PES 2011 Discussion thread

So if Robinho is "reborn", he comes back as a 17 year old with stats in the 80/90's and the same face, same name and skill cards?

If he's reborn he comes back as the same guy but his stats may or may not be high/low etc..

Sometimes players who are reborn come back better or much worse than their stats before :)

What i don't like is how players who are reborn come back looking exactly like they did before. In fifa they come back with a generic face and different name :) .

its ok Zee and everyone ,ive come up with a way to have all the copa libertadores players in the ML,its just a matter of using the base copy function in edit mode to copy any player you want in in the game that cant be used in ML mode to the free players section in edit mode. if i want Ronaldo Lima from corinthians i simply go to edit mode pick him then base copy him to free players,he will be there then to sign in ML mode in other players and free agents, its not an ideal solution but it will work meaning the best of the south american players wont be locked down just to the libertadores mode:COOL:

I knew there'd be a way around it....and your way is much better than mine :)) Can't wait to start my ML now.

Hi Fremm, glad your liking the game mate, can you do me a favour and go into team edit and see if you can still change the chants from default to pattern chants, because allthough not perfect i feel pattern chants give a more realistic atmosphere,Mind you after hearing the default ones silence would be better lol.

Hi Buzz, yep still possible:WORSHIP:

Will those players be free agents then? Meaning all of the teams will have South American's playing for them that normally aren't there?

Such a mess that Konami have created :(

Hi there to all of you. I have the EU version since yesterday and I must say the game is a must...I think the passing is really the key element in this game simply because it's very fluid and we can create really deep teamplay with this element.

It's nice to see how much the team management influences the way the player react in the field. The points we atribute to each team style, like pressure or playing through the wings has to be carefully measured according the players we have and the team we choose.
I see myself ordering the players never to abandon their positions but play widely through the field because it's my way of managing the flow of the game.

There's some key elements to the game:
- Shooting- it really depends of many variables...position of the player, pressure from the defenders, and ultimately rating
- AI- it definitely seems to be better but sometimes it is too confusing in the defence area, even when it is in the CPU field. the players seem to react slowly under pressure sometimes.
- The Online play seems very stable...even with red signal I got almost no dragging or lag during online matches.
- The editing of kits and logos is maintained in the teams during online play, it was a nice thing too see.

Definitely it is a better game and a very good effort from Konami this year. It brings a lot of game modes and it's rewarding to see the pleasure it delivers while we are playing like it was many years ago.

It has it's bugs but i'm beggining to understand and accept that there's no rose without thorns.

WFT now is this http://img521.imageshack.us/i/konami.mp4/ is the demo I never saw this, player has never circled around the ball, they always went directly!!! This is so ridiculous me, although I go directly he will do that, of course not always but mostly then I do through pass, it is too often now... this really ugly to see and really bothers me. This was also in the MLO, but not in the demo!

Now with the Messi I cross the half field almost with no problems, I have a feeling that it is now easier and the game is somehow a little faster compared to the demo. And I do not have to choose the speed -1 and -2, I just have 0, 1 and 2?

Played the full game at a mates house, copy ain't coming till 8 of October :(

I'm SO glad to see jostling has been tweaked, players won't stumble and give up the ball as often, and I noticed a couple of new animations, including the one where the players circles the ball. I remember seeing it in MLO videos but it looks a lot better and smoother, as do a lot of the animations.

I think stats are pretty random, also depending on your coach and how much money you pour into the academy. I've had a dutch keeper show up in my academy, forgot his name now, already a legend with stats of 90+ in both defence and GK skills. This never happened to me again though. All the other players I signed from academy apart from him were normal.

And goalgerd, about your way, won't that make things more confusing when you have 2 of the same player in ML? The base copied one plus the one showing up in an academy.

hi mate

how many slots are there available?

best regards

simon

Yes but you can only increase it.
I got my copy and there is not -1 and -2.
BTW
Fouls ratio has been tuned down too much.
Now all matches seem friendly

Well that is a disgrace. Konami better add this in a patch otherwise i may considering buying it. I dont want to use kitserver as it slows down the clock and is silly.

