PES 2012 Football Life thread

He's a bargain on a free, 81 rating with Pinpoint Pass trait and already up to 82.
Good to here on the sponsor side of things, need to get more depth to compete a new CB is the first target though Da Silva just isn't up to Bassongs standards.
Captaincy hasn't been decided yet, but it's between Giroud for that boost, Coloccini for experience and Shimizu

I'd have him playing AMF or an advanced CMF role, if I remember correctly, he had at least one of those positions in his locker. He is your playmaker without a shadow of a doubt. I'd have him pulling all the strings. Everything would be going through him. ;)

What season are you on now bud ? 3rd, 4th ?

Finally started a master league with Arsenal on superstar. I should of done this a while back as it is brilliant. You really have to think about individual traits of players in what they bring to the table. This is a crucial aspect to being successful at this game. Something I haven't had to do with a pes game for a long time.

Anyway my master league adventures got off to a flyer with 11 wins on the trot with Van persie scoring the lot. The last 4 games though have been so difficult, even to gain a draw. I have to concentrate so hard, not taking my eyes off the screen for a second. My missus walked past the tv and I screamed at her to get out of the way.

Im finally learning how to shoot as well, which has taken me almost 5 months. Scored some peaches with Van the man.

Anyway I am trying not lose focus with the chairman and players getting on my case after every game.

Currently at the beginning of my 4th year.

In the first game I played him in AMF (turns out he played as a CMF in that one, AMF isn't a position he has) for my first game and he played well as we crashed 3-2 at West Ham United, but since secured Diamanti from the free agents and he will play that role from now, Krhin will partner Ramzi in CMF.

Attacking options aren't an issue now, Bertoglio has no problem playing LMF, I think priority signings mid-season will be a new CMF ahead of Ramzi with a more powerful defensive aspect to his game and a CB who can fill the Bassong sized hole at the back.

In the pre-season and first game of the year I've been impressed by my new attacking full-backs but it's edgy when defending so hope they eventually round off in that aspect.

Playing the game as we speak, will update with more when I've played a few matches, oh and Giroud just grabbed his first goal a nice right footer into the corner liking him already ;)

Well the Giroud Goal Machine is up and running he struck FOUR in 68 minutes as we swept Blackpool aside 5-0 at Bloomfield, Krhin set up got two official assists but would have 3 if a defender didn't get a subtle touch on his long chip through ball for Giroud's 3rd the goal marathon was wrapped up with a header by new captain Coloccini.

I think (bar the blip at West Ham) our only opponent this season will be ourselves!

This years offering has to be (for me) the football game that resembles real life football. In my master league I am astounded to how good player movement is on and off the ball. It really is that good! Sometimes I just have to pause the game (which does interupt the flow) and stare at how my players move and respond to situations to try and create space for themselves.

Anyway managed to pick up some good results of late 3 draws and a win. Sure keeps the players happy and angry chairman off my back.

Quick question, I am doing my own editing (on console) and I have re-created the arsenal kit with the sponsor, but how do I add the nike logo? as I seem to only be able to add one chest logo without applying another.

Really loving Football Life, I think it's an excellent game mode. The improvements they've made have been awesome :) Nearing the conclusion of my 2nd season as Liverpool in my new save, as I got fired in my original save.

First season went okay. I didn't make any transfers as I didn't feel there were any real weaknesses in the squad that I couldn't deal with. Competition results were as follows:

-Premier League: 2nd (Chelsea were the winners)
-FA Cup: Quarter-Finals vs Fulham L3-0 (Arsenal were the winners)
-Europa League: Winners vs FC Porto W4-0

Then going into the second season was when I made some transfers. I sold Brad Jones, Martin Skrtel and Craig Bellamy getting me £5m, £7m and £12m respectively. I then brought in Matts Hummels for £19m and Naldo on a free transfer. Currently there is 10 games left in the Premier League and the competitions this year are:

-Premier League: 1st (Arsenal in 2nd, 4 points behind)
-FA Cup: Semi-Finals vs Manchester City (yet to play)
-Champions League: Round of 16 vs AS Roma (1st leg agg W3-2, 2nd leg yet to play)
-UEFA Super Cup: Winners vs Inter Milan W3-2 (aet)

All in all, it's going well. The Premier League race is going to go right down to the wire between me and Arsenal. Neither of us seem to be losing many games. Chelsea are well off the pace in 3rd and Manchester United are 1 point from Chelsea in 4th. Manchester City are level with United in 5th. I have the return leg at Anfield to deal with against AS Roma, which should be do-able. I'm not too fussed about the FA Cup, but it would be nice to win it. I suppose the only bad point about this season, is Charlie Adam put contract renewals on hold, and I couldn't find a buyer for him in the January window, so now he will move to AS Roma on a free.

