PES 2011 Discussion thread

I'm hoping you kind find the Copa Players through their nationality rather than the club teams. I cant see how this wouldnt be possible if they are already on the database ?

Not sure if it means anything but in the main ML page, above we have news of what's going in the football world.I did see D'Alessandro being signed by a CPU team.
Too fucking bad I didn't remember to check if it was possible to sign players from the COPA teams

Cheers bud, but Internacional are available anyway in the Other Latin Teams section I believe. You need to search for player from a Copa Team that isnt in the normal Exhibition mode.

So I've followed your instructions and yeah it's impossible to sign those players from the COPA.I tried with the legendary Ronaldo but the closest I got was the portuguese.
This is really stupid from Konami

How about say a player like Humbero Suarez?

He's in the Chile Nt and also plays for Monterrey of Mexico

Nope.I have tried it with Suazo and other different players but I just can't seem to be able to sign anyone whose club isn't part of the ML world already

You were right, the PES-demo is nothing compared to the full version, probably similar to your beloved WE-demo... so you had the joy to play the polished product much longer than we poor souls.

I only wished you had posted a real full match-video on top-player like you promised to do, it would have calmed my nerves and answered a lot of questions.

But ok, the full version is here, it's all good, it plays way better than the demo, control is much more polished, teammembers are more aware and react quicker when selected (even player-switching has been improved) and espescially the CPU's attack-AI has been greatly improved.

Of course it's not perfect: Goalkeepers need more animations, referee must learn advantage, collisions need more variation... but that's nearly all, most of the problems of the demo were solved (except maybe for the greenzone-bug, haven't tried it yet).

Great game.:BOP:

Theres always room for improvement but konami have come on leaps and bound in less then 12 months and produced what i would consider to be a miracle in such a short period of time.

Theres alot of clever coding stuff in pes2011 that im sure is even the envy of the coders back at ea,and while the keepers may not have the variation or variety of animation of those in fifa,i personally feel they have more of a organic quality as do the other 10 protaganists on the pitch. To get this level of variation in each of the players 360 degree movement ratio and have them foot planting as well as capturing the differences in different players centre of gravity based on there height and weight is some coding feet..

The ai is also pure genius, and currently apart from a very vocal hardcore i dont think some journos are quite realising how clever it actually is as are some others.

Bottom line its all down to interpretation, the way i see it ea hit a good benchmark 2 years ago and are now just milking it for every penny, making small adjustments to what i believe is a watering down of the core values of football to provide a very accessible and artificial take on the real sport.Imo fifa perhaps captures the frills of premiership football at its most climatic, pass and rush with wingers, fullbbacks and forwards always sprinting forward and making themselves space, which is more a parody of the intricities and true dynamics of the sport.Take champions league football,i feel this is better reflected in konamis product this year, the ebb and flow and the way players arent always moving and running towards goal unless you the end user set the game to play that way.

Pes2011 not only gives you unparalled control of the gameplay and ball but it allows you to fill the shoes of the manager and make adjustments on the fly ie moving a players positions slightly or maybe taking a ST and putting on another CF to change the dynamics of the match, and the stratergy system is both user friendly, logical and comprehensive.

Fifa doesnt have pes2011s long ball or through passing dynamic and despite fifa11s much tauted personality plus i dont believe theres the variation in the teams or players or there general movements for fifa11 to be considered a perfect take on the football formula.

Alot of what ive read from psm3 and official playstation magazine is a sell-out pushed on them by editors and the top brass that own these publications that have advertising revenue interests with ea and exclusives.

Fifa11 has been very overated for what is fundamentally a game that has only slightly improved since last year. You can add all the features and presentation beels and whistles you want, but bottom line,a game of football should be judged on its gameplay and how it adheres to the principles of the real sport.

I think Fifa captures the english premiership-football, while PES is capturing Italy's serie-a and Spain's la-liga-football.

Oh FFS how and why did Konami do this....I was looking forward to building a team of Latinos to conquer La liga and Europe......fucking idiots!

This.

There is always something with Konami, and it's usually something that would be so easy to fix. I get the feeling they somehow do it on purpose. They get all the major aspects so right, then let themselves down with things like this. We should be acustom to it by now.

Murpheus updates:

#pes2011 #code Update: rainbow flicks now more difficult to pull off. Team is still looking into closing down issues

@SonicSpinner New patch is for online play and some basic bug fixes. Still looking at closing down. There'll also be DLC later for kits etc

@JonMurphy_PES Alright Jon! In the final retail version of PES2011 are you able to play as European teams against Copa sides? Cheers

@BoltonExile No. This was a restriction of the license we had to agree to. It's to do with licenses held by EA

EA, EA...

The beauty is you can set pes2011 up to play like what ever league you want, but i tip my hat to your point in its default state pes2011 does resemble a more european style of play, when fifa is more premiership, pass and rush.

I mostly agree, but in FIFA you can't effectively hoof it forward for a targetman to flick on, or play a long pass between the defense and the goalkeeper. If you ask me, PES can resemble every football league in the world, and FIFA resembles more of a hybrid between NHL and football.

WFT now is this http://img521.imageshack.us/i/konami.mp4/ is the demo I never saw this, player has never circled around the ball, they always went directly!!! This is so ridiculous me, although I go directly he will do that, of course not always but mostly then I do through pass, it is too often now... this really ugly to see and really bothers me. This was also in the MLO, but not in the demo!

Now with the Messi I cross the half field almost with no problems, I have a feeling that it is now easier and the game is somehow a little faster compared to the demo. And I do not have to choose the speed -1 and -2, I just have 0, 1 and 2?

Just played my first game with the PS3 retail copy and I must say; What a game!!
Juve- Milan decided by a subtle outside foot touch of Iaquinta.
Quick review:
+ Animation transitions are better then the demo
+ Shooting is slightly tweaked
+ Less scissors
+ Total package of the game is really impressive
+ Visuals are slightly better

- Atmosphere is poo
- Rosters are a disgrace
- Crosses are allowed too often
- Fouls toned down

Will report back later!

Can someone please confirm that there is 4v4 online please. Jon Murphy said there would be in a recent interview.

So where'd you get in the end? I've looked all over the city but no luck, only FIFA 11. Decided to pre-order it in the end so now I have to wait till next week like the UK.

You can't play ML with Copa Libertadores teams mate. It doesn't make sense because you get to qualify for the Europa League and Champs League. That wouldn't be right.

I'd like to see them under other Latin America though, so I get to play their Champ in the Konami Cup (Club World Cup).

That makes sense but surely there shouldn't be any reason why players from copa lib teams couldn't be bought in Master League.

Bah, i knew you wouldn't be able to sign internationals in ML. It really limits the pool of talent. The only reason i can think of, is that Konami do it as a lazy way to avoid 'doubles' appearing in the ML. You can still sign intenationals on the PS2 version.

Went over the border to Germany, Aachen to pick it up:SMUG:

Wish I lived nearer to the border, that's pretty clever

What about the commentary, no English I presume? Really don't understand why the entire EU seem to get their version today but we have to wait for the UK release. We're probably getting the English version then which I suppose isn't that bad. Too small a country to get our own version...

No English indeed, doesnt matter set commentary to Italian which is loads better then the English one....

Just been playing fifa 11 pc. The AI are such cheats lol. I was 2 nil up with westham against united on legendary. Second half they score 3 goals in 3 mins. I was powerless to stop it. Every pass i did during that period was on target but they intercepted them all. The same issues plague fifa. Find the game dull and boring TBH.
