PES 2011 Discussion thread

Just been playing fifa 11 pc. The AI are such cheats lol. I was 2 nil up with westham against united on legendary. Second half they score 3 goals in 3 mins. I was powerless to stop it. Every pass i did during that period was on target but they intercepted them all. The same issues plague fifa. Find the game dull and boring TBH.

3-2 ... dull and boring?

Yeah, I agree!
0 is slightly too fast, I think the demo was slower somehow :/

If this won't get patched I will create a twitter account and make Jon Murphy wish
he never joined Twitter :D just kidding...

The gameplay was boring mate it did not excite me. Just doesnt feel right. Like i said fifa AI went into cheat mode as they do alot. If that was pes i would of been happy. Pes just feels better for me. The game has better thrills. The goals conceaded in fifa are cheap.

This.

There is always something with Konami, and it's usually something that would be so easy to fix. I get the feeling they somehow do it on purpose. They get all the major aspects so right, then let themselves down with things like this. We should be acustom to it by now.

Just a thought, however this is no way ideal......

How about assigning a host of copa lib players (say 100 of your favourites) to some small clubs you're unlikely to ever use - or even better a new created team (or PES / WE teams). Then when you start a ML would those players then become available to buy in the transfer market?

As I said, this is not ideal, as it would totally screw up Copa Lib mode (as teams will be missing some of their star names). But it could be an option for those who are only interested in playing ML and making it as authentic as possible, and would like to buy some South American starlets or legends like Ronaldo!

Anyway, just an idea, and I'm not sure if this would even work as I gave up on PES 10 ML before Christmas - but can't wait for PES 11 as the demo was great.

WFT now is this http://img521.imageshack.us/i/konami.mp4/ is the demo I never saw this, player has never circled around the ball, they always went directly!!! This is so ridiculous me, although I go directly he will do that, of course not always but mostly then I do through pass, it is too often now... this really ugly to see and really bothers me. This was also in the MLO, but not in the demo!

Now with the Messi I cross the half field almost with no problems, I have a feeling that it is now easier and the game is somehow a little faster compared to the demo. And I do not have to choose the speed -1 and -2, I just have 0, 1 and 2?

Jeez !! :WOOT:

I forgot all about this move from the MLO beta, I loved it. I have never seen this on the demo. Can someone confirm whether it is in the final code please ? I really, really, really loved this feature.

Edit - Great idea MNJ. I suppose we could always use a seperate PSN ID for the ML, then it wouldnt effect the Copa Libertadores. :)

Yes it is. I like it too.
Because if you don't want to do it, player won't do it. If you run straight, the player will go straigt.

PS
The speed for PC is 0, +1, +2 only :/

Murpheus updates:

EA, EA...

:BRICK:

What licenses do they hold that could cause this? The Mexican league?

Its ridiculous the stranglehold they have on this side of the business.

About ML and Copa players, I thought Konami would at least fix that from 2010 and grant us access to the player database not in ML.

Don't know Tobi. I find it really weird that a license constraint would stop us from picking any team to play against any other team of our choice as a friendly.

So effectively player wise its the same limited database in ML again?

If nothing's changed then yes. You'll have access to every player from European leagues. No internationals and Copa players, they'll randomly turn up in youth academies.

Went around for 3 Hours in the Rain in Munich yesterday to fine some Store to sell me the Game early and finally found one. :BOP:

I love how different the Game plays, every Match is so individual. Started a ML with Tottenham and played Stoke away. They were really parking the Bus and there was NO Space at all, absolutly amazing. And whats happens in these Games? Getting countered out and losing 0:1 which is what i did. Next Game i played Arsenal at Home and it was like the Field was 94538 Yards wide cause of their Wide Play, they let me all the Space i wanted cause they spread it out soooo wide. Won 3:1 but Rosicky scored an amazing Freekick.

The demo is nothing against the full version that's why. Jon Murphy talked nonesense when he claimed demo were final code, full version is much more polished and offers much more challenge and fun.