Well mid-season pulls up and Hull City sit pretty at the top with 41 points from the 17 games taking in 13 wins 2 draws and 2 losses, its enough to pull 7 point clear of West Ham United in 2nd and 10 points clear of Joint 3rd duo Southampton and Crystal Palace. The Tigers have a real bite this year scoring 51 goals already, but the defence seems to have its tails between it's legs conceding 25 goals.

The league top scorer you will be unsurprised to hear is Giroud the left footed French star has got 30 goals on 18 appearances (one cup game) but all goals have been cracked in the League, form shows that he could certainly break half a century of goals this year an possibly become the higheat scoring player in league history for one year (could someone check the real life records, I want to know what I am aiming for, thanks in advance :) ) another who deserves a mention is Diamanti who has 12 goals in 11 games, hindered by an injury early on the Italian has been a real superstar this year already.
While assists are led by Diamanti with 10, a special praise goes for Krhin the midfielder is at the heart of all moves but misses out on assists because he tends to feed the other players around him to set up the goals.

In transfer news club captain Coloccini surprises the board by agreeing a near 50% salary cut in his new deal, and there are for the first time no starting XI casualties refusing new deals only a few fringe players who haven't played anyway.

In my search for a CB I found Jaidi a 16 year old Tunisian on the free agents, and I hope to sign him up (i know he's a regen, but come on he's 83 overall!) - got him ahead Southampton for £362k turns out he was on the others list not frees, a truly worthwhile signing.
Searching a CMF with defensive traits ended when I saw Tiote had put renewal talks on hold, the Toon star has the Enforcer, Box to Box and Anchorman traits an would be a truly wonderful addition to any side but one that's just been promoted.. He could be vital.

I can't resist a good stat, so I had a look for the most goals scored by one player in a season in the 2nd division.

The Championship as it is called now has only been in existence since 2005. Record goalscorer is Ebanks-Blake (Wolves)with 25.

Before that 2nd Div was called Division 1 from 93-04. Record goalscorer is Guy Whittingham of Portsmouth with 42 goals in 92/93 season.

Post-war 1947-1992, league was properly named Divison 2 and record goalscorer is A. Dooley of Sheff Wed with 46 goals in 1952.

Pre-war, the record is 59 goals by G. Camsell of M'brough in 1927.

Good luck beating that last one. What level do you play on?

Thanks for this information, that pre-war total is amazing. Not sure if I will hit it to be fair.

I play 15minute games at Professional level, only cause when I first played the game on top player it was far too frantic and pro seems more balanced and easier to play..

Giroud just added goals 31, 32 and 33 as West Ham got washed away at the KC Stadium, final score was 4-2 with Diamanti grabbing the 4th for Hull, the win opens up a 10 point gap at the top and on this form it seems noone will catch us!

why most of you are playing ML with normal teams, isn't anyone playing a master league with the likes of Ruskin, ettori, ordaz and co ?

I am. This i posted in the video thread:

If any of you complain about how any CPU player can be Messi in Premier League, please don't start a La Liga ML. I'm playing with a 2nd division team (Palmas) and i have to say its SO DIFICULT TO DEFEND IN THIS LEAGUE, everyone have good dribbling stats. DAMN!

But anyways, i'm enjoying a lot so far because you have to be 100% concentrated to get something and to avoid conceding. As someone said, the only let down is this poor scripting Konami has implemented

My 4-4-2 (sometimes 4-3-3) team so far. Not sure about the season, 4th or 5th!?
Al Habsi
Hugo Mallo Schmidt Palmieri Aanholt
Shimizu Romaric Camacho Dubarbier
Damiao and Cuenca

Bench: Fatecha, Balogun, Duffy, Jorgensen, Ljajic, Maqualao and Bueno. The latter just did this:
YouTube - Rabona goal - FL 2012

I also want Khrin but "its difficult to join someone who is first team regular" meh

Another targets: Giroud, Llorente, Arnautovic, Munian, Obertan, V der Vaart, Eriksen, Ekdal, Rodwell, Cedric and Courtois

Jeez bud, you and Giroud are tearing it up. Great stuff, and glad to see that you finally changed to 15 minute games. EPL here you come ;)

Jimmy - Captains get a stats boost!?!? by how much and where is this documented???

I read about the Captain stat-boost during the PS2 days, I'm sure it said 5%. I've looked since that time but have been unable to find any information on it. I'm assuming it's still the same, I can't see why they would remove it, being as stat-based as Konami are.

haha That made me laugh, like why would they bother removing all the in depth player stats like time with club, career goals etc, or the player trade transfers, or the development hexagons, or individual player training, or ..........

get my drift!!!

interesting though if captains do receive boots, i guess it makes naming a captain matter, rather than just being superficial.

