PES 2010 Masterleague

Yes, I'm quoting myself. Return leg, managed to go 1-0 up thanks to Torres. Conceded immediatly afterwards, then they scored yet another one. 1-2 on the night, 1-4 on aggregate.

And it's not that I suck, I was undefeated in the league up to that point, with something like 18 wins and 2 draws.

The conclusion is that Bordeaux are bastards.

My best game so far was my last against Arsenal at the Emirates. The game ended 2-2, on both occasions I came back from a goal down. It was a thriller of a game, which really could have gone either way. Both teams had 11 shots on goal and 6 on target.

Heh, about Arsenal :( Some things simply do not change, no matter how many years and versions of PES came by.

I'm in third season in EPL (10min, top player, playing with Others A team) and some seriously bad signs of speed demonizm are starting to show up. Take Arsenal for example - the standard attacking trio (Walcott, Van Persie, Arshavin) is simply overdeveloped in speed department. All they do is run, run, run ... down the flanks, down the middle, everywhere ... heads down and charge up. And I'm not talking about situations where I left some gaping holes in the defence line and they seized the opportunity. It's basicaly all they do - speeding - running into my players, through my players, ...

So, I basicaly have to break, let's say, Walcott's leg to slow them down a bit. Then usualy a slower winger comes in as a replacement and they start to play more like a real team. Grmmmphh :(

Looks like the longevity of certain ML campaigns will be once again hindered by overdeveloped speeding demons.

I have the same problems, its too easy for me to get the ball to Lennon and run with the ball because he moves so fast and not in a realistic way either. I tend to play Bentley over him.

How strange, thats exactly what I did. Wheater took a yellow card for the team and nearly snapped Walcott in two. It helped, but they did have Robben on the other flank. :CONFUSE:

I tend to play Bentley over him.

How good was Bentleys free-kick yesterday by the way ? Ouch !! :WOOT:

It was great, if only his head was screwed on straight.

Really ! I always thought Arsenal was easiest top four side to beat in all my experiences with PES and ML for real. I have always been able to walk all over Arsenal except this particular version. They have been beaten me twice and drawn twice with me so far.

Arsenal always poses no threat at all when i play against them, i am just shocked to see or hear this.

Well my Rodos team have bounced back tremendously from the disappointment of the quarter final defeat to Panathinaikos and Europa League knockout phase defeat to Villareal.

It seems that only a major collapse will result in me losing my grasp on the title.

My debut season in the top division sees me sitting 8 points ahead of PSV and 10 points ahead of Olympiakos (who I face in the next game). Only 7 games to go.

The team is finding goals easy to come by and the season has certainly picked up since once against playing around with Dracos position. Last season Giorgios Dokos took over the reigns up front whilst Dracos fell back to centre half, however this season he has been moved back up front and has scored a bundle of goals as we march onto the title, his height and strength proving ever so valuable, most notably hitting 4 against Feyenoord. Agata is still the club’s top scorer and has got his goal touch again after a brief barren spell.

I don’t plan to make many moves in the transfer market. My main plan is to boost the trainer and youth team to the maximum that I can.

The only buy I really want to get is acquiring Youssif Hadji, the 30 year old find himself transfer listed and I hope that that will sway the deal. It should be around £1m mark. I may also try and get a centre half, who can hopefully play full-back and a defensive midfielder. Not really too bothered with a striker, but dependant on any squad movements I may make, this maybe happen.

I’m a bit unsure whether to move on all my youth players who have come in with the exception of Valeny. However the revenue from those players won’t bring in much at all. Just want to start trimming my squad down to have only what I need. I’ll see what comes in the transfer window and that will determine who will be sold off.

Fair play to Rodos for bouncing back Frank, it's never easy to raise the morale after a European exit, as I know only too well.

Well, I must admit, without a shadow of a doubt, Boro are playing out of their skin at the minute. I'm actually finding that I'm playing better football on Top Player than I was on Professional.

I dont even know why ? Maybe it's because I have less time on the ball and therefore using my footballing brain alot more, either way I'm loving this Top Player EPL lark.

I only had time for a couple games last night. First up was Sheffield Utd in the 2nd round of the FA Cup. I put the difficulty level back down to Professional for this game against the Championship side, as I felt that it made it more realistic. To be fair Sheff Utd played very well, and were very stubborn to break down. It wasnt until 70 minutes before I got my first goal, then the floodgates opened, and Boro hit them for 5 in the last 20 minutes.

