PES 2012 Football Life thread

Hull City my club of Choice, plenty going forward however only 4 registered defenders means Palmieri and Voichulerd are both promoted straight into the starting XI while Shimizu goes into the RM slot of a midfield including Kilbane and Koren with Stewart out on the Left, McLean and Fryatt make up the starting front line.. the opening Friendly vs Fenerbache, with the Tigers defending wholey brilliantly and two well taken goals from Mclean means a 2-0 win!

Npower Championship Fixture 1:
Cardiff City vs Hull City
Poor defending on the wing early in the first half from Rosenior allows Whittingham to swing a crss in which was dully headed home by Gestede
It looked as though Hull would lose this one as the game ticked away with no real action, until the broke to Koren from a Cardiff corner, his long hopeful thrugh ball found Mclean who added his first league goal to the duo he grabbed in the Friendly.
Cardiff City 1-1 Hull City

Npower Championship Fixture 2:
Burnley vs Hull City
With Fryatt, Shimizu and Kilbane all missing through poor form, Hull Fielded 3. Fresh faces in this one.
Garcia was flying on the right wing and his menacing crosses looked readily capable of creating goals, and within 15 minutes Hull found themselves 2-0 up, two clean headers from Mclean. Hull then found themselves caught in a spell of Burnley dominance which resulted in Ings scrapping one over the line, given the score an edgey 1-2 look at half time.
Hull fans needn't have worried however, as the striking genius of Mclean led to an early solo goal in the second half, before Koren laid the ball on for Stewart who beat his marker and fired into the top corner from the edge of the box.
The last 5 minutes saw Mclean grab a 4th, yes a FOURTH goal, a nice R2 shot into the corner before Burnelys Austin Grabbed a Conselation.
Burnley 2-5 Hull City

Npower Championship Fixture 3:
Hull City vs Nottingham Forest
Hulls first home game of the campaign became the first defeat as an early Forest goal saw them shut up shop and, try as Koren and Kilbane might, Hull couldnt find a exploitive gap and Mclean saw his only shot of the game fly high and wide.
Hull City 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Npower Championship Fixture 4:
Reading vs Hull City
Shimizu returns to his RM position as Garcia is droped to the bench as the only change in this Hull side, hoping to recover from their first defeat this year.
The opening exchanges saw Mclean looking dangerous with 2 on target in quick succesion, while partner Fratt narrowly blazes over, Shimizu and Koren controlled the attacking flow in the first half while the defence looked strong with Chester meeting all expectations early on.
The home side are lucky to reach half time level, as the Toothhless Tigers dont look like they have the bite to put their chances away, 5 Goal Mclean missing a further 3 chances in that hhalf!
Hull subs Brady and King are brought on in hope of adding extra power to the side, Fryatt and Shimizu make way.
Reading finally started to look more dangerous in the last 15 and a rare mistake from Dawson at LB nearly allows Le Fondre to score from a good Karacan cross.
Stewart was a virtual spectator in this one, his only real involvement consisting of a cross to noone.
Reading 0-0 Hull City

After 4 games The Tigers sit 10th of the table, a long way off Derby at the top who have won their opening 4 scoring 9 in the process while conceding an average of 1 a game, at the other end,Leeds find themselves bottom after a winless start, losing 3 and drawing 1 the club has scored only 2 and conceded 9.

So Hull City resume their league duties today, in fixture 5 of the championship.
Npower Championship Fixture 5:
Ipswich Town vs Hull City
No real surprises, an early headed goal for Ipswich cancelled out by Fryatts first goal this campaign.
Ipswich 1-1 Hull City

Npower Championship Fixture 6:
Hull City (pos.9) vs West Ham United (pos.2)
Hull City: (GK) Mannone; (Defence) Dawson Palmieri Chester (C) Rosenior; (Midfield) Stewart McKenna Cairney Shimizu; (Attack) Mclean Fryatt.
West Ham United: (GK) Green; (Defence) McCartney Demel W.Reid Joey O'brien; (Midfield) Lansbury Nolan A.Faye (C) Bentley; (Attack) Sears Vaz Te.