Just had a game which reminded me why PES is better than FIFA.
Hull City have been flying in the league and coming into a game with Pompey 9 unbeaten with 7 straight wins.
Portsmouth took a 4 goal lead in 58 minutes, shock result perhaps but not whn you consider what happened, they sat of my passing team much like Newcastle did to Swansea a week or two back, allowing them to play in the areas which didn't matter and then hitting on the break, I had no answer to the tactics as they parked up with 7 people behind the ball and then long ball play to 3 forwards who by passed my two cb's easily (Coloccini has been injured) each time. Genius to me, scripting to the masses I would believe.
Giroud got two back for Hull late on, but by then it was two late the 4-2 score line is a wake up call to the boys.

And they took the call, tearing through Leiceister 4-0 two goals each for Diamanti and Giroud and it could have been double maybe even triple that had the Foxes keeper not been in brilliant form!

4th season comes to an end and Hull City are promoted as champions! 77 points from 34 games including 24 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses. The team scored 97 goals and conceded 51.

Giroud took player of the season award as well as top scorer with 51 goals in 35 games! Seriously anyone in need of goals in Division 2 NEEDS this guy, he truly is fantastic!
While Diamanti got Assist Leader with 18 assists 28 games, he also grabbed 24 goals in a amazing season for the Italian.

6 of the best 11 came from Hull this year they are: Coloccini, Armand Traoré, Cuadrado, Shimizu, Giroud and Diamanti.

Other players who need a mention are Krhin and Bertoglio, Krhin in particular I urge, literally urge anyone to sign him he pulled the strings and is the reason I secured ao many attacking moves, fantastic.

Transfer news comes later. Okay couldn't resist, AC Siena bid for 51 goal Giroud comes in at a grand total of ... ... ... You guessed it! £2.2million, they must be high.

I. Gueye and Tioté are my new Bosman lads. And I empties my youth squad by buying and releasing for the new year.

I'm now at the very beginning of year 5, about to venture into the Barclays Premier League for the first time.
My line up and squad for this season as of 01/08/2015 is:
4321
Manager: Adam Taylor

GK Mannone 80 rating.

RB Cuadrado 83 Rating.
CB Coloccini 79 rating.

DMF I. Gueye 86* rating. (89 in CMF; has Box to Box trait)
RMF Shimizu 92 rating.
LMF Ramzi 87 rating. (84 SS is his original position)
CMF Krhin 86* rating. (playing in the hole as a CMF; has Pinpoint Pass trait)

CF Giroud 80* rating (has Fox in the Box trait)

Club Captain: Krhin
Short Free Kick taker: Shimizu
Short Free Kick Taker 2: Giroud
Long Free Kick Taker: Krhin
Left Corner Kick: Krhin
Right Corner Kick: Krhin
Penalties: Giroud

Subs:
GK Gulasci 71 rating.
CB Palmieri 78 rating.
LB Voichulerd 76 rating.
RMF Dernia 74* rating. (has free roaming trait)
SS Diamanti 79* rating. (has mazing run trait)
CF Utaka 70* rating. (has Darting run trait)

Reserves:
CB Da Silva 75 rating.
RB Rosenior 71 rating.
RMF Brady 77 rating.
LMF J. Thomas 78 rating.
SS Schwarz 67 rating.

Targets:
No specified targets yet, will possibly be looking into strengthening the subs and reserves.
A new striker to fill in when Giroud isn't firing is a definite as Utaka doesn't have what it takes any more.

Hopefully with the team I have I can finish in the top half of the table, my only problem is depth and if injuries flow it could be catastrophic on my season.

I see that you are still relying on Palmieri, haven't you spotted a portuguese CB called werigal he's in my team, only 19 and has 88 overall ? I had a problem with virota 17 yo and 77 overall wasn't happy being used as a sub didn't renew and went to newcastle.
I will check it, are you using any patch? Btw, I have a problem with selling some default players, i admit :SMUG:

edit: didn't found any, are they from youth?

Congratulations mate, you smashed it good and proper. There has never been a more satisfying ML experience in PES than this years offering. Amazing.

I played a couple of games last in the EPL. First up was Manchester City away, the game ended 2-1 to City but Boro gave them a real run for their money. Ballotelli scored first with an audacious 25 yard lob over Steele. To be honest, I sat back and applauded the goal, what a finish. Ballotelli then made it 2-0 to City with a 25 yard piledriver into the bottom corner. Emnes scored to give the travelling fans hope, but it wasn't to be. The end game statistics finished almost exact between the two sides. Great game.

