Totally right, i agree 100%

This issue is really evident and serious because every team, no matter the tactic in use, play this pattern (pushing straight forward).
Therefore I hope konami is aware of it and in his infinite wisdom will address it properly.

yep +1 I can live with crappy graphics and the reluctance to provide crappy camera angles as these can be fixed by modders.

The AI through balls are killing the game, slowly followed by the goalkeepers then the ball on a string effect which is my pet hate..the ball just doesn't look free at times and it just annoys the life out of me

hey guys.. I got a question about manual keeper

will you be able to use this online in PES 2013 this year? Sorry I didn't play this last year but the last time I did play PES online this control was only available offline and not online for some reason.

I use this a lot.. and I'm sure I'm not the only one. it will make my online experience much better if I have this control available for my keeper

Basically , we don't know anything special news about online mode .
Just that will have online leagues .. that mean they don't do nothing new with online mode .

has anyone mentioned that the following cheat is still present:

a defender not under my cursor(cpu defender my team) is pushed back/stops before getting into 1v1 with the striker while the striker is waiting for the cross/pass to come into the box
happens not that often as previous games but still, wtf

same goes for this:
u like to switch the cursor to the cpu defender who is engaging an opponent player at speed running, u switch cursor and the player struggles? stops for a slight amount of time, enough to let the striker move ahead
wtf

this can get very annoying online when crossing whore abusers are spamming 90mins through the game, once or twice this can lead to a goal and u cant do nothing

i know i can switch cursor to the defender standing in the box right before the cross comes in and control him manually so he is where i like him to be, but still i need to give up the defender on the side to block the cross manually by my own

Why dont you use secondary pressure to tackle the guy trying to put the cross in?

What I find a pain is that penalties aren't given when they should be. The advantage rule in place for anywhere else on the pitch goes to shit inside the box. Missed out on so many pens after being barged over, blocked off or when Rio Ferdinand has stared at me. The CPU side however will get these penalties half of the time. Hope it's fixed for release.

Aplogies for posting this in the general thread as I can't find anything specific, but basically I'm very close to deciding to go for it and buy a pretty high end gaming PC. I was just wondering, for those PC PES gamers out there, what kind of mods are available to improve graphics?

I know you can find mods to change turf, add kits and players, and alter stuff like the scoreboards on-screen, but are there any mods that actually change the graphics, say, to change the lighting effects etc? Other games like GTA have some truly amazing mods out there, so given this is a heavily modded game, perhaps you can do stuff like this? I play a lot of PES so would actually help my decision to buy a PC or not.

I'd only want mods that change the game visually, however, I'm just odd that way. I'd rather play a game as intended rather than messing around with gameplay, whether people think it's better or not. All I'd be interested is improving the game visually.

Also can you get the game to be proper high resolution, 1080p?

Why not adjust the in-game colour settings? I'm not sure what the options are off the top of my head but I think you can adjust the red, green and blue level as well as brightness.

That way you don't ruin your settings for everything else.

I don't think there is anything that changes the lighting effects or anything to that level. However, there are loads of mods mate, the cumulative effect of which completely changes the game.

First and foremost, simply turning off the blur effect has a stunning impact. Everything looks sharp once again. I'm completely at a loss to understand why the blur effect was ever added - it's horrendous. Then you have better kits, ball and turf textures, LOD mixer. Adboards are another thing which give the game a better look. When you download a patch with all of these things the game looks wonderful.

Then you have to consider the community made stadia, many of which look absolutely stunning.

1080p? Yep.

60 fps? Yep.

You can go higher on both if used with a decent monitor. PES isn't very demanding (although that will change with the Fox engine I'd imagine).

Honestly the more I use manual shooting, the more I think it's entirely too effective, becoming almost a bit blasé about all these amazing volleys and top corner strikes. Just played terribly vs Arsenal, dominated possession but defended badly and went down 3 goals to nil, so with no time left I decided to shoot from kick off manually... and it went in, cue Essien making an awfully long run to collect the ball from the net.