Next up was a home game against top of the table, and unbeaten, Manchester Utd. :WOOT:

I changed it back up to Top Player and thought to myself, this is the real test. My coach advised me that Fergie was looking to field a weakened team. One thing is for sure, it didnt look fricking weakened to me. Rooney and Aguerro up front for starters had me quaking in my boots.

Within 2 minutes 30 seconds of the first half (15 minute game), and without Man Utd even touching the ball, Boro were 1-0 up through a Lita diving header. I swear this goal came at the end of at least 20 passes. All mixed up, varied from on the deck, to in the air, a couple of 1,2's and a lovely whipped ball in from the left from Taylor, who was standing in for the injured Johnson.

The replay managed to get the last 8 or so passes, but Man Utd were ripped to pieces as Boro played the ball around until the gaps were created, then 'boom' 1-0. Boro continued to play their best football so far as they ran Man Utd ragged. Another Lita goal on 60 minutes did nothing but justify Boro's dominance.

I then got a little sloppy. A stupid 'schoolboy' error brought on by a lapse in concentration by me, ( I was actually thinking about writing this on here, doh !! ) saw Aguerro disposses Wheater on the half way line. Aguerro raced through on goal and clinically dispatched the finish into the bottom corner. That was my first mistake of the game and I was duly punished for it. Boro started to panic a bit after that, and Man Utd seemed to turn it up a gear.

With 10 minutes of the game remaining, and some stunning football from Man Utd, Aguerro leveled the game with another composed world class finish. To say I was sick was a severe understatement. We had owned Man Utd for 70 minutes of the game, a stupid mistake gave them hope, and then they capitalised on it. You see this happen so much in real life, and normally, although with three seperate probable outcomes, usually only two come into play. Either the team thats come from behind, with the momentum still strong, goes on to score another and win the game. Or, the team that gave away the 2 goal advantage, somehow finds the ingredients to form the recipe that helped serve up the first two goals. Thankfully on this occasion, it was the latter. :BOP:

With 85 minutes on the clock, a surging run and fake shot from Lita tricked the Man Utd defence. Lita then slid in Iaquinta, the Italian's first touch to get the ball out of his feet on the edge of the box, was as good as the shot that followed as the ball crashed into the top corner.

At this point I was probably running around my front room with my t-shirt over my head.

Boro saw the game out, but not before Rooney had hit the bar from a full 30 yards in stoppage time. Boro won 3-2, and at the same time handed the mighty Man Utd their first loss of the season. It really doesnt get much better than that. And the range of emotions that game produced were beyond what you should ever expect to feel from a video game. PES at its very best.

hehe.............well done mate.

It does happen when you lose a goal, I think it's a case of panicking like a real player and you start getting sloppy and desparate.

Iaquinta looks like he's doing well with you.

Started playing PES after a 2 year break...so a bit rusty...

ML : professional - Liverpool...
1st game away to Bolton...a scrappy game....but in the last 5 minutes
we put pressure with corner after corner...and in the last minute Torres
side-foots after Kuyt's tremendous work retrieving a lost cause..

2nd game...FA Cup vs Burnley...1:1 into last minute and super sub Babel
scores from 30 yds....a screamer...low into the corner....to snatch a late win..

Brilliant....this is football !!

Cheers bud, the lads have taken to the Premier League like a duck to water. :BOP:

As for Obinna, I had him at the Boro last year on PES 2009, he's a great little buy. He needs work on his shooting, he can be very inconsistent, but his pace is electrifying.

Man, I love this fricking game.

Yeah Jimmy you were right about the young Nigerian. He is very inconsistent with his shooting and scoring form. He has gone on a nasty goal drought and has lost his position upfront to now playing as a left midfielder. I need to find me some money to go specialist training for a couple of players.

After a bright start to the season, i have been brought back to the reality. I am already 15 points adrift from the table toppers Chelsea who haven't lost any games yet in 10 EPL games. Currently 10th on the table and the only highlight so far in the last couple of games is the Home win against AC Milan.

Now that was a cracker. I won the game by lone goal at death. End to end stuff. This game is simply beautiful.

To be honest mate the other Championship OF thats on PESgaming based on Rosh's original file looks better all round. But I have the WENB base one so used this. Keep pondering whether to change or not, although this will get alot of options but the stats wont change with the ML started even though kits, faces etc will.

Does anyone know as and when the NEW wanrizal's championship OF is coming out for PES 2010 PS3 BLES00688 UK???

I have v1 (which I found on this thread), but most of the players are non-edited (eg: stats are all 70/faces/hair etc), non-accurate 09-10 squad lists and no Doncaster, Swansea (and most importantly) QPR kits!

I'm desperate to get started on ML/BAL on a fully-completed championship OF, if ANYONE has any info as to when this will be released, I will be forever in your debt!!!

Thanks peeps and happy gaming!

Right.............Right.................Right!!!!!!!!

WTF!

What's the score with winning the league? After 34 games and a long hard season my Rodos team managed to win the league. Granted I made it a bit tougher than I should have with 8 points clear with 3 games to go, all away from home. My first game I was 2-1 up against Ajax then lost a goal at the death through Suarez. Meant whilst I had won the league due to my far superior GD, I couldn't be technically crowned champions. Played VV Vello (or something like that) and they beat me 3-2. :CONFUSE: However luckily enough PSV slipped up and that was me crowned champions.

Now to my complaint, there I was happy as Larry watching my players celebrate on the park, waving to the fans etc, then into the dressing room and they where jumping around celebrating............................now may I ask, WTF is the trophy? No presentation, no cup, what's that all about?

I thought maybe the next game, but no, and the last game..............no.

Anyone know why I didn't get to see my players lift the league title?

Is it copyright of the Dutch league or something? Is it because I'm away from home?

Mightily pi**ed off with the game about this.

Same happened with me as well. Don't think we'll ever get to see any trophy lifting. Just the bouncing about in the dressing room...

I won the league with Ajax about 22 points clear, few games left obviously, got the jumping in the dressing room and no trophy. Guess that's it.

Gutierrez and Makaay were both in second place as goalscorers and Gutierrez was the assist king and the best player of the league. With Gutierrez becoming very strong and Makaay performing decently, I was less dependant on Crouch who still had a good season. I was also very surprised at Makaay's rate of goals since I felt he underperformed in most of my games. He playes at a a lumbering pace, but has good position for headers and pokes.

I expected to nab some names after thrashing the league like that, but no, even my level 5 scout came up mostly empty handed. I bought Nemeth for the frontline and a couple of unknowns with decent stats for the defence, looks like another year of struggle in Europe. I wonder when the Big names will want to join, I have 50 million left after expenses paid and am now training up player cards, just to do something with my money. Also I negotiated with a lot of lesser players who you could hardly call big names but most of them refused. I guess it's the placement of the dutch league at rock bottom in the rankings which is the reason.

My frustrations were mirrored in the first few games, a loss in the first game against AZ I think, and just scrambled an overtime win in the cup. Again, I felt the fans were rather cruel "The fans are very disappointed after a loss at home" Ok I dig that but why wasn't there a message along the lines of "The fans are ecstatic after Ajax bulldozed the league 22 points in the clear"

CL gets trophy lifting and i must say the trophy looks nice. D1 Cup gives you them celebrating on the pitch with no trophy (dunno why they're in that picture taking mode but no trophy), and Master League gives you no trophys, no pitch picture, just locker room jumping and dancing...(would be better if they had some champagne and crazy hats! lolz)

Not sure about Konami Cup nor Europa League yet...haven't won those yet.

Managed to get a penalty for the first time in master league mind u was after update. Just heard some people had gone many seasons without a penalty awarded.

Well if you get Player of the year he gets a trophy, all dressed up in a tux :D Quite nice.

I just got that and it looked lovely. It came out of nowhere and totally took me by surprise. It happened some time in November I think. It went to a cutscene and there was a ceremony of someone lifting a prize, and it was my Darren Bent! He won European player of the year award :D That was a really nice touch, even though it came after Liverpool thrashed me 4-0 in Anfield :II

They're back on top again with a 4 point difference and I fell back to 3rd. That was the first time I get my ass handed to me like that...

Liverpool thrashed me 4-0 in Anfield :II

Yep, I'm in that club mate, they did exactly the same thing to me at Anfield, a big 4-0 drubbing. Aquilani was on a different planet with 3 goals and an assist, he ripped us to shreds.

It was a humbling defeat for Boro, and a reminder of just what the big guns are capable of on their day. In saying that, Boro have done the double over Chelsea, remain unbeaten to Man Utd, and have taken 4 points off Arsenal.