Boro then travelled to Crystal Palace looking for all 3 points. Boro dominated the play after a shaky start, with Giroud being denied time after time by the heroics of the Palace No.1. I swear, it was one of those games were Giroud was never going to score as long as he had a hole in his ass. Think Schmeichel and Wrighty. It was left to Carlos Martins to secure all 3 points after his speculative long-range effort introduced him to the Premiership in spectacular fashion. And that's how it ended. This game is incredible by the way. :)

no I'm not using any patch, I'm playing with a team from the pes league; blookrows or something like that Werigal appeared in my youth team and he's a very solid CB way better than Palmieri.

concerning selling the default players it's true that they are difficult to sell except those who are from your starting eleven, I must admit that I'm following a wenger-like policy; bring young players-sell older ones, except for some 6 players that I kept all the way.

Do any of the usual suspects from PES2011's youth players reach the same heights in 2012? I know Shimizu does, but is also a whiny little shit, but do the likes of Schwarz, Palmieri, Schmidt etc get as good? In 2011 my Schmidt and Palmieri CB partnership grew into a fiersome one. Would be good to rekindle that in 2012!

All three of them 'should have the bright future', according to the coaches :) Although compared to 2011, Palmieri is nerfed considerably, so it will take a lot more time to reach stellar heights. Camacho and Duffy are worth a look.

If anyone plays with default OF, another two PES League uber-machines from 2011 have been toned down a lot - Vandebuurd (CB) and Yashin-clone Tsaktoyuri (GK).

Well I signed Schwarz at something like 58 overall an with a year he grew 9 to 67, now hearing in mind he barely plays and also missed a few years of training, I'd imagine he would easily hit 80+.
Same goes for Palmieri and I would guess anyone else you sign, playing definitely helps growth, as a comparison of Shimi and Palmieri for me shows.
Both joined at the same time, Shimi hasn't stopped growing at a fast rate while Palmieri has been stunted by a lack of match experience and so his growth shows it.

Ramzi is another example, he didn't play much for his first half season wig me and so didn't grow in rating, but since playing consistently he has started to grow considerably.

Training plus Match experience seems to be key in making any young player grow to the best rating. And I can't stress the match experience enough.

How, how, how

I had Giroud *spit* in PEEL and against human opposition and offline for that matter his first touch was horrendous and he can only shoot with that left peg. I did use him as a lone striker though. He was the first player that led me to need to climb in my TV and smack :P

This Giroud, in ML is 4 seasons improved stat-wise Zee, he is at least another 6-7+ rated OVR.

He's amazing! You just can't handle the maestro ;)
Nah, he's a few years older and with a bit of training he's a much more rounded player I'm sure you'd love him if you had him how he is now!

Still haven't played a game in the prem, back to school so pes takes a back seat to homework and sleep! :(

Well played 3 games of the prem an won the lot, so decided to push the difficulty up and see how it goes.
First game of the season was against Liverpool at home, we won 2-1 with goals from Voichulerd and Utaka, Liverpool were unlucky with two offside goals.

Second was QPR at home, a comfortable 2-0 win with both from Giroud.

An the third was the game I decided was time to shift up a level, we pulled Newcastle apart 5-2 at St James' park, with 4 goals from Giroud and one own goal, I somehow don't believe (despite his 51 goals last year) it should be possible for a newly promoted team to slip through so easily, and a striker of this team to hit 6 in 3 prem games. Will let you know how things progress with the difficulty change, I just hope it isn't as crazy as I remember it being!

Okay so I didn't want to be destroyed in FL by the potential god-like team ply the AI can produce on Top Player, so instead I sved my team data and played my next two opponents using it in Exhibition mode.

Blackburn Rovers away, for my team this should be a draw or win in my opinion, well i was wrong a Yakubu hat-trick and Hoillet goal followed by a Dunne free-kick meant we were turned over 5-0 in this one.

Then we played United away, I was expecting a loss by 2 or 3 goals, well again.. Rooney was god, while Welbeck was Jesus a hat-trick each, and one each for Nani and Valencia saw me off 8-0, I don't know whether it is the game or if I'm just genuinely not very good beyond Pro level, but I'm now stuck at a point where Top player will end up killing me off in FL, but Pro is a bit too easy an I don't want to end up winni the league because of a ridiculously easy season with Giroud scoring 50+ prem goals!

I'm about to embark on ML on Pro level, it's the most balanced I think. I'll play default ML players (Ettori et al), and to change things up from previous years I'll play as Benfica in the Porguese League. I just need to add the Daymos option file to get the rest of the teams sorted and I'm good to go. Benfica are fully licenced already and have their stadium too, which IMO looks the best graphically out of all of them. Really like the lighting in day, afternoon and evening matches, which is a rarity in this game.

It'll also be a realistic challenge to try and guide them back to their glory years. They certainly have the support and stadium.
