PES 2012 Football Life thread

I agree guys, why do KONAMI take out all the cool stuff.

I may be dreaming this, but on PES 5/6 didn't you have detailed break downs of all goals scored and from what angles etc. Didn't you have running goal tallies and world rankings and shit. And wasn't the more post game data that you could shake a stick it...where's that all gone!?!? Damn you KONAMI.

Okay, I just got this. I'm a FIFA player so how should I be approaching this game? How will I succeed in BAL & what settings should I be using? I've got the PESVN Patch downloaded & installed which has Jenky's 5.0 gameplay or something?

Anyway, any comments will help :)

You should consider reading all of the posts that have been written from day one. Much good has been said. I would say it might take you an hour or two, which would save you the five weeks of grief by just playing the game. In other words, don't just "play the game."

Good news and bad news ........

The good news is that Giroud has continued his ridiculous scoring feat of netting in every game he has played, and is currently on 18 goals in 13 games. :WOOT:

The bad news is that Boro lost their first game of the season, 2-3 at home to Notts Forest (of all bloody teams). It was actually our 13th fixture of the season, so unlucky for some ? Yes it was. Forest had took the lead before Giroud placed one into the far corner from 25 yards plus, to level it. Boro then took the lead after some brilliant link-up play between Emnes and Giroud sent the dynamic Frenchman through to slot one wide of the Forest keeper.

All was going swimmingly, the Boro manager was strutting his stuff along the touchline like Billy Bigcock, and then Forest not only equalised with less than 5 minutes to play, but then also took all 3 points hitting Boro on the counter in stoppage time. Talk about being pulled down a peg or two.

Rewind a little before that infamous '13th Fixture', and Boro had beat Leeds at home 1-0. The game had been super-tight and physical, and it looked like it would end honours even, but a last minute Giroud thunderbolt from 30 yards gave Boro all the points, and once again left the Boro fans breathless in disbelief of their new messiah.

Boro then beat Burnley away 2-0 with what was a very weakened side. With Petrov, Martins, Emnes, Bates and Wellens all out, Boro fielded alot of youngsters who did both themselves and the club proud. Riberio scored first from a headed corner, then Giroud made it two with a carbon copy of Riberio's goal.

Boro are currently top of the Championship, four points clear of Blackburn and without question, the team to beat.... :SMUG:

So after the Notts Forest defeat, Boro were looking to bounce back in style in their next fixture as they entertained Wigan at the Riverside. Unforunately, that didn't go quite to plan either, as Boro suffered their 2nd defeat of the season, 2-1. Wigan had taken an early lead after some nice build-up play saw them slip in their CF who buried one into the far corner. Boro then equalised late into the 2nd half when Emnes was chopped down from behind in the Wigan box, and Giroud stepped up and slotted the subsequent spot-kick into the bottom corner. 1-1. A bizarre goal then won it for Wigan in the dying minutes. A very long ball over the top was going no-where, Steele came way out of his box to intercept it, but his first-touch was as subtle as a rapists, and the Wigan CF dispossessed him and rolled one into an empty net. :CONFUSE:

After back-to-back losses, the last thing Boro wanted was a trip to Ewood Park against the toughest side in the Championship. But that's where they were heading, and without the injured Petrov and Emnes.

Oh dear, oh dear. :(

With Petrov and Emnes carrying knocks, Riberio and new Youth signing Richutti (sp) were added to the starting 11. Richutti(sp) had made a couple of cameo sub appearances and impressed. The little, and I mean little, Italian, owns the Box-to-Box Card, and is very comfortable on the ball. He has never been asked a lot of questions, and does the simple stuff well, but this was a big ask for him against Premiership quality opposition. Although you would have never have known it, as the little Italian popped up on the edge of the area 5 minutes into his full debut to bend a beauty into the top far corner to make it 1-0 to the visitors. In a real end-to-end thriller, his goal turned out to be the decider as Boro took all the points in what was technically a top-of-the-table '6-pointer'.

With confidence levels back to sky-high after their away win at Championship rivals Blackburn, Boro hosted a tidy Hull outfit at the Riverside. This was a special game, with some very special goals. With star-striker Giroud's astonishing run of scoring in every game coming to an end at Ewood Park, he was keen to get back on track, and how. It didnt take him long. After a thunderous drive from Martins was parried wide, a defensive blunder from the Hull CB let in Emnes who swung one in for Giroud to head home. 1-0 Boro. Emnes then made it two-nil with an audacious chip from long-range. A ball over the top was controlled beautifully with an R2 first-touch to bring it onto the Emnes left-peg. He then quickly spotted the Hull keeper off his line, and a stunning improvised lob left the Hull keeper in no-mans-land. 2-0 Boro.