Hull are without midfield duo Kilbane and Koren after Internationals mid-week while Shimizu is dropped following a poor display at Ipswich, West Ham Come in to this game following a victory over Derby, the only club to take popints from the Rams this year.
West Ham United where at the races right from the start, and a early goal for Vaz Te is ruled offside, Hull are looking worried.
First chance for Hull falls to Mclean, who hasnt scored since the 2nd game this year, forcing an early save from Green.
Mannone needs Chester to save him midway through the half after being caught out from a Nolan long ball the centre back clears for a corner.
And from the corner Vaz Te boooms a header in off the bar, slack work from Palmieri who lost the man.
The last Hull chance of the first half falls to Mclean, who strikes straight at the keeper, the lad looks shot of confidence and may need a game to recover.
Palmieri finds himself in the books at the start of the second, as a poor challenge on Nolan is to the displeasure of the ref.
Hull find themselves 2 down mid way through the second half as Mannon fails to deal with a long strike, Sears on hand to nod home the keepers flimsy push.
A defensive switch by the Hammers means that a Hull side who havent looked threatening must go for broke in an attempt to find something, the manger opting to go 3-4-3 for the last half hour, King on for Rosenior to make trio up top.
The formation switch certainly made Hull look more dangerous howver, Fryatts failure to convert a header signalled the end of the game and Hull lose again.
Hull City 0-2 West Ham United.

Okay so my match reports are going to become much less detailed now, for i want to get on with the games :)

Npower Championship Fixture 7:
Hull City 1-1 Southampton
Garcia

FA Cup Round 1:
Hull City 0-1 Birminham City

Npower Championship Fixture 8:
Blackpool 0-1 Hull City
Mclean droped for the first time, after failing to score in 6 prior games.
King scores to keep Mclean out for another game at least.

Npower Championship Fixture 9:
Hull City 1-1 Leicester City
Shimizu heads home a low King cross
*TRANSFER NEWS* McKenna sold to Ipswich for £117,000; the 34 year old CMF has played only once this year, and isnt considered a key player and so has penned a 2 year deal with his new club.
*INJURY NEWS* Chester out 2 weeks
Npower Championship Fixture 10:
Hull City 0-3 Crystal Palace
Hobbs comes in for the injured Chester, and King gets a 3rd game up top alongside the returning Mclean

So 10 games in and Hull City find themselves 12th, West Ham United top the table while Leeds have failed to move from the basement, managing just 1 win in 10.

Err is this game f'ked or what lol!!

After my first season with Liverpool I finished 3rd to which my Chairman was delighted.

I then sold off some chaff, Downing, Rodriguez, Carroll, Spearing, Carragher, Skrtel etc and brought in stars like Cassano who was unhappy, Ronaldhino, two new young CB's, Van der Vaart etc.

Second game of the season I'm told it's a must win game or I'll lose my job - to which I lost a scripted game lol.

Five of my first team were suddenly blue or purple, and I threw everything but the kitchen sink at Wolves, but lose 1-0.

So....that's it lol.

Game over, after I bring in all these players and look forward to a new season this is what happens. Lovely.

They havent implemented the football life thing very well. For stuff like this I would think its acceptable to save the game before the match and make sure you win

Actually, it's totally my fault Chimps, this is brilliant!!

And on a side note the guy in the boardroom did warn me to save the game, so well done there too!

I massively f'ked up on the accounts, even though I balanced the books with transfer fees the wages for the new players AND the forthcoming years incomings and outgoings were not accounted for....thus my Chairman it seems who was happy with me finishing in the top four and having a boat load of money was less than happy with me having a star studded side and losing him his money.

Chairman's confidence plummeted as did the fans for some reason.

Anyway, the projected earnings for the next year was -92million....oooopppss.....Maths was never my strong point but it looks like I've done a Nick Leeson here :)

Well done KONAMI, I've learned my lesson, and I'll start from scratch!

PS It would have been good mind if other job offers had come in, but hey, you win some you lose some!

I did exactly the same thing, the only difference is that I was in my first season and got sacked after about 8 games with Bolton..... :CONFUSE:

Nice to see you back by the way Taylor ;)

See, this is why I want us to be able to move clubs in ML. Game over is just wrong. Fire me and I'm out looking for a new club. "I'm told it's a must win game or I'll lose my job" then a game over feels like a mafia thing with you ending up sleeping with the fish.

