PES 2011 Discussion thread

Fifa and Pes are both going to be released quite soon so there is not much time to develop new features to the game. So even if Konami showed something new and spectacular the chances that EA could put that to this years product are quite small. This is exactly the same thing that happened last year: EA told that they have the 360 movement in their game and Konami responded to that by saying that they have it too but in reality they didn't have anything but the old 8-directional movement. If they had the enough time I guess we would have really seen the 360 movement in PES too.

Is the Master League Online a chance for you to get the PES community to really pay off. They're so dedicated to the franchise...

I hope so. To be honest, at this stage I know very little about Master
League Online. There's about three secret things I can't talk about, but other than that I'm still in the dark. We'll be seeing a beta version of it quite soon, which is going to be awesome - and will hopefully result in me losing quite a lot of my life.

From what I gathered from this, is that all 3 secret things are related to Master League.

But we know for sure that there are 2 secrets regarding the edit mode and licenses.

Hmmm... He shouldn't have done that when asked about ML, because now I'm confused

The fact he mentioned there are a few improvements on offline ML this year is good though.

:CONFUSE: Not full leagues I bet...
I wonder if someday we will be able to play a "proper" Master League with all the best Leagues around, like for example in FIFA already exists.

Seabass give us more Leagues to play with, please... :WORSHIP:

p.s.
considering we have Copa Libertadores...
why not to have some South American Leagues in Master League, to play also Club World Cup?

'Unless you've got a certain size of marketing budget to chuck behind a product, then you might well suffer in terms of your review scores these days - I really worry about that.'

Fairly true

Jon Murphy comes across a lot better than Rutter or Paterson in interviews. He seems more down to Earth and as if he cares much more about what the fans think rather than trying to appeal to as many people as possible.

One can only hope...

I think we will this time around, but not sure about SA leagues. They might be available to play against in the Konami cup, the fake CWC, instead of some fake teams like in 2010.

It won't cost money and effort to add customizable number of leagues really. We should be able to add as many leagues and teams and decide how many teams we want in each league and add promotion relegation. That's pretty easy. No need for licensing there.

All we need is unlimited use of slots and hdd.

That's one way around it and I expect to see that in PES2011. Hopefully Konami lift the stupid restrictions on the edit mode so we can add as many new teams, kit, badges, etc...as our hard drives allow. Konami seem unwilling to add fully unlicensed leagues (e.g. the Bundesliga) so it's going to have to be a community effort yet again.

Hopefully the licensing secret is a new league, but I don't expect Serie B, The Championship, etc...

seems like Bundesliga is a pretty famous league? do you guys follow it? i personaly dont. is it better than la liga?

It's a great league, I'd say it's more exciting than La Liga because the teams are more evenly matched and the title run-ins are always close and interesting.

It's a shame that it's missing from PES.

While I would love to see the Bundesliga or EPL licensed this year in PES 2011 I really doubt it will happen. Regarding new licenses and leagues I think Konami may have acquired the Argentinian and Brazilian leagues along with some other European ones such as the Portuguese Superliga, Scottish Premier League, Greek League and Turkish League. And who knows maybe this year they will add their J-League license for us Europeans finally!

That's alot.. :CONFUSE:

Where'd you get that from?

That would be awesome and surely a surprise, so many leagues.

Any news is welcome, but I'm more looking forward to the gameplay impressions. I particularly want to hear what Suff has to say as he has been highly critical of PES on next-gen, if he's impressed by it then that's another good sign.

Lol. It's just an educated guess. The Bundesliga is an EA exclusive currently so I doubt it will appear in PES 2011. The EPL is more likely because EA's exclusivity agreement expires in October but they supposedly have first choice so again this looks unlikely for Konami.

I think the Argentinian and Brazilian leagues are licensed because all the screenshots from PES 2011 show the Copa Liberatodores with Brazilian and Argentinian teams such as Estudiantes and Internacional. Im sure Konami have acquired all of the 39/40 teams that form the Copa Liberatodores but like we have a UEFA Champions League selection when we choose the Champions League mode, I think Konami will have the full Argentinian and Brazilian leagues alongside a seperate Copa Liberatodores section as they are the main ones in South America and the full Mexican league is an EA exclusive.

In regards to my European league choices, Konami already have the main ones. Spanish, French, Dutch and Italian. The next main ones (not including the EPL and Bundesliga) would be the Portuguese, Scottish, Greek, Turkish and possibly Russian leagues.

I hope im right! :)

To be honest Jamez, I have heard this Suff character, his word, either way, holds no credence with me personally. In fact, I dont think it matter's what anybody says, I cant think of one reviewer that I respect the opinion of when it comes to PES. I'll make up my own mind when I play it.

On a different note, I have no concerns anymore about this manual passing and how it will effect the stats of the players. When I thought about it, the penalty system on PES 2010 is fully manual, yet it's also highly stat attributed. The amount of power and direction needed when using a dead-ball specialist is alot less compared to using your goalkeeper to take the kick for example. I have completed many penalty shoot-outs, and I find that a decent player only needs a shorter press of both the power and the direction to find the corners. When a goalkeeper takes a penalty, in order to find the same corner, you really need to hold the direction for alot longer, which runs a much higher risk of completely pulling the shot and missing the target.

I'm certain the very same philosophy will apply with the passing in PES 2011. Basically, I see a far greater scope for error with a lesser player than with a more accomplished passer of the ball. I always hated the thought of any of the stats being lost, and I couldnt get my head around how it would work. But after thinking about how they have done the penalties, the answer has been in front of my eyes all the time.

Of course, goes without saying. If I listened to other people I'd be playing Fifa10 right now instead of enjoying PES2010. But positive impressions, particularly from Fifa converts, is a good sign in my opinion.

To be honest, those are the very last people I'd listen to. But I understand what your saying mate.

I take it you never picked up a cheap copy of PES 2010 for the PS3 ?