Problem is, now I've played with manual shooting I can't bare the lack of freedom with assisted shooting.

so manual shooting is easier than assisted? I have played on nothing but manual shooting so far. I need to try assisted I guess to see which feels best I guess. when playing on vertical wide and manual shooting is on.. it feels great to strike it so well

Probably. I know goalgerd isn't going to be making an option file this year. So if I do. Would either upgrade my pes2012 file or work on someone else's option file

Absolutely loving PES demo still! Can't get enough, with Jenkey's 72 team patch and the extra stadium add ons and nets and balls and everything! I think I've got the gameplay sliders right for me and I've also edited the camera to suit me. Can't wait to get my hands on the full thing and start a Master League :....

Absolutely loving PES demo still! Can't get enough, with Jenkey's 72 team patch and the extra stadium add ons and nets and balls and everything! Yes I agree.. I just started playing the demo over the weekend and I'm very impressed. this demo is very good even on PS3... this gameplay is very addicting again like it use to be in the old PS2 days for me.

I am going to buy a new computer and might even get this game on PC for the first time ever to take use of all the nice patches.

I'm on Xbox and after a fair few games on the 5 min demo, I've put it away. Looking forward to the proper release. I envy you guys on PC but I think you're losing some of the magic for release date too :P

I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I persuaded THREE different people to give the PES demo a go this week, all fairly knowledgable football fans, all somewhat of FIFA players. And ALL of them couldn't stand it, said it was awful, even unplayable. :II

PES 11 was marmite, and I could understand people not clicking with it. But there's nothing in PES 13 that stands out as being inaccessible. It's just football. Even the animations and fluidity are almost on a par with FIFA now....I don't think I'm being blind am I? I called out PES 12 on all it's faults, but PES 13 is an absolute sublime game in my eyes. Only thing holding it back is the poor CPU, but surely that cannot be perceived immediately by new players?

Why? Because of animations. Animations are absolutely not on par with Fifa. Let's face the truth.

Animations are better than FIFA. PES runs very smooth and fluid, the feeling of momentum and inertia is miles ahead of FIFA.

Animations and a collision system are a requirement these days especially for sports games; player physics and player animations is the first thing anyone would see from a sports game. Konami didn't invest in those at the beginning, and now are struggling because of it; only now they've decided about it for PES 2014. Hell, if i had not known PES in the ps2 days, i would have chosen FIFA too.

Animations are OK for me at this point, they've hit the bottom of 'acceptable' and im pretty sure they'll be much better on Next Gen. I still have problems with collision detection getting in the box with a quick turn only to see the defenders leg go through mine without any contact or pen being given.

It's the old argument I think. Many of the animations in PES are actually very good - and I agree, better than FIFA's - but it's the transitions and linking that lets them down. FIFA's animations are very smooth and varied, although I wouldn't necessarily say they are better compared in isolation i.e. PES's sprinting animation compared to FIFA's.

Watching darts isn't going to be the same again. :((

Wadell was such a character, a master with words and highly intelligent. He was a bigger star than most of the players.

Looking forward to tonight's game. Loach should be up for it at least.

I think FIFA's animations look better personally Tim.

PES (including the 2013 Demo) the animations STILL look robotic and awkward in places. One thing which does my head in is the ball when its being dribbled by a player. It perfectly straight lines in front of them like its tethered to their foot!

Saying all of this though IMO FIFA suffers with the Animations playing on too long and this makes the game feel unresponsive.

Also I keep seeing people say "Inertia" in these threads. Can someone please explain to me how Inertia correlates to a football game?

So its the ball having Inertia that you guys are talking about or is it the players when they move?

Fairly obvious how inertia relates to a football game. Without it players move unrealistically, for instance a player shouldn't be able to change direction instantaneously or slow down quickly when moving at speed.

Well this is kinda how I see PES. Awkward Animations sudden jerks of movement when players change direction etc.