It's not quite that harsh Lami, you get at least 3-4 warnings and chances to turn it around. The Chairman has less patience though when you literally bankrupt his club. Can you blame him ? CC just finished 3rd, then sold a decent chunk of the team and ended up £91 million in debt. If I was the Chairman, I'd have fucking shot him, never mind fired him.......

Hahaha! Yes I agree with that, but I much prefer continuing my career as a manager with shit reputation making all the headlines (and not for the good reasons) then see what kind of club would want to take my aboard :)

Yeah it was quite funny...lol

I was like WTF at first, slagging the game off and dissing everyone for bringing in brilliance like Ronaldhino and Cassano.....then it dawned on me that I plunged Liverpool into the dark ages for the next 100 years lol....nice.

Ouch, that's really harsh way to learn that you have to pay the wages for the previous season and infrastructure costs just one day before new season starts.

Into my 2nd season as Liverpool. Top of the Premier League after 7 games and still in the FA, plus 2nd in my UEFA Champions League group. Chairman isn't happy with the way i'm running the club as a few transfers took the team into debt. I've learn't my lesson to always keep an eye on the expected earnings. It's touch and go whether i'll get through this 2nd season, and to get the chairman's trust back i've really got to win the UEFA Champions League.

So Hull return to action. In Npower Championship Fixture 11:
Hull City 1-3 Middlesborough
(Sure this result will please you Jimmy!)
King with the Hull goal today

Npower Championship Fixture 12:
Portsmouth 2-0 Hull City
Thats 3 defeats on the trot, and 4 games since the last Hull win, Mclean who looked so good at the start of the year has failed to score in 12 games, not looking good for the Tigers

Npower Championship Fixture 13:
Hull City 0-3 Birmingham City
Its runs like this that cost managers jobs, and though the chairman has remained silent, i fear the axe may fall one day soon! If i make it too January i believe a striker capable of scoring will be my first buy..
Rosenior suffers 2 week injury!

Npower Championship Fixture 14:
Brighton 2-0 Hull City
Defeat leaves Hull a place above bottom but only 1 point, Gulasci joins the injury list along with Kilbane and Rosenior, Messi is announced as player of the year

Npower Championship Fixture 15:
Watford 3-1 Hull City
Mclean gets his first goal since his 4 at Burnley as Hull crash again!

Ouch, just checked my Chairman backing, its at 22%.. cant help but feel a little nervous now *gulps*

Npowe Championship Fixture 16:
Hull City 1-1 Derby
A point at last! Chester notching the gal from CB

*TRANSFER NEWS* Devitt sold for £2.9m to PAOK

Npower Championship Fixture 17:
Hull City 1-1
Shimizu scoresto gain a point, leaving us joint bottom

Transfer window opens!
Kilbane refuses a new deal, and so is transfer listed to avoid a free transfer
Garcia leaves for 400k to VVV venlo
Well, failed bids for essentially every striker possible so far.. and we play Cardiff in Fixture 18 of the Npower Championship.. the game ends 1-0 to Cardiff

More failed bids, and wego into Burnley fixture looking tired..and get a 2-2 Draw,King and Shimizu in with gals

So the transfer winsow ends, frustratingly noone wants to join Hullright now.
Fixture 20:
Nottingham Forest 3-1 Hull City
Fryatt scores in another dissapointing result for Hull.. and the Chairmens backing is at a massive low of 20% though there has been no warning so far, which is strange, when i was Peterborough i was out a lot quicker than this?

Fixture 21:
Hull City 1-2 Reading
Dawson with the gaol...
I noticed that as the results got more frustrating i started typing less and less!
Fixture 22: Hull City 1-1 Ipswich
King gets the goal, as the chairmens Backing drops to 18% and the fan club at a base low of 10,600 members! By this stage ive given up caring, sorry guys.. simming to see if i can getfired, noticed i have the Club Management turned on this time, different to the other careers i played..
So despite a shit run so far, all the chaimen has requested is no bookings.. seems impossible to get fired on this settings (unless anyones done different?)

