PES 2011 Discussion thread

one thing, i only have the demo btw, for shots, is there any way to keep shots low other than using finesse/controlled shot like it was possible last-gen?

I think it's a test to see who has the mental strength and maturity to rise above such things. You need to practise more :P
 
Regarding online and the "an error has occured" message - are most people getting this at the moment?

My experience is that i got pes 2011 last friday. It played fine online until the dlc came out (think that may just be a coincidence). Since then i regularly get the "an error has occured" message.

Sometimes this results in me getting returned to the main menu sometimes it just carries on as if nothing was wrong.

It now takes an age to get to any online menu. Before if i chose online - quick match for example it would take 10-20 seconds before i had the option of 1v1 etc. Now it takes a couple of minutes.

I also regularly get the "an error has occured" message once my name and my opponents name are shown but before the team selection. Despite this it still continues to the actual game - it just takes ages to do it.

Strange thing is once the game starts it plays fine and lag free.

I have checked my internet connection which is fine - low ping and down/up is 8000/1300 so i know that is not the problem.

It is just very frustrating at the moment - my gaming time is limited and when i get a chance to play i don't want to be sitting around looking at bloody menus all night waiting for the game to start!!

I see others reporting similar problems - i tweeted to jon murphy about it but got no response. I am just trying to see how widespread the problem is and if there is any common theme amongst those having a problem or more to the point a common theme amongst those not having the problem.

After playing the Winning Eleven demo for nearly a month now I think I will be more than happy with the game if the graphics and gameplay are equal to that. Still suck at free kicks but it seems the better I get the better the game gets. An occasional problem with switching but I find my positioning errors are more the problem than ending up with the wrong defender. Can't wait to see the improvements these guys can make on 2012. After downloading 2010 2010WC and 2011 I can't see how anyone can prefer the other game. No comparison.:))

Unfortunately not, everyone in PEEL will be using the UK version or EU version, and I was under the impression the US title is compatible server wise, but I may be wrong.
 
Jimmy that link to the Champo OF does not work, I went into the PEEL forums to look for it myself and cant find anything. Has it been taken down?


Also just went into some FIFA forums to see how "the best football game of all time" is sitting with people after a couple of weeks.... And I thought PES had problems :LMAO: same old EA.

it's a disgrace.. but what can you expect if the final's between a POR/ITA player
they play the exact same online :/

my god.. i'm glad it isn't so easy in pes2011 to run past defenders by just holding R1

I have the same problems. Also, i can't seem to get in a competition. The game just throws me back to the main MLO screen after a few minutes of loading when selecting competitions. And since competitions are the only way to earn some decent amount of money in the game it's quite game breaking for me..

Yeah unfortunately I have watched it, it's horrible and a disgrace. I just hope Konami stick with this current system that eliminates the speed whores and cutback kings.
 
I was getting ready to start MLO again and then I saw that video. Did you see their team setup in the final? 4 CB's, 2 DMF's, 3 forwards, this is exactly the type of crap I see in MLO most of the time. I bet a tiny piece of seabass dies when he sees his game played like that.

You probably mean, 4 cb's, 2 dmf's and 4 forwards, people play this formation online since pes 5 times (when KONAMI provided servers to play online) and it sucks.
 
The game hasn't quite clicked for me yet (top player), but it's getting there. I started an Italian League with Parma and at the same time, tried to master manual crosses so that they would be a less reliable source of goals. I had little luck and mostly they were bad or just straight into the stands. I was struggling bigtime and before a Euro League game against Liverpool, decided to ditch the manual cross for now. To my surprise, even with the green zone bug, the crosses were not reliable and I now find the game much more balanced. I had a great last minute goal to draw against Liverpool as well. The following games have been hard as well and even though the ball has found it's way up the wings on numerous occasions, I haven't been able to use that to any significant advantage. I suspect this is in part because I'm using a team like Parma, but for now this is fine by me because I usually use teams like that when playing against the CPU.

I think I'll have a few more games with Parma before I start my ML campaign (offline).

Jimmy i can´t seem to find the EU Version of the option File.