Cheers HH, but like I said way back, I didnt expect anything else. Regardless of what Jon said, the full retail is always so much better in ever single area for the most part. My concern was that move was in the MLO Beta, so cant understand why it wasnt in the demo's, no real reason for that feature to be missing. I cant wait to get my grubby little mitts on it.

I wish I had a PS3.... :(

Bah, i knew you wouldn't be able to sign internationals in ML. It really limits the pool of talent. The only reason i can think of, is that Konami do it as a lazy way to avoid 'doubles' appearing in the ML. You can still sign intenationals on the PS2 version.

Probably not :)

Since that major ML revamp in PES 2010, Konami introduced youth academies as a yearly source of fresh young talents (and many more not-so-great-talents) for each and every team in ML. Every year youth academies produce up to 10 new youth players. Simple math: nearly 200 club teams in ML x 10 players -> roughly 2000 youth players per season.

Remember, option files in PES cannot have more than 8000 players (at least, that was the case with PES 2010). About 60% (or more) players are already used in ML teams as regular club members. So it leaves less than 4000 players for youth academies.

Youth players have to come from somewhere and since PES does not create imaginary players out of thin air (such as FM does with its' regens), players that are not members of ML teams are, so to say, "shredded and recycled", used as potential youth academy members. Some of them are going to appear randomly in someone's academy, some will be signed, most of them won't and they will be recycled again at the end of the season. That way game keeps virtually endless pool of youth players for every season.

Free agents seem to be recycled too ... if player is sacked and nobody wants him for more than one season, he's going to retire and becomes a candidate for someone's youth academy.

Is it good or bad? It's hard to say. IMO, just the concept of youth academy itself is good addition. It could be implemented in a better way, but OF limitations do not allow for better implementation yet.

Glaring omission, replays feel so constricted now. Another omission I noticed in the demo is the absence of pass stats!! Blasphemy!!

You only ever score tap-ins anyway bud, you really shouldnt notice any difference. :P

The passing stats are criminal though. I loved highlighting those on PEEL to show who played the most 'football'. Which was us.

Edit - Great explanation Zlac. :)

Just played my first game with the PS3 retail copy and I must say; What a game!!
Juve- Milan decided by a subtle outside foot touch of Iaquinta.
Quick review:
+ Animation transitions are better then the demo
+ Shooting is slightly tweaked
+ Less scissors
+ Total package of the game is really impressive
+ Visuals are slightly better

- Atmosphere is poo
- Rosters are a disgrace
- Crosses are allowed too often
- Fouls toned down

Will report back later!

Hi Fremm, glad your liking the game mate, can you do me a favour and go into team edit and see if you can still change the chants from default to pattern chants, because allthough not perfect i feel pattern chants give a more realistic atmosphere,Mind you after hearing the default ones silence would be better lol.

Oh FFS how and why did Konami do this....I was looking forward to building a team of Latinos to conquer La liga and Europe......fucking idiots!

its ok Zee and everyone ,ive come up with a way to have all the copa libertadores players in the ML,its just a matter of using the base copy function in edit mode to copy any player you want in in the game that cant be used in ML mode to the free players section in edit mode. if i want Ronaldo Lima from corinthians i simply go to edit mode pick him then base copy him to free players,he will be there then to sign in ML mode in other players and free agents, its not an ideal solution but it will work meaning the best of the south american players wont be locked down just to the libertadores mode:COOL:

The system they have is good imo but Konami need to make sure 'reborn' players in the database have their star head and face's disabled and there should be some sort on name generator like in FIFA.

So if Robinho comes back as a youth player, he has a different name and generic face :))

What they could do is create a huge sheet of names for each region or nationality. So when a player retires and are 'reborn' they have a generic name fro a list or something. It's silly to see players 'reborn' in the exact same state as they were before.

So if Robinho is "reborn", he comes back as a 17 year old with stats in the 80/90's and the same face, same name and skill cards?