Okay so end f season and the chairmen told me to keep up the good work, despite finishing bottomwith 18 points, and 80 goals conceded.. and the managers backing hitting 8%.. im wondering how far i can go before the axe will fall!

Right so for anyon who is interested, it seems you can only get fired on the settings i mentioned if you hit 0% or get bankrupted ( i played both scenarios out).. so tomorrow istart again, with no control of Club management and see what occurs

Whilst I'm still running away with the 2nd division title (1st season) with my Rodos team, I have hit a bit of a sticky patch. After a slight long break from the game managed to slip up in the 3 league games and then crashed out the cup quarters to Besiktas. :( Managed to win my last league game though, so hopefully a bit on the up side.

Bummer, as I have previously managed to win the cup and get into Europa League, but that's not gonna happen now.

My players are getting a lot of the bad form arrows (purple/blue), especially a lot of my better players, but think I'm playing so badly with fit players that there's probably not much point dropping my better players who have the bad form arrows.

A recent mini-crisis at the Riverside saw Boro lose 4 games in a row and drop to 2nd place in the Championship, level on points with Blackburn, but with inferior goal-difference. It will come as no suprise to learn, Boro's severe dip in form coincided with short-term injuries to both Giroud and Emnes, 4 weeks and 3 weeks repectively. With the loss of their two star-players, confidence hit rock-bottom after a string of narrow defeats was compounded by a 4-1 thumping by Cardiff.

With the pressure on to turn their season back around, Boro then entertained Brighton at the Riverside with both Emnes and Giroud recalled to the starting line-up. After a full week of training Condition, the tactic paid off, as Giroud walked out at the Riverside on a Red, with both the fans, manager and his team-mates looking for some inspiration. The mere presence of Giroud seemed to give Boro a huge confidence injection from the get-go. It didnt take long for Boro to draw first blood, when new signings Dicker, and left-winger and Petrov replacement- Vicente, combined to give the Boro fans something to cheer about. A simple pass inside from Dicker was taken beautifully with R2, a subtle shot/fake drew the last-gasp challenge from the Brighton CB, and Vicente used that moment to fire an almost clear shot into the top corner (R2). 1-0 Boro.

Giroud then showed his class, as he stepped up and bent a free-kick into the far corner (Floater with bend and dip) to show the crowd just what they had been missing. Giroud then doubled his tally after a throughball was taken beautifully with R2 and direction to get it away from his marker. His strength then held off the Brighton back-line, and his cute finish over the advancing keeper had world-class stamped all over it. 3-0 Boro. Giroud then completed his hat-trick with a stunning long-range low drive into the bottom-corner. 4-0 Boro. And trust me, Hat-Trick's don't come much better than that. But that wasn't it, Emnes made it five on the day with a powerful header off a Bouhours whipped in cross.

YouTube - Boro 5-0 Brighton

That result took Boro back to the top of the Championship, and gave their fans hope that Promotion was still a very distinct possibility.........

Trying again with Hull, I've played 14 games so far... just have to say what a pair of players taka and Dernis have been! Costing a combined fee about of £1.2million! Best buys i have made if im honest.. Utaka has 11 goals in 14 games, and Dernis is averaging a rating of 7 so far.. excellent players :)

Heres a small breakdwn of the year so far:
Blackpool (who Hull got an impressive point against in fixture 14) and Crystal Palace (who beat us 2-0 in fixture 1) are joint top on 33 points
Hull are placing 9th at the moment with 17 points, 4 wins, 5 draws and losses..
Utaka leads the goals scored in the league with 10 (his 11thwas in the cup, which we lost 2-1 to Aston Villa) while Kilbane leads the league for assists with 5, the Irish lad has been injured for the past 3 weeks though
And our next game is against Boro who currently lie 8th in the table, a win would take us within a point over taking them..

wow, Jimmy how many has Giroud got now?! And how much would he cost? Just sold Devitt for £3.8million and Atkinson for £3.4m.. not bad for a couple of squad players

I'm not sure to be honest bud, but I'll check tonight and let you know. He certainly has been the difference this year, and he seems to bring everything together. I got him on a Free Transfer, so not sure how much he would be worth. To me though, he is priceless.

