PES 2011 Discussion thread

I am really puzzled about Fremm's post. I have heard so much good news about ML online and now the release version is that bad? And 2 vs 2 is equally puzzling: Jon Murphy said it will be 4 vs 4.
That's why I wonder if that patch did nothing? From what I 've heard it was about online...
Have others the same experience as Fremm?
Why then Jon say that, only 4 vs 4 for " Legeds mode " or what ?

Installed the patch yesterday already and still....
Guys, my bad 4vs4 is possible..Up till 8 online so...

Nope, 2vs2 max. Just played my first 5 online matches and they were HORRIBLE. Lagfest to the max and all 5 of my opponents chose Real Madrid.... I lost them all and it is fair to say that I lost 4 outta 5 simply due to lag. I am officialy well annoyed:RANT:

At least one good thing is you will be able to play on PEEL were there is no barca/madrid whores. Konami FFS handicap teams online, not many players can represent there true clubs because of this, and online is about human v human, not human v human with a few aces up is sleeve. This crap as gone on far too long what a joke!

I know PES is not known for having great commentry but that is shocking! I am turning it off before I play a match.
FIFAs commentry may not comment on whats happening on the pitch half the time but atleast it sounds nautural, this sounds like very bad voice acting, reminds me of the original Resident Evil on PS1. Beglin is especially bad and I just plain dislike Jon Champion, struggle to watch games on ESPN his voice just grates and he has a face that begs to be punched.

I will probably play offline ML/tournaments/training and unranked games before diving into MLO, not that I'm a win% whore, I just don't want to completely embarrass myself!

I've begun scoring quite a lot of goals now on the demo compared to when I started, but still feel like I will get owned online :P I know practically all sports games have cheap tactics that are unrealistic and overly effective, but I just hope that, on the whole, playing proper football will at least put you at near the same level as the people who use these methods (i.e. the PES4/6 cutback, the PES5 free kick bug, PES6 Adriano)...

On FIFA (even on manual) multiplayer games just come down to your gaming reactions and instincts, your ability to exploit the flaws in the game and use the same routes to goal. It does not make you think like a footballer, and if you force yourself to do so, then you will be at a massive disadvantage - admittedly, it has it's moments of genius, especially on Clubs, but generally, it's a joke of a game online (and just plain boring offline).

Oh, and one thing I like about PES 2011 (demo) is how you can use super cancel for defending/tackling again.
I kind of mastered this on PES5 (especially offline, lag made it more difficult online), and got so good at it that my friends "banned" me from using it against them .

It's not quite as extreme as this in PES 2011, but here's 3 examples of what I mean from PES5;

YouTube - SuperCancel Defending PES5

They seemed to have removed that from PES6, instead of colliding, players slid past each other like they were covered in oil :P.

i totaly agree about fifa. its VERY hard to play real football and be rewarded for it. the only way to play the game is bashing the x button and through balls and using finest shots to score.

BAP was the same shit as well as thats how 9/10 clubs play like.

That video u posted is hilarous no wonder why your mates banned you thats a foul. a blatent foul

Fifa got 8/10, poor review for both games, although the reviewer did state PES 2011 has more "charisma". IGN gave PES a 9, quite surprised to be honest, I thought the press was gonna embarrass themselves, Fifa inevitably scores higher because of what it offers but reviewers have very different takes on what they consider the true simulation.

Is it possible to have such a twisted take on reality that you could consider FIFA a true simulation?

As much as I love this PES I dont think I would rate it higher than 75%, there is alot to worked on. Game scores are too high in general IMO.

Played 3 games of FIFA 11 on World Class, I am going to master this by tonight. :(

That is what initially made me think of getting FIFA over PES, the ease at which I could play the football that I wanted. I could just pass, pass, pass my way up the pitch, keep possession and wait for an opening. But after a day of playing the demo and every game playing out the exact same way, no matter what team I was using or against it soon got old. FIFA is very pick up and play friendly and I can see why it get the praise it does but I doubt it keeps people engrossed for a few months let alone a year.

I absolutely ABHORE these immoral, bully boy practices, surely there must be something Konami can do. There must be a law about market share or something...

There should be something the lawyers at Konami could aim at in EU law under illegal monopolies, restriction of trade or intellectual copyright.

EA are a disgrace. I've never liked them much. I remember when 2K games produced the superior NHL game unlike the generic EA crud of the time.

EA threw it's toy's out of the pram and bought all the licenses. Unfortunately because many fans wanted the 'authentic' graphical appeal they were soon relegated to second place.

No doubt EA will once again try and spend more on licenses at the next bargaining round with the aim of trying to squeeze Konami because sadly many kids are all for style over substance.

Hence even despite the crushing disappointment's of PES2008/9 and improved 2010 my money always goes to 'help' Konami every year.

joeryan is a kindred spirit in this regard. ;)

Great review, reading the comments below it I can't help but laugh at the crying Fifa fanboys who can't handle the score.

i played demo and it was crap so i have no idea how full version got 9.0 shock animations were bad, sound were awful and gameplay was numb. i prefer FIFA because its much better and this...

Played both games and I have personally played football for 20 years at a relatively high level myself, and I have to say Fifa 11 is a more realistic and a better football game than PES 2011. US americans dont know a shit about football(soccer)

think i trust the uk ign for a more accurate review on a football game. And for me Pro evo feels a lot more robotic than FIFA. so as always FIFA gets my vote for this year

:LMAO:

I wish I had have read this quote earlier in the review, I would have stopped reading there and then.

Some may prefer Fifa's more studied approach to football realism, but when it comes to pick-up-and-play fun and intensity, PES 2011 gets my vote this year.

Oh dear. :CONFUSE:
