That opm review is awful - barely mentions any game mechanics.
Re PES and it's supposed revolution next year -
the comments that ignited this 2010 revolution rumour were seabass' last year when he said pes would go back to the drawing board. Well...
in the frankly embarassing konami on stage demo at leipzig where the asian konami rep tried to convince us there were new tricks in the game (it turned out that players this year can 'change direction') he used the words "we've gone back to the drawing board". And now seabass, in that ign interview that's so moronic it defies gravity, uses the word revolution.
Well - firstly i think we just got our revolution (i think it mainly involved adding depth of field in cinematics) and secondly, EA have just shown what it takes to embrace next gen technology in a football game - knoami look like del boy and rodders in comparison.
The fact is that anyone who claims those videos, whilst servicable, are better than pes5 (and relatively, we7) is fooling themselves. For the love of marmite, the ball barely moves along the ground, crosses are broken - they just arrow towards the eighteen yard line, the whole game bunches up like a sunday league-fest, and the players move with all the animation of a connect four piece.
Think about this - konami have just spent three years producing a next gen game, the central aim of which seems to have been to get the game back to the state it was in at pes 5, on a ps2. And incredibly, they've failed - the game plays worse, looks worse, and sounds worse.
Is it just me who thinks this is insane?!
