PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I have Jenkey's patch and the unlocker fix. What do you mean by you have to configure it to your patch?

You don't have to configure it for the Jenkey patch because it already is.

You need to configure it if you're using another patch. :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Ahh I see what you mean!

What shot power and ball speed settings do you use mate? Also do you use the AI Slider?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I haven't tried these features yet, only have the AI Balance box ticked, I'll test the others soon.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yeah, same here! Everyone seems to say shot power 131 and ball speed 82. Think I will try those first, and AI slider on +1.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

After several hours of testing here are settings I am very happy with. It takes the edge off the bullet-like shooting and passing speed, so only the best players do the rockets reliably. The game tempo shifts beautifully between slow and fast. I can't tell you how glad I am to have great through balls working now. Animation speed seems just right to me. Although I am not sure how dependent these adjustments are on individual PC configurations. :P

Shot power 103
Ball Speed 92
Enforce AI balance checked (much less cheating from AI!)
AI Level +2 (makes AI pressure a bit more and is a bit harder, needed I think after reducing the worst cheating)
Also: Passing assistance 1 bar or less (gives a lot more variation and touch with passing at the settings above. At 2-bar assistance passes still rocket about a bit.)
[speeder]
count.factor=1.005 (entered manually in unlock.ini)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Brilliant thanks, I'll try those settings later! What does the Speeder bit do that you added?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

It's amazing how many animations have been added this year. Has everyone noticed how crosses into the box are always fully manual now? Previous years you aimed semi-auto relative to the penalty spot, but this year it seems fully manual and a lot harder.

@ Tim7 The speeder setting changes the overall game speed slightly, including animation speed. For some reason .005 can make a surprising difference. But change that one last, because it is very subjective. Even on different sized monitors I have that one slightly different.

Because I was finding every team could drill passes like Spain or Barca on a good day. But maybe I have been playing the demo too long.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I'd like a zero assistance lobby in pes 2013 like they promised (passing lobbies for the patch) in pes 2012. It would have setting locked to zero assisted passing and you'd be unable to change them in game. There'd probably be only about 5 people in it at a time but it would be worth it :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

It it obvious he just speaks for the sake of speaking. 8-12 is not black and white. I will just ignore anything he ever says along with calcio (who doesnt know crap about football).

Thanks. At least I won't have to put up with you and Matty slapping each other's back at every comment because you agree with each other.

I played the game at a good level for 20 years. I don't know who you are and I've only just seen you around here. But just because I disagree with your want to have more managerial options, means I know nothing about football? No worries...but I guess you won't reply to this anyway.:TTTH:

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Thats the key distinction I feel. Players should have innate traits that'll predispose them to play a certain way, but not so it completely overides all instruction. There's no end of examples of players being asked to fulfill unorthodox roles they arent used to. If you have a system in mind you should be allowed to express it, rather then being dictated by the players you have. The effectiveness, like you said, should be down to individuals, but not the overall strategy.

...

AVB at Chelsea tried this and the effectiveness, as you said, was ultimately down to the individuals. He didn't last too long because he couldn't get his players to work...system wise or personality wise.

Mourinho was not as successful as he wanted (nor was his team as good to watch) failed in his first season at Madrid and had to change the way they played in season 2. Now even though he still applies his system, he ultimately had to adapt to the strengths of his players.

I agree with your first couple of sentences but I don't see how any of that can't be done with the current system. If you put a player into a different position, you see their rating can change, but also their cards might switch off. You can also position them on a certain part of the pitch (e.g. towards a wing) but select them as a CM so they drift inside.

As much as you can instruct a player, in a game situation, he falls back to what he knows. It's instinct.

I'm not sure what your other comment was before about stats not being needed?

Amen

PEEL has a very healthy online league consisting of 3 divisions all 100 % unassisted using small teams. We have leagues cups etc and play in a lobby that we sort of made ours.

We had issues with members claiming or complaining about assistance settings and it caused a bit of uncertainty here and there thankfully all has been pretty normal but having lobbies that can be restricted would be unbelievably awesome.

On the PES2013 demo For the moment it can be seen when the poweris yellow your opponent is 0 assist and on any assistance it is green. But that's not going to stop some clowns telling you they unassisted then chaniging mid game. LOL.

PES takes on a new life online when you don't have to play against the AI and against opponents who don't play with only the big teams.

Cheers. I'll definitely join PEEL when I get a PS3, still using the 360 for now. Can't stand playing zero vs assistance anymore online, its unbalanced and unfair tbh.

They promised passing lobbies but didn't deliver, restricted lobbies would be awesome but I don't think enough people will use them, so zero users will probably be marginalized again into community organisations like PEEL.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

@shorty I think it will be very popular having 0 assist lobbies. Honestly you venture online and in mlo and you will see a lot of people just looking for a good ole game of PES.

Less reason to venture into lobby 1 looking for a game amongst a bunch of half wits.

I was going to suggest this earlier: would the addition of a rating (or in some other form) called "tactical discipline" make this possible to execute? I would like to see a system where we would be able to build the team plan as specific as we want, but also to be penalized by a player's tendency to negate it..

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

If they don't dedicate lobbies for zero assist maybe they could seriously lessen the points awarded for those using passing assist so that people are pushed towards using zero assist especially in MLO. If they gave more cash for winning on zero assist I think it would make alot of difference also alot less when they beat lesser teams etc.

There's alot more they can do online to make it more enjoyable I just hope they can implement some this year.

I'm a member of a zero assistance league mate, there are a lot of us. I have no respect for assisted passing ping pong button mashers, Konami MUST make 0 pass support lobbies.!!

Great post. I think you should lose 50% for having 1 bar assist, and 10% increments for every other bar os assistance you add. 5 bar assist you get 2 points for a win, but lose 15 for a loss and 10 for a draw. Weed out the no-skill ping pongers in no time.

This way it's a joke, ping pong no skill through balls all game long, off balance laser guided bullet passes , 5 in a row to goal. Pathetic, not football and it should be punished harshly.

In fact, all online shouldd be 0 assist really, even up the playing field. Besides, on 0 assist there is so much less scripting.

That's a really interesting suggestion. I like it.

nope
thats rewarding on a secondary level
they need to make it balanced in the gameplay itself in the first place
u need to have advantages here and there using no assistance, creating more goal scoring opportunities for example..
thats the only real deal they can make to balance it out and to reward it

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Some PC-patchers have apparantely dug up some informations about the planned modes from the demo. Seems like the code is already there in place, ie. the structure. The info was posted on wikipedia but got taken off probably due to complaints by Konami. According to that we will maybe get the Brazilian league fully licensed except for the name of the league and the logo.

The other interesting thing is a Master League-mode for national teams!

Don't trust everything you read on Wikipedia. the Brazilian league is in though, I've looked at the OF.
