PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

i dont know why it hasnt happened before in the last 10 years. do you think this time some guy at konami was just like "wait, what if we...."

i bet they all thought he was some kind of genius!

Maybe now they have a product they're confident with and won't still be tweaking keepers until 6 months after release like they did last year.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

after taking a break and coming back to the game... straight away i really notice 2 issues need to be fixed

- player switching is bad
- first time passes so often just get tapped

but gameplay is still awesome... love it still

Totally agree with those two points,

Still do not understand this dynamic one-two and how it differs from the previous one-two option in previous versions.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Because you choose which direction the initial passer will advance towards, rather than just a straight run forward. A much better system,I found. When I played it of course.

It's still not my most perfect option though, I'd prefer the intelligence of the run to be based around players statistics, with the more clever and agile players making zig/zag style stop/start/ feinting/arcing runs in between tight gaps or back-lines. That would be the ultimate realism for me. nothing beats a clever run.

http://www.officialplaystationmagaz...ising-football-game-that-may-reflect-emotion/
PS4 PES powered by FOX engine
The first thing to make clear is that PES won’t just be using the engine wholesale. “We are not using the FOX Engine,” says marketing producer Manorito Hosoda. “We’re just sharing the fundamental part of it with Kojima Productions. We have to tailor the engine specifically for football games.”

But while it might not bring us the ability to snap John Terry’s neck, it should enhance our virtual footballing experience in other ways. “Having that engine we are sure that we’ll be able to create a surprising football game – for instance we may be able to reflect the user’s emotion in the game.”

And that, for the team tasked with taking Pro Evolution Soccer back to the top, is vital. “The ultimate goal is perfect realism, but if we create such a game the controls will be too difficult. In order to have realism and entertainment elements, our goal will be to link users’ emotions with the in-game players’ emotions. We’d like to link user emotion with every aspect in the game,” says Hosoda.
Here's hoping that shouting "you cheating pus-bags" at the screen will cause guilty faces on the AI and the referee to cack his pants. If not, I'd settle for snapping Terry's neck.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

He's said he's using the engine tailored for Football games. That's all.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

it wont matter how amazing the fox engine is if the ai scripting is still rampant, they need to build the new game right from scratch

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

One thing gets annoying as fook and I hope it gets removed/revamped/tuned whatever, it JUST CAN'T remain in the GAME like it is IMPLEMENTED now.

You probably have seen it million of times, but what I do get at is:

GET RID OF THE FUCKING ANNOYING FAKE SHOT AROUND GOALKEEPER ANIMATION!! Or at least TONE it down so AI doesn't score 100 out of 100 doing it. Cheap way of letting AI score that one :(.

It's sooo annoying. However, I have NOT seen it even once when using Jenkey tool on -2 AI slider (yes, I know, that setting is noobish). Even if AI went one on one with GK they didn't do fake shot, instead they tried chip shot/straight shot/curled shot.

The dumb animation kicks in on -1 0 +1 +2 setting though... :/. Means AI cheating is still there... Somewhere...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Think everyone's getting a bit carried away with this Fox Engine. It obviously isn't nowhere near ready to be fully implemented into football titles yet. Lets just talk about the next title due for release next month not one that's 1-3 years down the line.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I wasn't. I knew that development will take time. EA took almost 2 years to make FIFA 10 engine. That's more than 1 year of tuning/tweaking.

If we get decent playable PES on FOX Engine in 2 years I would be more than happy.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

And how do you do that?

Is it just using the system you use when not doing a one two pass. That is pressing your R3 and choosing a direction.

One-two, the first passer can be directed to go to variety directions with your R3, including go back. just after he one-two passes, pick his running direction using R3

Can you do that using team mate control ?, i think in auto control we can only pick a player with R3 but the direction only one way forward, no ? i rarely tried it in PES 2012 though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

No if you put teammate controls to manual instead of assist in your settings you can direct him where you want.

One question. Do you have to press your r3 or do you simply direct with the stick.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

For all this fox engine hype, imagine if some of the same old PES classic dinosaurs animations were to stay.Like those eternal goal celebrations, those keepers saves.I swear I've been seeing some specific animations for something close to a decade

well its only the first year that theyre trying fox engine... so wait until the year after to see real results

I do hope the mega bumming pile-on-top goal celebration stays for eternity, it's what stuns my wife every year. Neymar's goal celebration in the game this year was born to be a Pro Evo animation, it's camper than Dale Winton's pet squirrel. I reckon by the time this Fox Engine is implemented we'll have close-ups of some truly heart-warming cum faces as soon as that ball crosses the line. Emotion in the player, emotion in the game. It's about time they matched up.

 you fucking crack me up dude.

Me and a particular friend of mine used to religiously play PES together back in the old days, picked Nigeria vs Cameroon all the time, used to always have epic games against one another with those teams!

BABANGIDAAAAAAAA!

We commented on how gay the celebrations were, it did look like a mass bumming session when a goal was scored, rofl.

That's what makes PES gold, moments like that and the "CELERY!" on the flags in the crowd, all of that stuff, love it :D

Celery is a real thing that happens at Stamford Bridge I believe.

Its a nice addition though a bit strange to get used to.

But since PES 2012 and the 2013 demo I rarely use the one-twos anymore, only on the odd occasion when you really need to force/trigger a run.

The AI is generally quite good at finding space and making runs for itself, diagonal runs as well. Its more pronounced when you have player support on 14 and above, but even below it players find space and their AI movement from 2012+ is better than in previous PES games.

On another note someone recently sung the praises of the lofted pass on the demo, I agree its delicious, especially with pass masters like Pirlo, D'Alessandro, Ganso etc. Its very useful when you want to play a chipped through ball from a deeper position, you can use it as an alternative.
