PES 2011 Discussion thread

So, so sick of lag. My PS3 is the only thing using the net, it's in a DMZ, I forwarded the relevant ports just in case. I still get that fucking Error message, and it's still a nightmare getting games in MLO at all, let alone lag free ones.

I'm getting beaten by some really shot football simply because my players move half a second later.

What's Konami's support line? I might have to use it as the internet is full of people asking what the prolem is but with no solutions beyond that portforward.com site, so maybe this will break through.

Hey guys, what happened to the classic :square: + :x: trick where you fake a shot, it was great in pes 6 but in pes 11 the players don't do it, :square: fills the power bar and :x: simply cancels it, no trick is performed, am I doing something wrong?

Works for me. Are you using Kanu, or Andy Reid? I'd put the pad down and wait for a while, they'll lift a leg eventually

Does anyone actually know how to use the vision camera for 360? I understand you have to take pictures of the emblems, logos, etc, but how would I get them off my computer? Print them?

I've seriously no idea. Any help will be real appreciated.

? I've tried taking pictures out of an old sticker book I have but the lighting is dreadful.

Hmmm... So I've figured out that PES is not recognizing the files - basically if I go to load edit file the one that I copied over is just not there. But if I save a new one then it creates a separate edit file. If I group the files by name on my ps3, it puts files saved in-game in one folder, and the option file files elsewhere. Frustrating, no idea what's going on here.

I don't understand this, I have only had that message once and that was the day before the DLC when everything was running slow on the menus but fine in game. I feel your frustration, my PS3 would probably gave been punched to death by now.

I'm sure I read you need to delete the DLC then reinstall the option file and update, then install the DLC after. It's in the option file thread over at WENB.

@romagnoli. I have the same problem. I played online against a local and had 2 games against badgerman which were pretty good.
But MLO is a no go. I now only get error messages and earlier when I was in I couldn't find a match. Frustrating as hell.

I had three atrocious games on the trot after taking an age to log in. The game after the post was better and the next one was ok. But not being able to open MLO is a pretty big issue. When I do get in and it's having one of it's spells, every time it has to connect to something (competition lists, searching for matches, getting to the pre-match menu, looking at other clubs' squads, exiting the post match menu etc etc) takes an age. It's painful stuff.

Thanks Jimmy. I did a bunch of slogging thru the WENB forums and came to that conclusion as well. Trying it now, fingers crossed....

F***. Didn't work. Just spent 20 minutes deleting everything and reinstalling, but the edit file does not show up in the load menu.

Is it possible this just doesnt work on a US PS3? That doesn't make sense to me but I can't figure out what it could be.

why do people feel the need to replay everything online? a shit shot over the bar? gotta see that again, a foul, gotta see that again, master league online coach mode with time being precious to get as many games as possible for money - the ai hits a woeful shot, gotta see that again. why? its starting to grate, is it a sort of in-joke to do this to wind people up? if so,congrats you've won.

press :l1: + :x: with the 1st player along with the direction to the 2nd player. Then when the ball is on the 2nd player, press :x: again to pass it back to the feet of the 1st player or you can press :triangle: to put the ball in front of the 1st player or :circle: to loft the ball. While doing that, you also need to press direction button to the 1st player.

I hope it explains how to do one-two. This is from my experience with PES2010 and PES2011 demo.

online play is not this games forte it seems

both in terms of connectivity (so i hear) and how it seems to revert the gameplay to a highly arcade style (so i've noticed)

i've had about 5 games online now and win lose or draw they're a pretty rubbish experience compared to offline multiplayer

I really enjoy the online gameplay when it works. You do get arcade types but the early throes of MLO clip most people's wings considerably. I do worry for D5 players if they end up getting matched with D1-3 players in a few months' time though. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Got into the Div4 Coach mode knockouts and lost on penalties in the first round. The game itself was pretty damn exciting to watch - Erding had a shot palmed out of the top corner, they had a number of good opportunities and we had a couple of frenzied goalmouth scrambles.

