PES 2011 Discussion thread

Hey guys. Just wondering what is the etiquette when you see the pause icon? Do you continue playing or do you put the ball out? Just wanted to know what are your thoughts on this. I mean of course I'm not talking about in the middle of an attack or something. I've come across it and sometimes I put it out and sometimes I continue playing. Problem is that not everyone gives the ball back lol! I have encountered some sporting ones who realise what it is and give the ball back.

Perhaps i'm being rather nostalgic but i find this completely poor compared to the way i used to be able to mix and match all the teams (including Ligue 1 and Eredivisie) PES 4/5/6

It makes me lament on how it appears Konami don't realise that half the reason people loved the old PES' was because of the way they were so complete and had so much variety outside of the gameplay.

I find it a real shame the way ML works now because it always added so much variety when you could mix and match.

Me too. I always spent time setting up the master league so that my league contained some of the best teams around that I enjoyed playing against and then put a a few decent teams in each other league to keep the champions league interesting.

I would normally have teams like Milan, Inter, Man U, Barca, Ajax, Lyon etc in my league
 
What I feared has happened. Yes, Konami think Fabianski is best goalkeeper than Fábio, awesome goalkeeper from Cruzeiro-BRA. : Facepalm:

I entered another MLO Competition today, and had another 3 OG's guy. To be honest, he had a good team, and I did actually get the gate receipts money, £80,000. I was trying to intercept his OG's so that I could score one or two goals myself and which would have given me +5 GD. They can do this all they want for me, I dont lose out, I get good money, a win and GD.

I also found my perfect strike partner for Suarez, in Jeda. What a player, and completely two-footed which is great for an SS. I tried Cahill then bought Bastos who was decent, then Luis Garcia, but none 'felt' right, then Jeda walked into my life. :)

I was struggling for a few games so I swapped teams to Boca Juniors, bought Jeda and a left winger to give me left sided balance as I felt that is what I was missing badly, and now I'm playing some great football again. These two new signings have made a huge impact.

This game is ruling my life.
 
Condition arrows taken to an all-time laughable level after I win 5-0 against Internacional in the semi-finals only to find my starting XI with 6 out of 11 of them on a 'downer'. Definitely something up with this. The rest are on the green, neutral arrow too, none are in 'good' form or better.

EDIT - Doesn't seem to be making any difference to my performances though, so not really too bothered right now.

Hi guys i've just won the Copa Libertadores on top player. I chose Corinthians mainly cause my fav player ronaldo there I won 8 lost 2(groups) drew 4. Almost went out F****** D'alesandro FC were hard went through on away goals, a undeserved away goal too but still. My strikeforce of Ronaldo & Dentinho notch between them 13 goals & 7 assists, I will b defo buying Dentinho in the ML great young player with good technique. hopefully I can upload some of my goals especially the peaches I scored with Ronaldo.
 
LOLLLL!!!! Just played a french MOFO online he picked Barca as usual, wanted 2 challenge myself i picked FC Porto. he took the lead through messi and he started talking crap and watching his goal replay 4 ages. There no way i was going 2 outrun him so i just outpassed him i was winning 3-1 and the MOFO quit the game with 15 mins to go. At HT the possesion count was 62%-38%

Wednesday is my day off Si, and now it's nearly over. :(

I noticed that Konami have given more people the chance to enter a MLO Competition by having the MLO Open Comp 15 and 30 minutes after both the Division 4 and 5 Cup. This is much better, people can't just jump from one Comp to another now.

I just finished a Champions League today and noticed the same. Every Away fixture I had I might have had one Yellow arrow, a couple of green and then the rest Blue and Purple. Even the rest of the squad were mostly Blue and Purple...

Is it maybe an easy way for Konami to set the "Away" club at a disadvantage without having to program in "cheats" to the game that people get uppity about? Hmmmmm. :OOOH:
 
PES has finally arrived! Got it delivered by ebay from the UK, was expecting it yesterday and was gutted when it didn't arrive... was praying I wasn't disappointed again today and thankfully I wasn't :)

Question for you guys - I downloaded the WENB OF, followed all the instructions... but it's nowt working! I've copied all the files from the USB to the system, including the edit data file, but nothing is happening.

Do I have to import the files before I get the new DLC? Does it have anything to do with the fact that it's version 1.01 (not sure if this is new or if it's been like this.) Anyone who can help, I'll be in their debt!

Similar question for chants- what type of folder do I have to put my mp3s in for the ps3 to recognize them? Thanks :)

EDIT: to clarify, I did not download the wrong one, that was made for the Euro version... I dled for the UK

A poster called Lennon 666 created an option file with over 100 classic club teams. It was the best file created. Is Lennon still around or is there any geniuses takin up his work?on ps3 aswel not pc. Amazing work. Only reason I still play pes6. Need it 4 pes11
 
Got the game today.

Wow too much to do, MLO, ML, BAL, CL, League, World Cup and just online against known PES players. I don't see myself playing anything else this year. GT5 may have to wait a few months.

Could be, but I was for example, winning the away game and then still having down arrows for the home fixture.
 
Anybody got a classic option file. Johnlennon696 used to do one with 142 classic teams. Is he doing one with pes11?that wud b grrreat

I've noticed home and away play a role in this. At home my team has good arrows while away they're mostly stuffed.

EDIT: Just noticed Dar's post as well. So it ain't only me then.

That's was why i was finding winning away so hard on the demo :LOL:

Don't mind this tbh. i think a lot of it is down to the mentality stat! If it's high, downers don't affects players that much!

It's really hard to win with Smaller teams online! Mainly because of the shooting, it's so hard to score with teams like that. i did get a draw out of madrid using Porto, a game i should have won!
 
Can someone tell me how the fuck I can completely restart my Master League Online? For some reason it decided to change the fucking team name when I created it and now I can't get it to what I want it as. Only thing I can see to do is reset team but that only restores the original lineup.

Seriously pissed me off.

EDIT - I swear anger leads to blindness. Found the ahem, "edit team name" option.

No but as far as i am aware, the game only claims to have 360 degree passing. 360 movement is the architect of Fifa's downfall imo, so i'm not at all arsed about it. Haha.
 
360 movement, when dribbling, is not possible in real life IMO, at least when you're playin in a REAL match, not just messing around in the park.

So it shouldn't be like that in a game.

You're a bit restricted in your touches when you control the ball, be it my little daughter or Lionel Messi.

I think PES2011 is pretty realistic in dribbling, at least what they could achieve so far.

Nah, PES 2011 also has 360º dribbling as a feature. It's pretty obvious tbh. Doesn't work the same way as FIFA though. Thank god.

Same here and and i simply like the fact that i have to figure out the appropriate tactics to compensate this disadvantage in away games.
In the CL finals i played i suprisingly had much weaker arrows than the CPU and afair i was the away team so to say :-)
Need to check this next time.
Afair in previous versions of PES you couldn't see the CPU arrows so it's a nice addition this year that makes team performances more comprehensible.