With Boro dominating all over the park, and looking like a side more than capable of taking the title, Giroud then produced yet another moment of magic. A long-range freekick was asking a lot, but Giroud made it look ridiculously easy with an incredible strike (Push Up, bend and dip) into the far top-corner. The game ended 3-0, and the Boro fans left the stadium feeling higher than a Giraffe on stilts.

Nice update as usual Jimmy, and WHAT A GOAL by Emnes.

What's happened to Carlos Martins by the way? Has Giroud stolen all his thunder? A bit like the RvP syndrome at Arsenal, hardly anyone else scores because they just want to get the ball to him all the time.

I should be back posting regularly soon. My gaming laptop broke a few months back and have only just ordered a new one. First month or so was ok but have had serious withdrawal symptoms recently.

This is how I play:

gamespeed -2
all assist off
professional difficulty

Also, hit the training ground first to get used to everything. Jumping straight into matches will frustrate you.

He is still there, still Captain, but I have him doing a more disciplined job these days. He is in the twilight of his career, so I'm not putting all the focus on him like I did when he first arrived. He still pops up with the odd screamer, but he was always a long-range merchant, and I prefer to use him now to slip in Giroud or Emnes, as they are the more deadly finishers. If anything, Giroud has probably taken pressure off Martins, there was always a lot of weight of expectation on that mans shoulders.

At 36 next year, I was thinking of moving him on at the end of the season, and maybe look at Luis Aguiar if I get promotion. I will probably end up keeping Carlos though as a part-player, it will be hard to let him go, and he still has that shot and pass in his locker. ;)

Edit - That Emnes goal had a real Matt Le Tissier feel about it, reminded me a little of his goal against Blackburn.

Next up for high-flying Boro were Leicester City at the Riverside. Leicester, unlike Blackburn, prefer to try and stifle your play, and always sit deep which poses many problems when attempting to break them down. Boro know exactly what to expect with Leicester, and this fixture was no different. Leicester took the lead after 20 mins, a mix-up in the box was pounced upon, and their striker made no mistake in feeding off the scraps and smashing one into the bottom corner from close range. Boro then eqaulised early in the second half, when an Emnes pass found Giroud, his turn-and-swivel shot found the bottom-bag with ease. 1-1. Giroud then made it 2-1 after a vicious left-foot, first time strike from the edge of the area gave the keeper no chance. With Boro looking at another 3 points, complacency got the better of them. A threaded through-ball ripped open the Boro defence, and the finish from the Leicester CF matched every bit of the class of the pass. The game ended 2-2, but it was two points dropped for sure.

Next up was Ipswich Town at Portman Road, another fixture that historically, Boro have struggled with. Ipswich took the lead, when yet another defensive mix-up handed them an opportunity on a plate. Chopra fed Ball, 1-0. Boro then once again equalised, a pass from Carlos Martins looked to have too much legs on it, but Giroud chased it down, and managed to get his toe on it and lift it over the advancing keeper. 1-1. Giroud then doubled his tally for the day with what I can only describe as a truly world-class finish. Martins once again was the provider, his chipped-ball over the top was met by Giroud, his double R2 turn, initially took him away from the defence, then beautifully slipped himself in between the two Ispwich CB's. Another touch to take him clear was then followed by an improvised fake-shot to force the keeper to commit, (faked with the left peg, dinked with the right )then an immediate dink over the top of the hapless Ipswich No.1. A truly stunning goal this in my opinion, I love everything that is technically correct about it. It's the kind of instinctive, composed finish that makes me love this game so much, and it's relevance is superb. I think as a player in real-life, from that position, that's what you would look for in that restricted space. It wasn't an easy button-combination press, but it worked fluidly and the end result was perfectly replicated. Class.

Ipswich then threw everyone forward, and a non-tracked run was found by a brilliant cross, and the header that matched drew Ipswich level with less than 10 minutes to play. With only 5 minutes remaining, Boro won a corner. Boro then switched to a 4-2-4 formation and brought on Riberio for his aerial threat. Petrov whipped in the corner, and with his first-touch, Riberio made it 3-2 Boro. The visitors then shut-up-shop completely with a 5-4-1 formation and took all 3 points with it.

Giroud is fucking brilliant. Period.

Also, as I was checking the Negotiations in Progress after the game, I noticed that Petrov had put his contract talks on hold. At 36 years old, and the fear of losing him on a Bosman at the end of the season, I immediately transfer-listed him. Roma, who had been watching him, then offered £1.8 million, so off he went. I really liked Petrov, but no man is bigger than the club, and at his age, he had to go.