We were on form in the qualies though. Beat a couple of sides with bigger talents just through tactics and a fair bit of confidence on the ball. Shame you didn't like Erding, Jim - Reactions of 88, attack of 81, good physical stature plus Fox-in-the-box and 1-on-1 player cards do a hell of a lot of good, particularly in Coach mode.

Chantome is a genius by the way. £1.5m, not very quick at all but quite agile and technically very good. Great passer of the ball over all distances - Passing card too, needless to say. Everything he does impresses his manager - his debut saw him score a very composed finish with the outside of the right foot into the near corner. Just watching him in coach mode you see him pull off these cunning little turns and touches to create space for one of his signature play-spreaders. The sort of casual Gallic flair I want to develop in BaL.

His name's just completely gone but I sold...erm...Ceydellanos (??) just now. A greek who I think might be fake as there was another player with absolutely identical stats but shorter! - to make room for an upgrade in the same position, Kharja. Not had a game with him yet but already feel a pang of regret as the Greek had decent all-round stats including a fair few yellows. He could pass, had good speed and could carry the ball well, plus he had 82 FK accuracy, 87 shot power and 86 swerve. One of his last acts for me was to score a 28 yard free kick in ML. Not sure why I sold him really!

He's £1m if anyone wants a look; you'll probably have to search for a Greek in the £1m price range who can play CMF or AMF. I only really sold him as he'd got a couple of purple arrows at crucial times and if it wasn't for Iouga I'd have been up a creek. I also wanted to try someone alongside Simons who didn't have an attacking mentality. Kharja is better in most areas, particularly reaction times and acceleration (so better at snapping up loose balls), and has the 1-touch play card which I thought would be useful in the sorts of tight spaces I tend to find myself in. I'll definitely look at snapping him back up once I start signing subs.

I'm waiting for January to play MLO, that way I start way behind, and I will have to work alot to work up the ladder.

Meanwhile I cant play ML until there are second divisions, so I am playing BAL and online ranked matches.

I had three games today, He picked Milan so I went for Napoli, the Lavezzi Hamsik Cavani trio was too good to pass up. Very first play he attacks me directly with Robinho, and I mistimed a tackle and I am down a man. Regardless I keep most of the possession for the first half. In the second half the guy pressures me, desperate to get a goal, I am holding on with a man down and a three man backline. He makes a cross with Boateng, I clear it, but it falls to wrong man. Zlatan just hits it with fury, and I am down 0-1 with a man down against Milan.

Turns out nothing is impossible though, Marek Hamsik starts to take control of the Midfield, skips past Ambrosini, opens wide to Lavezzi who moved wide to the left to make some space. El "Pocho" proceeds to turn Zambrotta inside and out, lifts his head and sees Hamsik standing at the edge of the Box, passes back, Hamsik feints a shot and places a pass for Gargano running in through the middle, Nesta slides to try to intercept, but the ball goes past him, Gargano one on one with the keeper, and GOOOOL!!!

82nd minute goal to draw level. I then proceed to just pull all my man back and try to play quick counter. It ended 1-1 with all 10 of my men playing inside my half of the pitch, because they were all tired, and Milan is a hell of a team.

I then found a really cool dude. He picked Lyon, I went with PSG. He dominated me, but he could not score. Then around the 88th minute, Makelele of all people dribbled past one player, than past another one, but he had a heavy touch, slid to hit the ball before the keeper closed the angle, and the ball went under Lloris' arm. I pumped my fist as the ball slowly rolled in to the goal. Special game.

My OF mystery has gotten even weirder. I have version BLES 1020 (which is the Uk version... right?) But I decided to try downloading the Europe version of the option file (the one WENB released first) and... it worked! Kinda... All the emblems are in but the kits not. I think I may have to re-copy the files but... what is going on???

Have you tried assigning one of the kit designs in edit mode? In the past if the kits haven't shown up straight away I'd go into edit mode and go to the option to assign an image to the kit and it magically finds them all. It's almost as if you have to make it handshake with the files.

I am really surprised people on here are enjoying the MLO, especially the people that like to actually try and play football.