Just a thought, however this is no way ideal......

How about assigning a host of copa lib players (say 100 of your favourites) to some small clubs you're unlikely to ever use - or even better a new created team (or PES / WE teams). Then when you start a ML would those players then become available to buy in the transfer market?

As I said, this is not ideal, as it would totally screw up Copa Lib mode (as teams will be missing some of their star names). But it could be an option for those who are only interested in playing ML and making it as authentic as possible, and would like to buy some South American starlets or legends like Ronaldo!

Anyway, just an idea, and I'm not sure if this would even work as I gave up on PES 10 ML before Christmas - but can't wait for PES 11 as the demo was great.

Alternatively what you could do is turn off the Option File auto-save, do the transfers, start the Master League, then just load the Option File again to its previous state.

I am a little concerned of EA's grip on the licenses. As much as we like to bitch and moan about Konamis inability to have a fictitous Bundesliga, the fact of the matter is it was imposed on konami just before the release of PES5 and hasn't made a comeback yet and unfortunately like game engines very few of us know much concerning licensing and copyright issues. Also remember the ability to select commentary names for teams like Manchester because it is a name of a town or place so it can't be licensed or copyright protected?......gues again boys and girls EA have money and money talks big.

I reckon, come the day that Konami starts nibbling and eventually eating at EA's market share in the UK, US or other major countries. EA will start an anal assualt that's going to give Seabass and co a serious bum ache. They are going to slap the rule book all over their faces to try and disrupt any momentum that Konami may wish to make and this is in respect of licensing as it's the only hold EA has over other developers regardless of the genre.

Also don't fool yourself in thinking that EA do not care what Konami are upto. If the momentum PES6 had, was followed through on PES 2008 maybe with a version like PES 2010. EA would have been in serious trouble. Another thing is if EA continue to tweak and touch up rather than properly improve and implement which is something I feel they are incapable of with the current structures, people will wisen up and show EA the middle finger.

This is all hypothetical but remember the Zeemeister has spoken :JAY::JAY:

I absolutely ABHORE these immoral, bully boy practices, surely there must be something Konami can do. There must be a law about market share or something...

Such as? Licenses for Croatian or Slovenian first league? :) EA has the licences for nearly all top and medium level leagues, e.a. leagues that instigate even moderate global interest.

How many of you guys would applaud to Konami if they give you e.g. Croatian first league next year?

I know alot of people do not think like this but I would not care if PES had 0 licenses. As long as they made an awesome edit mode to compensate with unlimited spaces for teams, players, stadiums, emblems etc. You would only have to wait a few months before the game would be as "Licensed" or more than FIFA, the PES community is great.

at least it would definetly possible to add the korean and japanese league and i'm one of those guys who wants to play with urawa red diamonds or kawashima antlers ...

Agreed. They could just add a load more leagues and leave them as fake teams and players and we'd fix that up. They kinda do that with the EPL anyway, knowing that we fix that league.

All fine and well and I agree but we are talking market share here....beeeeeg-beeeg money and that is what matters, not what we the evo-webbers think. Contrary to popular belief the casual gamer has more hearsay than the minority hardcore gamers and that is a fact.

Also remember this is just business so it's senseless spitting at EA. It's in the game.

Do you guys honestly think EA was running at a loss when Konami had the gaming world in it's grips around the time of PES5? EA know their shit. Look at the sales and hype Fifa 10 generated and that game was just plain broken.

Does Konami really need that big of a market share? Have they ever had one?

I remember back when PES5 came out and I guess sales wise, the series must have been at is peak around then, I never knew 1 other person that played PES, all my friends played FIFA and all their friends did also.

I think EA need the market share more than Konami.
