PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

One thing i recently noticed is that they lied about overhead 'sombrero' flick to be hard and very situational to pull off.

I can spam it all game long with decent enough players. Just click right stick when recieving the ball to flick it up and then push left stick to the opposite direction. I find this feint easiest to pull off. Really dislike trick/feint controls, too unresponsive and rigid imo.

Dropping my CV at gamescom. Will com in my Henry Jersey and a ball to show off some juggling skills too lol. Just kidding.

What is this fox engine people keep talking about?

Konami is looking to the Fox Engine for the next generation of Pro Evolution Soccer as it seeks to avoid the slump it found itself in when the series moved to HD consoles.

Speaking as Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 was properly unveiled at a press event in Brazil, senior producer Naoya Hatsumi addressed Eurogamer's question of what the team is doing to avoid the situation it found itself at the dawn of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, where its use of an older engine led to a series of under-par releases.

"What we are trying to do is we are going to win back the crown when it comes to the next generation," Hatsumi said. "That's what we want to do, and to do this we need to have a new engine. That's what we think."

"We have to use a new engine," Hatsumi continued. "Have you heard of the Fox Engine? We are working very closely with them."

Was watching City V Chelsea yesterday and there were a huge amount of pass backs to the keeper yet in PES this dont happen. I wonder why?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

The Fox engine is being developed by Kojima Studios. If you are familiar with the Metal Gear series you will know what it means and why they use this name "Fox" :)

Let's hope it helps PES big time!

Because it is not easy to replicate real player's footballing mind in a game ? Especially if it is performed just for the sake of passing back.. no pressure etc.

Even, us, human player does not often pass back to gk, no ? :P

funny photoshop proxi hahaha
I hope they work on the ref cause it's too easy to cheat in this demo, you can whack a player and as long the opponent has the play on you'll never get a card

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yeah that is bad. I thought PES 2012 had it where the referee would go back and book players when the ball went out of play?

That isn't in, no. As far as I'm aware, PES2011 was the same too. You can hack anyone down if you time it right, usually just after the victim has passed the ball in a situation where the ref would give an advantage, i.e. a promising attack. It's how I repeatedly attempt to injure the players I detest. Happy for it to be fixed though, greater good and all that.

Mmm, training mode. I want General Lee from Takeshi's Castle to stand pitch-side with his staff, barking commands and judgement in Japanese.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

As usual, the UK gets shat on. Only a day or two in it so no big deal really.

Great move by Konami though. Get the game out before FIFA to at least get a week or two in the limelight and get a few sales from impatient FIFA fans.

i dont know why it hasnt happened before in the last 10 years. do you think this time some guy at konami was just like "wait, what if we...."

i bet they all thought he was some kind of genius!
