So people still going on about boots - no one responded to my previous post about shooting and crossing in the demo eh...

I too have seen the yellow card after the foul/advantage on this demo. One thing I've seen now but I don't recall before is that if you pass the ball and get taken out by the tackle, the ref plays on. If I remember correctly, the ref would have called the foul straight away on PES 2012?

So a player slides in on you just as you've made the pass and the ball has gone to the recipient. But the ref stops play and comes back only if you lose advantage.

By the way - have seen some really good saves all round the more I play the demo. It's refreshing to hit a shot low into the corner and the keeper digs it out with one hand instead of falling onto his side lol.

Zeemeister - try double tapping the button when your keeper throws out the ball. Seems to be less floaty from what I've seen.

PES 2012, i don't know if you call it a bug since it was in gamescom that i remember asking chaos (wenb) if i am not mistaken.

"do you use one-two passes all the time?" he said not really. But every short passes made result in the first player to run forward after making a pass. It was gamescom build we saw on youtube.

Nevertheless, the game was still on the development stage and people did not complain about preview, or whatever code adam had at the time. Just spesific gamescom come. So actually, nothing related to Adam's code. :))

Right, so I've been away from this thread for a few days - can someone please sort out whether I interpreted this correctly:

If I start an ML in PES2013, all the players will be wearing black boots?! Is this a bloody joke?? What footballer wears plain black boots anymore let alone the whole side? And the rest of the sides as well? Are Konami taking the piss??

It's too early to judge it.
Why is it too early to judge it? Because we don't have any objective information about it. We have the information second or third hand and this originating from a guy who is (IMO unjustly and exagerated) despised for his subjectivity and who said himslef he doens't like the new additions. So he is extremely prejudiced. I tend to judge things from firsthand experience.
It might be a bad addition, it might also be fun (i see possible tactical decisions coming in consideration, which might add to the fun factor in the game), we will see when we have the retail version and play the ML.
Now concerning the ML. I used to be a big fan (there was this fantastic thread where we told our stories, the best thread ever on this site), but since roughly PES2009 for some reason i find that i'm getting bored by it after a while. And this even in PES2011, the only version with good gameplay IMO.
I like both demo's and i hope Konami will not alter the gameplay too much (but i don't like the complaining about the shooting, which is -while not ideal- much, much better than the horrible shooting in PES2012), i will try the ML, but i liked it more in PES3, 4 and 5. Strangely it has become less immersive for me since Konami wanted to make it more "realistic". By making it more "realistic" for me they made it less realistic (i know this sounds weird), because there are no second divisions. And now it is less rewarding to mix leagues (what we used to do in those earlier PES versions).
The people who complain about the new additions being unrealistic are deluding themselves. PES is not a simulation, it i a video game. If you want realism, go play real life football. Their reactions are hysterical because nobody here has played the ML with the new additions, so nobody has a clue that it will be a game spoiler. Right at this moment it is a 50% gamble if it will be horrible or not. Now i realize that some people will say "I told you so" after playing the retail version, but still even for them it was a gamble.
Generally, i don't like this thread much. A couple of years ago people almost wanted Seabass dead (or similar things) and now people are complaining that he isn't on the development team. IMO Konami should not listen to the fans. Most of them are hysterical.

Oh and something off-topic: can anybody explain me why on earth posting something, deleting it and afterwards posting the same thing is 'spamming'. IMO 'spamming' is posting or sending hunderds of mails or post, not posting one, deleting it and posting it again. Basically, that is posting once....

You really, really want to know why Mr. Gerd? Is it bothering you that much that you absolutely feel the need to question it and demand an answer? Is it bothering you in your sleep too?

Ok, Mr. Gerd, here goes why:

The guy posted a pic of his "girlfriend" in the PES thread, when he simply could've just replied saying it's his girlfriend without the need to post the pic (which would add the possibility of further dragging the thread off-topic) because we can already see it in his avatar. Then he realizes the thread has a new page, and his "girlfriend's" pic is buried in the older page. He deletes it, and reposts it again in the new page for everyone to see. We get the point. To me that IS spamming.

And again, as you seem to have quite a problem with us mods recently, please PM your questions/doubts to us.

