Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Hmmm I am confused.

I have been playing the PS3 version and have really been enjoying it, that is until I played the 360 version today. To me it seems that the 360 version flows much better than the PS3 version, can't explain it but players seem to move much better and the pitch seems smaller. I enjoyed playing it and to me the 360 version looked better.

Can anyone confirm this? I've got both systems now and for PES 2009 which isn't out until next month here in Canada, I was going to get it for PS3 since I'm more used to the D-pad for WE/PES games (stick is somewhat pointless for PS3 with WE's limited directional movements). But if there is indeed gameplay difference I may have to reconsider...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Yes, I think Xbox version plays smoother.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

What are the options for online on this? and the numbers ?

Bump

Wrong - I dont know where you read that or why you assume that. That is not true - just read the Adam's review at WENB - it is pretty spot on.

I mostly play offline with friends, but it is a shame if the online is again a lagfest like last year. I played PES5 online a lot in the past and was really smooth, even with my peruvian crappy connection.

As Adam said, Konami (Seabass) needs to listen to the fanbase or the next year would be even worse...

Suff said it on the Podcast but Adam has now wrote his review which he says different it seems.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Is it true next year WONT have a new engine? If so that would suck big time, I'm not really impressed with the latest edition and won't be if they keep sticking with the engine, really look how fifa is doing really fine on the new engine, Konami should make a new engine too, I know it costs a few years to make a great engine but I'll give them that time if they try to make a great engine

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I tried 40 backpasses today and so many in other games, my keeper hoofs it away everytime..

Totally agree with you, I bought it on PS3 for simpler editing but after playing some colleagues at work on the 360 version I switched it over.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I have avery serious question.

In previous titles you were able to edit the way a player runs. can we do that in 09?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I second that, yes you can change a running animation on a player.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

OK then, here's a video of one of the most annoying keeper errors that happens in every other game when I pass back to the keeper.

Dunno what to say to that - never seen anything like that in mine. The only gripe I could have is that keepers don't come out quick enough.

Other than that, they're mint.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I don't know how the 360 version plays. It could play better than the PS3 version - however, I've played the Ps3 version and it's still technically FLAWLESS. Even on BAL. Silky smooth.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

That's weird.

I always use Square to clear the ball.

I think it's just a split second bug where the keeper doesn't know whether to save it or clear it. Maybe it is a combination of a strong pass back to him and a clearance under pressure.

However, in that vid the pass back wasn't that strong!? :CURSE:

I'll try and make a few more vids of this happening if I can bring myself to play the game again ;).

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Are there any Italians, Spanish, French posters about?

I'm looking for decent european chants (mp3 format preferably). All I can seem to find at the moment are English clubs.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

No idea mate, looking for Italian ones aswell but they are very difficult to come by apparently

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I've found lot's of Italian ones, but in .adx format. In the conversion from .wav to .mp3 I lose the volume for some reason. Bloody annoying!

***Edit:I might have found a way to amplify the files once in mp3 format. I'll let you know if it works. ***

This is really weird, as it is known that Adam likes PES more than FIFA. ANd he said that all the time...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Die hard PES fan and member of this forum for years,

all i can say is this might be my last post on here.

after last years abysmal effort and now this which when you pass the ball sounds as though you are bouncing a basketball in the La Lakers stadium all on your own, lol.

i have moved over to the other side and could not be happier,

far superior experience in every dept i second wenb podcast opinions.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Interesting little backpass glitch there.

I've not seen that happen so far, and it's not like stuff like that doesn't happen occasionally in real life anyway.

I did have a funny one where the keeper made an awesome last-ditch diving save to claw the ball back from being nearly over the line - he pushed it against the post, then picked up the rebound, but in doing so bumped into the post causing him to drop the ball on the ground and then had to dive on it.

The keeper went from looking awesome to looking ridiculous in about a second.

Oh, and if anyone's looking at creating a crappy Championship side at a level that's realistic, I can recommend leaving all the levels at 70. I played with a work-in-progress Saints team in the Champions League, couldn't score in 6 games and only managed one 0-0 draw in the 5 minute games even against the likes of Cluj.

Admittedly I'm crap anyway, and I won't just leave the "blank" stats eventually, but it was really difficult to do anything, and they looked EXACTLY like they did on Saturday (though fewer missed penalties). :D.

And FWIW, the first goal I EVER conceded in PES2009 (non-Demo) was scored by Geovanni for Hull against CFR Cluj WITH HIS ARSE, WHILST LYING DOWN as he fell over the goal-line when tripped with the ball rebounding onto him from the post. It was the worst goal I've ever seen, but so funny and such a scramble.

It was right up there with the first one I conceded on PS2 PES3, which was a direct corner slipping straight through the keeper's hands, and never happened again despite endlessly playing PES "Tournoi"s with my mates and vs CPU.

Still pes5 and pes6 are superior to pes2009 in almost every aspect: player model, animations, ball physics, gameplay, shooting, goalies etc, i don't see why spending money for nothing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Thanks Charlie - they're the .adx's I was talking about, but I might have solved that problem.

I don't agree about 5 & 6 being better. Hard to remember 5 now, but 2009 is certainly better than PES6. In fact 6 was pretty much unplayable until the stat edited option files came out.

The gameplay is certainly very similiar to 5 (which admittedly, is in itself is a fault as it was 3 years ago) but with the new BAL mode I haven't enjoyed a PES as much since the early PS1 days.

Not to insult your play, but I'm pretty sure that the reason that is happening to you is your own timing, maybe pressing the button to clear too early or something?

I as well am not having that problem at all.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

What the hell happened to Badgerman and Paolo Taveres? I want to hear impressions from these two.

they´re probably busy playing fifa09 but don´t have the courage to admit it

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I've registered the Konami ID thing - jeez, how much does this game NOT want to let you online! Nag screens, log ins etc... poor show.

Catch ya'll online later - I've registered ingame as 'pbb76' but dont know how you find friends etc yet...

You've probably found it now but just for the record.

If you go into NETWORK and then join any lobby - go into VIEW DATA - and in there you can search for a friends ID.

BUT - it seems they have to be online while you search - it doesn't seem to find anyone who is offline as you search.