I had Utaka and Dernis (for 3 seasons on loan), both cracking players to be honest. I have a real soft spot for Dernis. :)

Just checked him out, doesnt look like he will cost to much, with a market Value of £281k.. normally leads to a transfer value of around £1-2m.. but he is in the last year of his deal so going to wait till end of year and see what happens, he's another Montepelliar player to add to the growing collection at Hull!

Oh, and just played the Boro game.. swept them off the pitch, Utaka failed to score but Fryatt(2) and Koren got me a 3-0 win.. with all the hype on Utaka though i hadn't noticed that Fryatt is now on 7 for the year not bad for a player who i dont remember scoring in my previous dismal attempt at FL!

Great stuff bud, it's weird how confidence breeds confidence in this PES just like real-life. I go into every game almost fearing the worst, knowing I have a job to do, to get anything out of the game. I have never felt like that playing any PES before, as there were go-to moves that could get you goals. Not now, or at least, not on Zero Assistance. You earn everything.

What is Girouds Overall Rating when you checked him out ? He is 83 on mine after 5 seasons.

Edit - Are you still playing 10 minute games by the way ? If you are, I'd seriously considering changing to at least 15 minute matches, it's so much more balanced that way. And at the end of the day, I know you like to progress quickly, but really ? what's the rush ?

I know what you mean, in so many games this year i've scored a goal and felt like celebrating as if it was real life.. sometimes even feeling like i've forgotten its just a game! Its a feeling i havent felt before on PES because after a few years in ML on previous gammes, it just felt like going throught the motions of playing the games and knowing which ones would be easy wins and others which you would lose this year, despite a few flaws has brought something new which weirdly is more realistic, and certainly worth more than the problems everyone bangs n about..

Giroud is 79* as it stands, tried to sign him but negotiations failed.. he signed a new deal with Montepelliar

I was thinking about moving up to 15 minute games, just stuck in 10 cause its on my settings, going to go 15 for the remainder of the year

Spot on, and that's how it should be, scoring goals should be anything but easy, you should earn the right to not only score, but also create the chance. This is how real football is, and the reason teams are prepared to gamble, break the bank, and spend tens of millions to buy a player capable of sticking the ball in the back of the net.

15 minute games (minimum) are only way to play PES and more so this PES in my opinion. It not only makes the CPU more balanced and less frenetic, but it also gives you more time to be composed in your play. The reason for this is that your not trying to force the play, your not worried as much about the clock ticking down, which promotes the composure required to break teams down in a proper more realistic fashion.

Do you guys notice any difference when trying to sign a player who is, let's say, in the first and in the last year of his contract? It's easier? Cheaper?

I know you waited to see if he would put his contract on hold but that came to my mind anyway :P

#1 Game play its okay, not east to mark AI
#2Not easy to jst dribble
#3The Whole out look is great
# I Play FL(football life) and everythn der is fine...except what's wrong with transfers? U cnt sign any1 big hey...only players frm othr or free agents...is the something wrong on my part!????

If u gt any question abt anythng ask me I've played over 4 seasons hey...:)

:) lol always check ur finance, well I've played 4 seasons n I wnt to start over coz I jst realized I won't be able to buy players I want its sad really:( well coz I sold most my good players....

The campaign is now over ..........

Giroud finished the season with 45 goals in 34 games !! :WOOT:

He also claimed the Top Scorer and Player of the Season Award......... :WOOT:

More to follow ..........

Thats incredible!
Do you keep an eye on any other teams goalscorers, i check mine regularly.. Ibrahimovic and Drogba each have 41 goals in 40 game

Just finished my first season, a shit finish too the year (Dernis and Utaka both got injured for the final 5, which we lost, as many players got blue and purples, poor form tok over and confidence was shot) placing 15th in the league.. Utaka stoll managed 19 league goals. And 20 for the year including the one in the FA cup making it 20goals in 26 appearances for the lad

In transfer news, well the club secured 4 freebies who are sure too make a difference: Rodallega will partner Utaka upfront in the coming season, while dernis will be a bench player this year as M.Petrov joins on the left hand side of the midfield and Carlos Martins comes into the middle for Koren, while Daa Silva replaces the young Palmieri in Centre Back