Could you, or anyone please tell where can i download the EU version of the Option file of WENB, if there is one?

okay im gonna try an answr as many qestions as i can. firstly i have bles 01020 uk. i wll not be carrying on work with the euro version. the base copy idea is good guys but ive only just seen it now and ive already installed the dlc, but as far as appearances go mighty mag is the best there is so i have no worrys about that. not to sound like a grouch but could the promotion of other peoples option files be kept to their own thread (wenb) i love the guys over there but they have there own thread for that, but i will suggest you EU users use their european file. cant remember who asked but you can use any bundesliga or championship team in ML i had a brief go before i switched games. yes we will bed adding stadiums exactly which ones we're not sure yet. sorry if i missed any questions there were to many to quote.

okay and now for a little update, i finished the base file (in 2 days) thats every kit edited except iraq, kuwait, oman, qatar, syria, thailand, uae and uzbekistan this is due to me not being able to find their kits. all league cup logos etc....plus more but im fed up of typing lol when its done ill update the first post.

Ok guys! Work has begun on this years faces, I have done my beloved Toon Army first!!! then gonna start on updating the entire Premier League, followed by the NPower stars, & you all know how I love my talents & Wonderkids, so they'll all be back for 2011, aiming to smash my record of 465 faces in last years file, maybe could have been more? not sure...... expect the best as I usually deliver when it comes to faces, Im mega busy this time out as my BAL thread seems to have taken off, along with other bits & bobs i do here & there, Hope to be the top of the pile again for all the users, who played the GTM_JPR file last season,

While to some extent it can be enjoyable just passing around them, when they do manage to run into you and take the ball then play their 1 or 2 passes forward to their superstar striker and score it is annoying.
There is just no fun in it for me, very little variation in tactics and the tactics that are used are pathetic. People just want to win at all costs, I would rather have a decent game of football and lose.
It is ashame because when I do actually get to play someone who plays a decent game it is fun and it would greatly extend the lifespan of the game. As it is I am finding the ML against the CPU very easy and as a result boring and I think I might trade PES in for Gran Turismo when it finally comes out.

I find the crossing to be pretty difficult and the resulting goals from crosses in my experience is extremely low. I have maybe scored 3-4 goals off crosses in over 200 matches. What I have found is that this year everything in the game seems extremely specific, and the timing of the press for a volley or header needs to be exact. In previous years, just holding shoot as the ball was in the air guaranteed you connected, that isnt the case anymore. The amount of times I have completely mistimed a diving header is unbelievable, I still havent mastered that yet, and I'm not even making contact with the ball.

The same principles apply to tackling, also the issues we were having with the Scissor Kick. I very rarely see a Scissor Kick anymore as I wait for the ball to drop before I press shoot, which ensures the player volleys it, instead of performing a Hugo Sanchez impression.

I only just started playing MLO today and can't believe how similar your comments about the MLO are to how I came away feeling. I played 3 games, won 2 lost 1. Each game was against someone who had put wingers up front near the corner flags and just spammed through balls to them over and over in an attempts to get around my back and either cross the ball or cut back me.

The player switching just felt completely broken. Offline I don't have too much trouble but in MLO it was a horrible mess.

The amount of money you receive for a win seems pathetically small (which could be great and provide real longevity) but then you notice everyone around you already has a team of mostly big name players - it's just a mode full of exploiters trying to cheat their way to a win. It seems the only way to gain money is the competitions but if you can't get online when they're running ... you're basically being given a huge middle finger from konami with the money for a win.

I don't think konami did anything with our feedback from the beta because I can't see any differences.

Roll on a championship OF.

I never played 2010 online but my experience with 2011 is very similar to the video of 2010 posted, most people use those tactics but instead of forwards sprinting past defenders its defenders sprinting and catching the forwards.

I'm sure WENB still released the EU version as well as the UK version the day after. Have you checked over there ? If not try PESGaming, they have one there as well.

Glad im not the only one seeing this, was starting to think I was imagining it.

With regards to you team, assuming you want to keep playing the mode, go into the formation bit on the MLO menu then choose the squad sub menu, in here highlight your players and press X and you can release them and get money. If you cut your squad down to 16 players(minimum allowed) and buy 5 cheap players for under £10,000 you can build a very decent team. I have a tip for a Keeper, Keily, he isnt that cheap but if you sell off your 3 keepers you can get him, I think he is 1.5 million or around that and if I did not know hisstats I would swear that he is one of the best keepers in the game, his shot stopping is insane, makes double and triple saves ofen. He has kept me in games many, many times.
