One of the most accurate posts on this websites. I switched over to PES only a few yrs ago, but I still feel like I was once a "die-hard" fan. I still find appalling that these nostalgic fans think that "playing PES since ISS" feel like this statement warrants them to downgrade others' opinions that may critisize the game. I played PES6 with my roommate who is a die-hard FIFA fan and he fell in love with it. When we popped in PES2008, it took one match for him to realize a lot had changed for the worse in the new version.
What incentive do we have try PES '09? Do I represent a small majority in those thinking that this game will continue to disappoint? Jeez I remember this time around with PES 5 awaiting PES 6 to come out, giddy as a schoolgirl waiting for what improvements they could make on an already outstanding game. Can't say I wasn't satisfied. Now with PES '09 I feel like I just want to see if the game is tolerable to play. The anticipation is gone, and my expectations are low. I feel when the demo comes out early October, a very sad day for this once PES lover may be eminent.
I'm proud to say I've tested today a demo of PES 2009 and FIFA09 complete game it was at the "Festival du jeu video" of Paris.
I'll just talk about PES 2009, like everybody says PES 2009 is slower than PES 2008, you have to build your bame to score. When I played I saw the same animations than PES 2008 the graphisms has been improved when the goalkeeper shoots there is an another camera and the grass looks like a carpet but in the other cameras the pitch is a little like a real pitch.
When a player is challenged there is good animations when the player falls.I had the impression that the pitch was longer and that the player ran slower.
I don' have taken pictures because I wasn't know that there was PES there. So I haven't take my camera.I think you have already seen what I've said with screens but I would say my imprssions.
do u have a pic.?
do u have a pic.?
I think when you watch the game it looks the same but when you play it's harder, better, slower. You think it plays better then pes 2008, even when it looks the same?
That opm review is awful - barely mentions any game mechanics.
Re PES and it's supposed revolution next year -
the comments that ignited this 2010 revolution rumour were seabass' last year when he said pes would go back to the drawing board. Well...
in the frankly embarassing konami on stage demo at leipzig where the asian konami rep tried to convince us there were new tricks in the game (it turned out that players this year can 'change direction') he used the words "we've gone back to the drawing board". And now seabass, in that ign interview that's so moronic it defies gravity, uses the word revolution.
Well - firstly i think we just got our revolution (i think it mainly involved adding depth of field in cinematics) and secondly, EA have just shown what it takes to embrace next gen technology in a football game - knoami look like del boy and rodders in comparison.
The fact is that anyone who claims those videos, whilst servicable, are better than pes5 (and relatively, we7) is fooling themselves. For the love of marmite, the ball barely moves along the ground, crosses are broken - they just arrow towards the eighteen yard line, the whole game bunches up like a sunday league-fest, and the players move with all the animation of a connect four piece.
Think about this - konami have just spent three years producing a next gen game, the central aim of which seems to have been to get the game back to the state it was in at pes 5, on a ps2. And incredibly, they've failed - the game plays worse, looks worse, and sounds worse.
Is it just me who thinks this is insane?!
lets wait for next year to criticize next year's edition, we've still yet to have this one on our hands.

Surely you should post this in the hairdressing thread NOT the PES 2009 News Discussion thread!! Jeeeesus.......
This thread is a joke.......
People, please stop critisizing PES 09 BEFORE you've even played it!
Play it, judge it then, not 3 weeks prior to it's release. :brick::brick::brick:

The reason why Konami and other co's put out videos, screenshots, loads of info is for people to get an idea of what the game will be like. Obviously, I will try the demo but from what Ive seen it looks very blah. People are judging because Konami gave us stuff to "judge" in a way. How can you not judge info, videos?? Ludicrous. Same thing with demos. people say "Dont judge by the demo":-k Ummm, the demo is a "demonstration" of course, of what the game will be like. Its meant to entice people to buy so how can you not judge???? LOL!
Do you judge a movie by it's trailer? A book by it's cover? etc...
Prejudice is the lowest form of judgement.
im not judging the game,im judging konamis methods of fooling people every year with the same old shite:sick:

how do you know they are not up to date have you got the final build?
they leave transfers to the last minute, just saw a review of FIFA 09 on Playr (uk) and it had Saha at Man Utd but the guy reviewing said the retail version will fix that and that every transfer will be up to date