Nice stuff Jimmy G!!!
With my squad starting to take shape now, and better quality players being brought in, I transfer listed Anthony Stokes, my long serving Talismanic CF as he's now 32 and probably 4th or 5th chocie striker, am yet to receive any bids for him and he has put contract talks on hold so is likely he'll go on a free.

I finished 5th in the Premiership, but was handed a Champions League qualifying round match due to Chelsea, who finished 4th, winning the Champions League. I won that qualifying match against Ajax to earn a Champions League proper place, in Group G alongside Besiktas, Athletico Madrid and Bayern Munich.

I signed 2 new players pre-season, Benteke, an 82OVR rated strong powerful CF, and Badu, an 86OVR versatile box to box midfield enforcer, both of them proving excellent additions, with Benteke scoring in every game so far.

with 3million coming in for every home CL match and 1.2million for every home Premier league game, the finances are looking rosy, and should have around 30million to spend next pre-season.

Have won 1 and lost 1 of my opening 2 games in the Champs League, and have drawn a few games and am sat a dissapointing 9th in the Premier League so far.

Giroud Messi in disguise?? ;-)

Things are picking up min my Master league, my Custom Milton keynes Fc Team are sat 8th In the Premi, just a few points outside European places although top 4 has to be priority as we are in the Champions League this seasona nd the hefty money earned from that will need to be maintained in order to pay staff and player wages.

First up in last nights session was a Trip to parkhead to face celtic, the first half was the Louis Saha show, a first half hat-trick ensured we took all 3 points.

YouTube - Saha 1st half hat trick

Next up was a first round FA Cup tie against lower league FC Copenhagen, inconveniently coming after an international fixture so i was without 8 first team players due to fatigue.
We did none of the good things we did against Celtic and ended up losing 1-0 to an 89th Min winner, and knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle.

Spurs came next. They went 1-0 up completely against the run of play, we continued to dominate and this paid off with a Benteke Equaliser to earn his 7th goal in 9 games since signing, we then grabbed another to win 2-1.

YouTube - Benteke goal vs Spurs

Last up was Boca Jnrs, and a convincing 3-1 vitory here too with Veteran forward Arizmendi grabbing the best of the 3 goals with a side on volley:

YouTube - Arizmendi volley

Tonights session will see us play Besiktas in the champions league group stage, a win is essential to keep pace with leaders Athletico Madrid.

LOL what the?!

Tell me about it, the guy is an absolute freak, but man is he loved and worshipped at the Riverside. :)

So, a little recap....

Boro entertained 3rd placed Southampton next up, and to be honest, Giroud was on a Blue, and he didnt really perform in that one. In fact, the whole team just didnt turn up, and Boro lost their 3rd game of the season 1-0.

Derby hosted Boro next at the Baseball Ground, and this was a game that both sets of fans will remember till the day they die. Derby took an early lead, and with Giroud on only his second Blue of his Boro career, things looked a little ominous after he had spurned a couple of early chances. Then that all changed in a heartbeat. A corner from Wellens (R3) was headed home from Giroud. 1-1. Boro then took the lead after a lovely R2 first-touch took Giroud away from his marker and onto his left-peg. Boom. 2-1 Boro. Giroud then made it a hat-trick within 30 minutes after a cross was swung in and he headed home from close-range. 3-1 Boro. Giroud wasnt finished yet, and stunning through-ball from Emnes was met and buried into the bottom corner. 4-1 Boro.

With the game wide-open across the park Derby started their improbable fight-back. Two well worked goals within 5 minutes saw them bring it back to 4-3. That only seemed to anger Giroud, who produced a stunning dribble into the box and got brought down. Penalty. Giroud stepped up. 5-3 Boro. Derby then scored again in the craziest game I've ever seen. 5-4. Giroud then completed his double hat-trick with yet another placed left-footer into the corner. 6-4. And that's how it ended. The Highlights obviously dont show all the goals, but I did take a photo of Girouds 6 goal haul and his meagre 7.5 MOM Rating.

YouTube - Boro 6-4 Derby

YouTube - Giroud Penalty Dribble

Next up was Watford at the Riverside, this was once again all about Giroud who ran than show with a little help from Martins. Another two classic strikes from Giroud took all the points. The Highlights are excellent, they show just how much influence Giroud had on this game, including an early free-kick (Who needs Petrov ?) that smashed off the far post.

