc (makes Defence training more effective) - 200 GP
Cycling Machine (makes Stamina training more effective) - 200 GP
Personal Trainer (makes ALL training more effective) - 5000 GP
Extra Positions (equip to earn experience for position (lasts 1 year)) - 500 GP
Skill Boost (equip to earn experience for Player Index (lasts 1 year)) - 500 GP

Personal opinion, most of the above is decent, APART from the following:

Personal Training +1 (increases a specific ability by +1) - 50 GP

The last thing is artificial stats boosting. No-one forces you to buy it, but it's there for players. So it's not about boots as you can see above. Those just add some stuff...

What does that mean? Well, you can make any player 99 stats if you so desire. Who needs natural development? What's more, this will be available in ML Online mode I hear too. Now is it good or bad? I say it's bad.

I wouldn't mind boots and whatnot. Though from Nike/Puma/Adidas perspective if I saw Messi playing in Puma boots, I would be fuming... I would want my ads player to PLAY and ADVERTISE actual boots he wears in real life.

What's more combining the above with for example F50 boots you can make combo. So, special boots and some personal training could give you +9 boost in speed, is that right? Whatever the ability, this is bonkers.

Really can't comprehend this.

Nba Live died because of its horrible gameplay. No game will ever die except because of its poor gameplay.

I agree with with you about the boots boost being a stupid idea because Pes master league has much more important priorities, but rest assured that Pes will never die because of this.

Pes will die when the game will be no more fun to play.

Besides, i'm 100% certain that after this whole mess they will give much more attention to an authentic Master League next year. There is no need to be so dramatic.

They know that an angry fan means one less copy and they will react accordingly to make fans happy.

- The pressuring from the CPU is insane, at one point I couldn't get out of my own half repeatedly because the CPU was literally man-marking every player I had to the point where they were practically standing on top of my player, just reacting to the ball approaching and nipping ahead to get the ball where my players would stand still.

- All rebounds seem to fall for the CPU for yet another game running.

- The CPU seems almost incapable of scoring from any other method other than via a through ball, often aided by the CPU making my defenders run away from the attacker for a split second before I can gain control of them, much like in PES2012.

- Skills don't seem to work on Top Player. Step overs, shoulder drops, nothing seems to work. The CPU just stands firm and closes you down instantly with 2-3 players. I tried using the new controls as much as possible with top dribblers like Robben and Ribery, y'know, the ones Konami were obsessed with showing us as much as possible like the nutmeg and bridge move from a standing start, but I can't get them to work. Perform the nutmeg and the CPU 100% of the time just stands firm and the ball hits the legs of the defender.

Hmm, I did think this was potentially the best PES ever but now I'm not so sure. Despite losing a ton of friendlies on Top Player, experiencing what I said above, I'd still finish every match with possession in excess of 55-60%, which isn't right.

Add this to the absolute bungling, awful sense of Konami game design with Master League and my anticipation for this game has taken a massive dent. Whereas I was 100% sure to pre-order and buy the game, I'm now probably 50-50 at best. Oh dear.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I'll never understand how the play testers/ majority of posters on here don't see the same.

It's just not very good.

Exactly my thoughts. Also i don´t understand how the guy went to number 1 enemy of this forum to become the leader of a quest to save ML.

He was always hated here for his positive overreactions about PES and now, all the sudden, he finds something that disagree him in the game, makes all this baby noise, and everyboy here begins to believe and trust him 100%.

All that i see here in the last 7 pages are stupid jokes about aspects of the ML that no one, except Adam, saw or tested. 90% of the people just come here to complain about the game and only 10% comes to make constructive critics.

Honestly, konami gives a shit about evo-web users or wenb, or do you think that loosing 100 sales because of Adam´s histery will make any difference for them?

Seriously though, i think this boots euphoria kinda being intended to take pc players attention from their unreleased second demo lol :OOOH:

Its all window dressing, smoke and mirrors on what is actually quite a poor gameplay engine. If in 2012 I still cannot feel a pronounced effect of stats on the pitch because the gameplay engine is really only built to service fluid animations, then no amount of flashy sky sports interviews or other shiny presentation devices will convince me to play. I'll wait and see, but since FIFA 09 every FIFA I've tried doesn't come close to PES in terms of player individuality, no matter how good or shiny it looks.

No-one forces you to buy it, but it's there for players.

Then what is the big deal? If you're not forced to buy it then don't use it (to the degree that you can avoid it). I didn't use the youth team last year in ML, I did in 2011 but not in 2012. It was there as an option, but I went down a different path, did it kill the game just because it was there? The actual stopwatch, keepy uppy, training poles stuff looks decent, the boots not so. Is this supposed to be the huge gamebreaker that completely destroys the game from being enjoyable whatsoever?

I'm not sure if I can do that but when the final game will be released I can try and import the ML from pes2012 to pes2013 , but if it's possible it's only going to happened on the PC version.