Boro are currently sitting in 3rd place in their debut season in the EPL. We are 4 points adrift of Liverpool, who are top, and a point off Arsenal in 2nd place. Boro also reached the final of the FA Cup and will play Liverpool after we defeated Arsenal in the semi-final 3-2 after extra time, with Iaquinta getting the winner in stoppage time of extra time. :BOP:

Boro managed to sign Geovanni from Hull on loan in the January transfer window to give me more cover, and to be fair, he has been outstanding. Marinelli, my Argentinian 22year old goalkeeper I signed at the beginning of the season has been an absolute revelation, one of the best shot stoppers I have seen. He is also the feature of my next video I upload, probably the best save I've seen so far on PES.

Also Gilly, (Gil) my 22 year old Brazilian striker has certainly ruffled some feathers in the EPL to date. He is a monster, tall, great in the air, and built like a brick shithouse. He is currently the top scorer in the EPL with 15 goals. What is even more bizarre is that he has only started 2 matches. He just comes off the bench and scores for fun, I'm sure he thinks he's got the Supersub Player Card. He is a right handful though, very powerful and very strong on the ball, a defenders nightmare. He's got a very bright future.

I'm not even thinking about CL qualification at the moment, just taking each game as it comes. I'm happy in the knowledge I've qualified for the Europa League thanks to my FA Cup run, but if that can be bettered with a CL spot, I'll be over the moon.

To be continued .......

After 4 struggling games in the league with only 5 points to show for them, it was time to compete against top team PSV. I bet they thought this would be the time to win Ajax but Ajax reminded everyone why they are champions. 0-3 away win and a sudden jump up the table. One more win and I was up to top four. Sadly the new winning ways didn't convert to the Champions League where I got beaten away by Zenit 3-1.

These first games I've noticed that Bullard seems to have dipped in quality from when I signed him. He is no longer an automatic choice for me in the left of the midfield, where he seems to work better than on the right side. Salihamidiz and Etxeberria share AMF duties. Alvaro Gonzales on the right of midfield and Vincent Palacios as DMF. Again, I can never get the spelling of these names right but I think you get the idea.

Up front it's still Crouch and Gutierrez who are first choices. Makaay and Nemeth are first subs, Nemeth already has one goal for Ajax and Makaay has got some rebound goals, his position is excellent but sometimes it seems that's all he's good for. 5th striker is Schwartz, a German youth team player I brought up. Has nice stats and I think he will become good if I manage to use him.

The defence is mostly original players, I got Ayala from Liverpool and some dude from somewhere else (can't rememeber the name) and although I can better rotate the defence now it's still rather weak.

Hi guys,

I really like pes.But i think the new transfer system is screwed up. Now i'm playing with Liverpool, i bought: Wijnaldum and Diego Capel in my first season. At the end of the season i bought Huntelaar and some young guns, i almost forgot Catermole. In the mid season transferwindow i bought Jovetic, and was trying to buy Villa and Heitinga. Villa went to Chelsea, and i had the option to buy Heitinga for 55mil euro and a salary of 5.5mil.I only had 57mil so i could not buy him. And then he went to Porto for 44mil euros. This happens to me way to often. Xabi Alonso went Ajax. Really weird transfers, anybody has an idea how i can buy the better players?

Thanks allready

Restarted my ML campaign since I wanted to make the CPU squads
more aggressive..tweaked their stats.

Liverpool, Professional.

Still getting used to PES on PS3, after a 2 year break from PES.

Domestically, it has been a mixed start...with 2 defeats in 4...
to Stoke and Portsmouth...no wins at home yet...1 win at West Ham.

Then the big one...away to Barca in the CL....Messi scores in the
4th minute, they are flying...we are stunned...but as the game goes
on we slowly get back...Torres levels, and the 2nd half is one-sided
for us with Acquilani winning it superbly.
Next up Chelsea at Anfield, we are 2 up in 20 minutes thanks to brilliant
goals by Torres and Gerrard...., then Anelka pulls one back...
but Torres scores from another superb counter...and 3:1 it ends.

So a mixed start, but now with the more attacking tactics and our
a more solid R2 based defending...our season is taking off....but
we are already 10 pts adrift of United.

We desperately need some cover for Torres and Gerrard...
special mention to Riera who is really creating a great attacking
triangle with some lovely passing and interplay.

Already the League seems too distant, but hoping for a good Cup and CL run....