YouTube - Boro 2-0

8 goals in two games. Wow !! Are you kidding me ? :CONFUSE:

Love the little trap Weiss set for the first goal, brilliant timing that. Saha's 3rd was my favourite and I'm sure you can guess why. :)

Benteke is another lovely R2 finish and great feet on the edge of the box to fashion the chance. And that last side-foot volley looked very R2 as well, was it ?

Loving the videos by the way, keep 'em coming. :TU:

This game just keeps getting better and better for me, I'm ridiculously addicted, full blown. I need help. :CONFUSE:

I've never seen my or my opponent's players get above an 8 in ratings so I take 8 to mean 10. 7.5 would then obviously translate to 9.5 in my book. Much more reasonable rating for 6 goals I'm sure you'll agree.

I take it Giroud is way out in front of the top scorers list? What are his rating in the main striker relevant areas? attack, shot power and accuracy, jumping, heading etc

Yeah he is flying in Top Scorer charts, he is the most prolific finisher in the whole of Europe at the minute.

He has 85 for Shot Power and Shot Accuracy. 87 for Heading and 86 for Jump. 86 for Body Balance and 85 for Dribbling Accuracy. He is 83 for Top Speed and only really lacks in Responsivenes, but I barely see that because all his other stats are so high.

He is an excellent player, and I think I get the best out of him as I'm usually playing with strikers with a lot less ability. Once you can do well with lesser strikers, you then take the roof off when you get your hands on this type of player. :)

At the minute he just looks like the classic, 'Too much class for the division' type player. You see these all the time, whether in real-life playing the game, or simply watching it on T.V. These type of players stick out like a sore thumb, as they are head and shoulders about the level they are playing at. He is a one of those, a different class, and it shows.

Thanks mate. will keep em coming, ive learnt a few things from you and others through vids and narratives of matches that have influenced me to try things in games so if we can all share and learn then all good, and if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must be worth a million!

Girouds meagre rating for a 6 goal haul is unbelievable, those match ratings need amending. How would you ever get a 10!?!?

The Saha 3rd was my fave too, demonstrates the ability to pick out the very corner of the net if the situation is right.
Arizmendi's volley was a lofted through ball then R2 to shuffle into position to take the volley on.

Im now in my 10th ML season, the more i play and the better players i get, the deeper and more engrossing the game is for me.

I know in every ML you create your own team, but I have never felt like I have truly built a whole squad and philosophy like I have with this ML. Unlike most other ML's where I bring in no-name players and do a job with them, this isnt like that. I will need excellent players with unique traits to even begin to compete at the highest level. This job hasnt been the usual quick-fix, this has been an ongoing process rebuilt from the bottom,up.

This whole Zero Assistance thing has took this series to a completely different level, with a totally new philosophy that requires strict adherence to all the basic fundamentals. This is how football games should be replicated, in my opinion.

I played on zero assistance for a good 6 seasons but felt it wasnt quite right, too inconsistent so have notched it up to 1 bar pass assists, for me personally this is just about right, although first time passes are a little hit and miss.
I wish we had a more scope in freedom for crosses though, being able to put the ball in space to run on to is impossible with the current 'guided' crossing system.

Jimmy - look out for a RB called Seiteridis, he'll either come up through the youths or you may get him on a free, i promoted him at 16yrs old and know, 4 seasons later hes rated 94OVR and i have just rejected a 10.5million bid for him!

Okay, how in the fuck do I get a better match rating than 6.0/6.5?! Last game I had two assists, tracked back & won challenges & barely misplaced a pass and I got 6.5 :CONFUSE:

Playing on the PC.

 What the fuck. I got subbed on after 60 minutes. 72nd minute I'm subbed off. I didn't touch the ball! :CONFUSE:

Haha you must have had a stinker :P

In terms of ratings...they aren't very generous usually but I think you really need to follow the coache's instructions. Scoring goals and providing assists might seem like a good thing but if the coach has told you "get the ball down the left hand side to a certain player", then he will be happy if you do that.

Assume your playing BAL? Match ratings are crap, Jimmy's player Giroud scored 6 in one match and got a 7 or something silly.

Wow, good to read Boro are still firing Jimmy! Sorry for my lack of involvement on this thread had a series of events which just meant i havent played consistantly but i just downloaded the March update and hope to get back into ML tonight, new game data so hope to keep you updated, but with school i might fal behind again :)

Excellent shout by the Meister Jimmy for Giroud. Looks like he's doing the business big time. Going to start an ML with West Brom later this week.
I'll keep you guys posted on here once I get going. In the meantime hope you all enjoy your football and best of luck.