I don't know guys, I mean I can see the good stuff in the new game, really pleases me some of the additions. I've just reached a point with PES where there's just too many niggling wrong things still in the game. The animations (or transitions, I'm no expert), the colour palette, weird passing on times, the way the CPU looks to move forward with its initial movements every time, the constant sprint feel to the game, lack of real acceleration, scripting, still dodgy keepers, shooting still not satisfactory, I could go on. Now this ML issue.

The game, for me anyway, just feels wrong on times. Like as if its still in beta or something. I appreciate that these are demos, but I don't think we're a million miles away from how the full release will feel.

I spent my life playing the PS2 games. I put a million hours into 2011 and learned to love 2012. I may still find some love for 2013. I think it may be my age showing and miserable git syndrome, but I just want a game now, out of the box, that plays like a footy sim. Perhaps it's too much to ask, perhaps footy games are just too difficult to find that sweet spot of replicating real life footy and including a fun element. Only time will tell I guess, but I just find it so frustrating that the biggest game in the world cannot be represented satisfactorily in gaming.

Had a great match this morning, won 3-2 away at Manchester City whilst playing as Bayern. The best part was in the last minute, I conceded a penalty through nothing but slow reaction times. Substitute Balotelli steps up to take it and skies it high and wide.

Went to the game plan screen and find, via selecting to mark him, that he's on a down arrow. Thought this was great and seriously, never seen the CPU miss a pen in normal time, apart from hitting the woodwork. Even throughout my entire time with the previous game.

Black boots I can deal with.
Wouldn't bother me if when you won games you unlocked new boots.
But I can't have/accept that boots this year will give players their "powers"
That's a fucking joke.

I hope that with the next gen consoles and new engine they have the ability to make the CPU competitive for football reasons, the cheap tricks the game currently uses are staring to wear rather thin. Seeing a CPU defender go from a sprint to dead stop, turning 180 degrees, accelerating past my player and pushing him off the ball all in the blink of an eye is a bit of a piss take.

This boots thing is beyond ridiculous.

But I have a question: will the CPU controlled teams in ML be able to assign boots too? Because that would be a game breaker for me.

From what I've read, you unlock those stupid boots when playing Online, and only then you can use it with your ML team?

But if we just ignore the whole thing, maybe all the teams in ML would be playing with normal boots?

It would be still bothering me having everyone in my team using the same black boots, but I'd settle for it just to avoid them "cheating" boots :MAD:

Yes they do. What hasn't been said is whether they apply any logic to their assignments or is it just random, if they assign boots with speed and dribbling to a defender over an attacker for example that would be (even more) ridiculous.

This is my biggest fear. Any solution to this? Maybe if I never play online and never unlock the boots, then the CPU won't be able to use them either? :D

Its not an online thing, you can play ML totally OFFLINE and you still unlock boots.
The CPU will unlock and use them too.

The new club secretay is always going on about the boots and its very in your face, with constant reminders etc so its not really something you can totally ignore, choose not to use them, yes, but ignore, no.

This is a massive backward step for crdibility and authenticity on Konamis part.

I am seeing lots of missed passes and poor shooting from the likes of Madrid. I likey and hope it stays

Surely KONAMI can simply allow us to choose at the beginning of your ML to switch off the 'generic boot shiiite' and so we can have our team in season one wearing whatever boots we choose as we can in PES12?

It's hardly "just a rumour", it's a first hand report from a direct account of playing the review version of the game. Unless that person is flat out lying in which case their reputation and career would be out the window before you could say magical boots, I don't see any logical reason to doubt that it's an accurate representation of what the final game will be like.

You took Ben's statement totally out of context. And I can tell you the people who played it at the show never complained of any bug.

That was the funniest thing about it, there was everyone who played the game at the show loving the game, and those watching videos complaining at WENB for going against the hate.

Logic.

I'm hoping for this! Just like they allow us to choose Reset Cheating Prevention ON/OFF, Classic Players ON/OFF (I hated when I forgot to turn it Off and saw Pele playing for other teams).

I mean, in a BAL career I would gladly use this boot boost thing for my player, but only because our player is the center of all attention. In ML, this feature makes no sense whatsoever.
