Yeah, I find that when I get pissed off and go into "gaming mode" rather than "football mode" to desperately try and score goals against these idiots, I actually play A LOT worse!

It's just that some people are actually good at playing this shitty football (although I hate to admit it, they are skilled gamers), and as with practcally every other football game;
Skilled stupid unrealistic football > Skilled proper football.
 
Ok fuck off Konami, competitions are still fucked.

I play 5 games in the D4 cup, I win 3, draw 1 and lose 1.

Apparently 2 wins and 1 loss are my 'best 3 results'.

Absolute shambles
 
Klashman when I played Sunderland and Arsenal they fielded the first team, Bent, Gyan, Campbell, Fabregas, Arshavin, Van Persie... The lot of them. When the Sunderland team sheet was displayed with all their rankings I thought I was gonna get spanked but the game was just as easy as the rest. Arsenal were a little trickier to start with, especially Arshavin but once I got used to the speed of their movement I started to dominate possession and I really should of got an equilizer but Dodo ran away from a beautiul Gierson ball over the top that would off put him 1 on 1.
I have alwys found the Ai quite easy to beat, used to get undefeated seasons on 6 stars back in PES5. I just used to find it hard intially until I bought a few players but in 2011 they are supplied at the start from the youth setup. Shimzu is awesome and I play everything through him, he scores from 30 yards for fun and his passing is superb, without him and the 2 CBs I dont think I would win or draw soo many games.

Pere I try to play as realistic as possible, my ffavorite teams to watch are Arsenal, Barca & Spain and I try to emulate that type of football. On the occasion that I get to play someone who plays proper football in the MLO I get complimented on my play.
The problem is that I dont think the AI has been brought up to date or is just not good enough to cope with the manual passing, getting behind the defense is pretty easy if you wait and pick your passes. also scoring seems a little easier than I remember it in past games.
 
Anybody know a good program that makes it possible to link mp3's into 1 file, so I can add say 7 seperate chants and paste them into 1 file?

Just as i thought, your just very good! and Konami have made it a little easier with these wonderkids also (Palermi etc..) Remember no CPU in games are smart enough to out think human beings! The AI is brilliant and they do keep you guessing and balance the football well! Just if you play enough and get your team following your philosophy you will succeed like you should!

BTW on PES5 4 star was the hardest level for me (for some strange reason, found 5 star a bit easier! same with 6 stars, no idea why!!
 
Both signings Rudolf and Djemsav score in a 2-2 draw against a D4 side boasting Podolski and Gervinho. Came from behind twice, the equaliser at the end was so satisfying. As was the first, before I gave him the lead again with some poor defending. Played Dodo instead of long name man this time and he did well.

TBH they are quite simple to beat, just put your foot on the ball, play it to your playmaker and wait for there defence to part ways.

I like how on this game when your teams is being overrun, you just hold R2, slow it down the play it around to kill his momentum! Doesn't work with every team though
 
Very happy as I officially got the whole OF working today. I will never understand why the Euro OF is the one that's working considering i have BLES -20 but... I guess as long as it's working I wont ask questions.

One of the things I was most impressed about from demo to full version of the game was the increased difficulty on top player which was completely unexpected. I played a good mix of games in the demo using both Bayern and Barca and never got beat on possession, ever. But in my first game Man Utd vs Inter I got thumped 3-0 and beat on possession! Was very happy to see it (even though I got bludgeoned) and I'm looking forward to a good challenge in Master League.. my first one in 3-4 odd years?

They are not the most difficult people to score against, agreed, but their ridiculous passing is too hard to stop, unless there's some sort of technique for intercepting passes that I'm missing? (I'm using super cancel)
 
Barely have any problems from crosses really. It's just that almost everytime I defend one from a corner there's always someone waiting for it from the CPU team.

Yeah your moving players around too much, over complicating defending. Just hold the x button when they are close to you. they usually just run into you and you tackle them!

Most players really can't dribble properly :)

I used to have a similar issue with these guys but i simplified my defending to sort it out :)
 
in terms of master league offline, to get a real challenge you need to start as WE United etc and DON'T edit the team until you've started the game - that way you have lowest rated everything and no money...

I'll try moving my players less in future, thanks for the tip.

They hardly even run with the ball though these people, they just pass, pass, pass, pass, cutback and my players are watching the ball run over their toes without intercepting it, frustrating!
 
Already had the PC version for modding and I've just bought the 360 version to play online, but so far it's been horribly laggy, disappointing so far.

Just had an awful game against Argentina, the guy just played through ball after through ball past my defence to Messi and Aguero cutting in from the wings. I'm sure it was due to my tactics though, so I'll have to fix that.
 
Ok so I've decided to venture into the MLO this evening...

Just sorted out my team a little, got my formation and strategy sorted, which I'm sure will change quickly once I find it's useless.

Wish me luck... :D
 
Good luck mate.

How is everyone else getting quick money? Seems impossible to get loads of wonga on this without playing a million matches. The prize rewards for winning seems a bit pathetic especially as you pay about half of it just to play the match.

HATE how they keep having the ref in yellow when that's the same colour of my kit too.

What do you mean with dont' edit the team???

I thought the biggest challenge is to play with any team but with Minanda & co?
 
I think Competitions are the only way forward, if it's the same as the Beta anyway (which I'm pretty sure it is). Your best bet is to just play in the competitions as much as possible, use friendlies to tinker with your team and/or practice.

Just splashed out and bought Gattuso as my anchorman. I figure he should at least give me some bite in the defensive area's. €1.3million spent, not a match played yet. This could be a fun disaster. :D

It appears there's a 'bug' in this years Master league whereby you need to start with the WE or PES teams unchanged and the default players otherwise you start out with a highly ranked club and a ton of cash in the bank as well as your coaches etc already being levelled up to an extent.
People can start with the defaults but, if you're Villareal or Bolton etc your club, unlike previous years, will already have been invested in and will have a big pot of cash.
You can edit the default teams AFTER you've begun your ML

just pressing X isnt the best way to do this

try to push the stick towards the opp. player when ur thinkin its time to make a tackle while holdin X
i hold down R2 sometimes kinda more control

just pressing X is more of a run by delay defending, press X + stick towards ur goal is delay 2 defending where ur player covers the angle more and tries to dont let a pass/shoot come him by
 
Well I found out the problem with Gattuso... first match, 20 mins in and he gets Injured. haha.

Damn C rating, it was standing out to me when I was looking at buying him, but I figure what the hell, it's mostly one off games, what are the chances?! :LOL:

Thank you, very important piece of information. Now, the problem is to find a patch which doesn't replace PES United with a championship team (or any other 2nd division team from real life).