I have now retired for MLO and online altogether(for the 3rd time), I would estimate that 1 maybe 2 out of 10 games are against someone that will try and pass the ball more than 1 or 2 times to get from defense/midfield to strikers.
About 5/10 games are against people that play with 3 CB's, 3 very, very deep DMF's, 1 very, very high AMF and 3 strikers. When you get the ball near their box they just hold X and run through you and take the ball then lump it up to one of the forwards. This is easy enough to defend for the most part but they will usually get a goal due to bad player switching or cut backs. It is hugely frustrating trying to break through 6 players in and around their box and if you do get through when you are setting up for a shot someone just walks into you and takes the ball.
The other 3/10 games are against people that sprint & pressure whore. I have come to the conclusion that stamina has no effect in this game, in MLO anyway, they just keep this up for the whole 90 mins with no discernible consequences. While to some extent it can be enjoyable just passing around them, when they do manage to run into you and take the ball then play their 1 or 2 passes forward to their superstar striker and score it is annoying.
There is just no fun in it for me, very little variation in tactics and the tactics that are used are pathetic. People just want to win at all costs, I would rather have a decent game of football and lose.
It is ashame because when I do actually get to play someone who plays a decent game it is fun and it would greatly extend the lifespan of the game. As it is I am finding the ML against the CPU very easy and as a result boring and I think I might trade PES in for Gran Turismo when it finally comes out.

Maybe next year :LMAO:

To be fair bud, I was pretty happy with him, and your right, his Player Cards are that of an out-and-out finisher. His exit only came off the back of a friendly I had offline with my best mate. He was Man Utd and I chose Lyon, I ended up winning 2-1 in extra time and Bastos scored two amazing goals. One was a tight dribble followed by a 30 yard screamer into the bottom corner, and the other he cut inside about 25 yards out, on his cultured left foot smashed one into the top corner, off the bar then the post and in. After that game I sold Erding and bought Bastos.

Also, I like a certain partnership upfront, usually a strong technical player and then a smaller, agile player with a bit of speed over the first 10 yards and a great touch. Jeda has been superb for me getting a goal a game in every start he has made. I'll come back for Erding when I get some money.

How much did you get for qualifying for the Knockout Stage ?

R2 is also a great way to avoid a sliding tackle by the way. A couple of taps during a dribble and at the right time, makes your player jump in the air to avoid a slide tackle, ala Cristiano. Scored two goals of this last night as a dirty MLO player tried hacking me to death at every opportunity. To be fair, he had the default team with C.Ronaldo. He tried a Rainbow Flick early doors, and it's the first time anyone has tried this against me online. The flick itself is pretty much useless anyway advantage wise, but as soon as I saw it, I took a yellow card as I tried to snap Ronaldo's legs. He then tried again, so I chopped him again. Ronaldo went off injured after less than 25 minutes played. I'm sure my opponent learnt a harsh lesson about Rainbow Flicks and me. After that he tried to kick the shit out of my players, but I managed to jump his tackles more often than not. :)

I have a couple of great buys that people should have a look at, I'll post them tomorrow once I have their nationalities.

As for the MLO, I love it, and definately not having the same problems that your having Ern, anything but to be honest. I'm loving playing randoms, and have yet to see any glitches or cheap play. I also completely clicked last night with a new defensive tactic that has changed the way I play the game, it is brilliant and with concentration can stop alot of those deadly throughballs. :)

Ern, just sign up for PEEL and you can play PES fair, click the link on my signature.

One of our members over at PEEL has created a Championship option file, I have not downloaded it yet, but I will once I get home this evening. Here is the link to the thread for anyone that is interested. I have a feeling this will be like the WENB option file in the regard that you will need to delete the latest DLC file, then install the Championship OF, then reinstall the DLC file for it to show.

Couple of questions. Can you play PEEL using the US version? Secondly is the default camera in the demos for corners the same as the final game?
After playing the Winning Eleven demo for nearly a month now I think I will be more than happy with the game if the graphics and gameplay are equal to that. Still suck at free kicks but it seems the better I get the better the game gets. An occasional problem with switching but I find my positioning errors are more the problem than ending up with the wrong defender. Can't wait to see the improvements these guys can make on 2012. After downloading 2010 2010WC and 2011 I can't see how anyone can prefer the other game. No comparison.:))
